Narrow Edge set new standards for motorsport filmmaking, winning Europe-wide awards for producer C.H. Woods. It has stood the test of time and remains a unique record of a fascinating year.
This is the story of the 1974 Grand Prix season, focusing on multi-World Champion Agostini as he switches from the MV team to the two-stroke Yamahas for the first time.
After a dramatic year of hard-fought competition, Read would secure the 500cc title for MV Agusta in what was intended to be the final year the Italian marque would field a works team. It was the perfect end to an era of amazing success for the howling MVs.
From Daytona, Florida, to Imatra, Finland, we are treated tremendous racing between Ago and former teammates Read and Gianfranco Bonera. Plus, there is the emergence of an exciting new talent in the shape of Barry Sheene.
There's also a chance to watch Ago's stable mate Teppi Lansivouri in action, and see Kenny Roberts in his very first GP, riding a 250cc Yamaha.
Between races we join Ago away from the circuit to discover what the Italian superstar gets up to when he's not racing!

I watched Ago, Read, Rod Gould, Paul Smart at Roy Hesketh SA as a kid in 70's. Ago was Legend. He rode Mv's at that time.

Ich hab den Meister Ago selbst noch fahren sehen 1971\72 in Hohenstein auf Sachsenring. Der Wahnsinn. Rundendurchschnitt von 178 km\h und das 1972. Unglaublich. Da ginge noch durch die Stadt und Wald mit 200. Heute undenkbar.

The greatest ever, not always riding the fastest bike but for sure the fastest rider . Agostini gifted Yamaha a world title in 1975 despite a slower machine, giving Roberts and Read repeteaded lessons.

Ten TTs won when this race was part of the World Championship. No electronic traction control and ride management; all pilot handle. Either you drove cleanly otherwise you died at the first little mistake.
Halcyon days and great memories ...Was at Mallory Pk 1971 when John Cooper on a Rocket 3 beat Ago on his MV..Think they are still friends.

I was there too, what a day that was. Beautiful weather, a full house, the two of them passing and repassing, and each time Coop took the lead there was a deafening roar from the crowd.

Anyonewho road raced an worn leathers..especially Dienese italian leather....everytime i would put my race leather on...i felt confindent...any one whos worn Dianese leathers will notice the plaque style tag that list the great world champions to put these leathers on before them...on that tag Agostini....is listed more than once...it always gave me a relaxed air of confidence...wow i have to live up to this it was motivation to be at my best....15 times mama mia....luigi get over here an look at this
