I work 36 - 48 hours a week as a nurse. My house is in hell of a mess half the time. Always seem to be behind with something. My advice is don’t put too much pressure on yourself. Socialising in work has its draw backs as well. Some people you work with get on your nerves lol xx
My friends in the office corporate world say that filling a receptionist role is one of the most difficult, because it requires a multiple set of skills (and personality) that are quite rare to find. So I imagine your new employer is thrilled to have found you. Good Luck! Xxx

There are loads of vacancies in the NHS they can't fill
I had such a job around your age it was interesting and very challenging…but fun too! I very much enjoyed it and my work family. You will be such an amazing asset to this business! They are so very lucky to have gotten you. I am quite jealous really, I wish I worked there myself so I could have you as my new coworker! You will be getting a guaranteed wage and that will give you so much more comfort. Now that I am retired I think back and marvel at how much I accomplished while I was working full time! I will miss you so very much but anything that might come up on you tube will be treasured even more 🥰❤️🇨🇦. Best of luck

When my youngest daughter who is now 45 first went back to full time work she was shattered for the first few weeks but adjusted eventually. I think you've made the right decision and I wish you all the luck and success in your new job. I hope you can still keep us posted, if only occasionally but shall understand if you have to put things on hold for a bit.

Congratulations on getting the job. You'll be surprised just how much you will fall into a routine. Just don't stress when something can't get done. I have a job of teaching in a school during the week, gigs at the weekend and RUclips inbetween. So glad you are not leaving. I love my Carla fix when I get the chance to catch up. You are so calming and lovely. Your fans won't desert you for sure. ❤️🥰 X

Firstly: Congratulations again.🎉🎉 Completely understand your need for a lifestyle change brought about mainly by circumstances. Secondly: Those of us that have got to know you as a "friend" (despite never having met you) are so happy for you and wish you every success. Thirdly: So pleased that this is not goodbye but "as and when my friend". Fourthly: I think this will rejuvenate your weight-loss. It is so easy to procrastinate when you have unlimited time to do things to the point where you don't do things and eat something nice to compensate for not having done what you should have done! (I do this and am considering if I could get a part-time job). With you on the phone out of room too. It's incredible how having it within 6 inches affects sleep! Lastly: We aren't going anywhere....we're sticking with you because we're made out of glue!! 🎵🎶 BTW - you DID cover the 5 Ws....who, what, why, when and WOW instead of how! Wishing you every success and happiness as you open a new door. You will smash the new job for sure! Did you refer to your guts, determination/willpower in succeeding in losing so much weight in your job interview? I hope so as it is a massive string to your bow in any prospective employers eyes. Good luck Carla and congratulations on your job . One of the points you made about working from home and not being out in the real world I can totally agree with . My husband worked at home as a graphic designer for years and it wasn't doing him good an opportunity came up to take over a gardening round and he took it that business has grown and he loves it and he's a different person he hardly does andy graphic design now as he much prefers his new job .❤️

Good Luck Carla! I started a full time job last month and it’s hard at first but you soon get into a routine. I hadn’t worked full time for approx 15 years 😂
It’s a lot to take on learning a new job etc but you will soon get used to it. Hope it goes really well and look forward to any updates 💕

Congratulations on your new job, having a regular wage other than ebay is reassuring. I have been hoping to go full time on ebay, but i just don't have the nerve, its so hit and miss and that doesn't pay the bills. So i haven't been brave enough to leave my employed work. Our main jobs pay our bills and feeds us and ebay gives me some savings, for holidays, days out etc. You are going to be a very busy lady. xx

Had too many bad experiences, unfortunately. It's so nice to know that we will always have reselling to fall back on though and could walk out of a job if we really wanted to!

You and Mrs M gave me a lifeline in 2018 when I needed a regular small income stream and I opened a eBay shop, it worked well enough for the first 2-3 years but is definitely on the wane now. Luckily I have an alternative source of income on the horizon.
You are so right about how much we end up with after eBay have taken their cut, stock costs ,packaging etc. My profit is around 50%.

Carla you've clearly thought this out and it's fantastic that you've got the job. It will take time to get into new routines but overall financial security will take such a lot of pressure off you that all the effort will be worth it. You are so right. If you have all day to clean a house, it will take you all day. If you have an hour, you will be amazed what you can get done. Just don’t be surprised if you are VERY tired for the first while. Learning new ( even very uncomplicated) stuff can leave you exhausted. But that will work itself out. Best wishes in your new role 😘

Congratulations on your new job, totally agree working from home means you do procrastinate about household tasks. Returning to office definitely helped me compartmentalise tasks into work and home. Whatever you post on youtube I will watch avidly. Carla, the very, very best of luck. Anyone who has worked for themselves for a period of time (like me) will appreciate just what an enormous adjustment it will be to go back to working for someone else. Don’t be too hard on yourself on keeping everything else going either in the short term or the long term. 42 listings a week is a big task on top of a 40hr week especially with your caring responsibilities with your Mum. I find that I am now (after 8 years) working 7 days a week and not really being able to switch-off just to achieve what I did in 3-4 days in the past on eBay. This may well be my last year fulltime before going back to employment (for a rest).
