    I think it's very important to note that a swim jig can be drug around and you can swim a finesse jig or a football jig. And really, these are just different retrieves targeting different parts of the water column, which is one of the things that makes a jig a versatile bait - that and the fact that you can do it with any jig including a ball head jig or a shaky head or a Ned rig. Not just skirted jigs. Another thing that I don't hear a lot of people mention in these kinds of posts is that you can also do the exact same thing with Texas rigged plastics on lakes with clear water and more pressured fish and do just as well. Oftentimes even when it's cold.

      Yes. This topic can be confusing to someone who hasn’t fished a jig a whole lot. This was my attempt at hammering home a point without jumping all over the place. But yes I agree, swimming a jig and a swim jig are like baseball and softball… two completely different meanings there. I do think you don’t hear the swimming/different retrieves with Texas rigs is because people, myself included don’t always remember exactly what they were doing before they got a bite 😆.
