Major drama has been happening for content creators on RUclips and Twitch alike, to the point that the top streamers like Ludwig and Cr1TiKaL are questioning how much time Twitch has left. In other words, Twitch has been on fire for the last few weeks. So is it all just meaningless drama, or is Twitch truly coming to an end?

the fact that all the rules bend slightly if you're popular enough on both twitch and youtube it makes it very difficult to figure what is actually allowed and what's only allowed from the top earners... which is definitely frustrating....
I found your channel through this video earlier today and have been going through listening to your videos for most of the day. I like how you’re able to get your personal thoughts across while still being informative and largely unbiased (unless it’s an opinion video obvs).

Pyrocynical has mad a great switch from Twitch to RUclips streaming. He was in a way forced off of Twitch and decided to start streaming on RUclips and it has been great for him. I have been watching his content on RUclips for over 3 years now, and when he started streaming on Twitch I had no intentions on going on that app to watch him. Now I casually watch his steams on RUclips and have realised how annoying Twitch is with the adds and discoverability of other channels. Also, I have just discovered your channel and this is the second video I've seen of yours but you have already earned my subscribe :)
I think one of the better things about twitch vs youtube in terms of streaming is that modding on twitch is a lot easier and there is a lot more functionality (e.g mod view/commands/bans/mods can start polls) and youtube presently doesn't have any of that (or at least not for the creators i mod for)

I dont really understand twitch and only watch a few live streams on RUclips. So I'm definitely not the target audience for this video but its interesting to hear this news. Great video!
Unskippable ads are the exact reason I'd never consider watching a live Twitch stream for any reason other than to see a streamer play my Mario Maker levels.
Even then, I'd only use Twitch for that because Twitch gives me a convenient way to find a list of people currently streaming that game.
I feel like it's too late for me to make a video on this subject but you def took the words out of my mouth regarding this dramatic week on twitch. whew!
Wait youre the first RUclipsr (for me) who left a pause/space for an ad. I was so pleased I let it play. I didn't know RUclipsrs could do that.
I don’t think Twitch is the only mega-popular service that’s going downhill. Two other ones that come to mind are RUclips and Netflix. Yt has been on the decline ever since they took away dislikes, and while I don’t think they’ll be going anywhere any time soon, public opinion of them is at an all time low. As for Netflix, they’ve been absolutely wrecked by Disney+, not to mention that they’re kind of ruining their own brand by upping their prices during such a competitive time. With so many of these huge companies (seemingly) going under, I wouldn’t be surprised if we were in the beginning stages of a major transitional period, and if we were using completely different platforms in 10 years. I might be reaching here, but it feels like some of the platforms that have been around for ages are really starting to fail. I guess we’ll see how it goes 🤷
20 years maybe 10 years I don't think so but Hey that's just my opinion.
there's no other platform like RUclips. so YT isnt going anywhere anytime soon unless theres a valid competitor, which i dont think there will be.

They're squeezing what money out of streamers they can, hobbling everyone with ads, so they can just can it and say "we tried!"

I tried streaming on Twitch just for fun and also watching some streams but I've found it extremely confusing and not at all user friendly. Also missing content due to adds was a massive issue for me. I think I will be sticking to RUclips for my content consumption
bigger creators often have separate channels to keep organization - and u won’t have to worry about the subs being upset/disappointed in the long run when they want a specific type of content >< (im sure u know abt the sep channel thing but i jus watched this video and another one and love the way u think)

I can't figure out what's going on with the people who run twitch. It's almost like they're killing their platform on purpose, and I have to wonder why. I think there's something going on that we just aren't aware of.

I think the automatic pre-roll ads on Twitch also contributes to culture of viewers paying money to their favorite streamers, because subscriptions by pass ads.
People are more likely to pay a streamer directly if it's the only way to bypass ads on their content.
I do see signs of RUclips taking over Twitch, Streamers who used to be on Twitch who have tried out a live stream on RUclips getting way more viewers because this is more user friendly and better spilt for the streamer here.

Wait! RUclips shows you only ONE skippable ad at the beginning of a video and doesn't show another one for a while?
Why am I getting one or two ads at the beginning of every video for 2 or 3 times in a row?
So, RUclips will show you one SESSION of ads as a pre-roll to a video/stream, and then it should refrain from showing you another ad if you immediately switch away for a little bit. However, that one ad session can be skippable or not, and contain two or more ads in succession. Whether or not those ads are skippable (at least for videos), are left to the creator's discretion. Whereas on Twitch... if you blink, you get unskippable ads. My bad if I was unclear!

I looked up your twitch on mobile while watching this on my laptop and your twitch channel just didn't come up when I searched it. Even when I searched it on my laptop, it didn't come up. It only comes up when I click on the link.

(Sorry for the soft brag) But I hope to experience youtube growth about your size in the future! I get about 300 views per vid and I'm pretty proud! Though Artwork is first, vids and streaming are more secondary

im on twitch for music DJ sorta streams. joined a couple years ago. i hate how they took away the friends feature. now the host is g one. like it just hurts the smaller creators. like i wonder why they are doing this !?!?!?

Twitch pays less, bans men (but not women) for being sexy, bans gambling streams (but only the ones they dislike, not gacha shit), and refuses to get rid of many creeps and scammers. They both suck at handling user complaints though.
Why not make a gaming channel for the streaming?
If you are gonna gamble online, just play MMORPGs. Especially if the characters could only be acquired thru gatcha. The odds are as low as actual online gambling sites

Also internet gambling feels like a wild west, it shouldnt be sponsorable, there should be no kids gambling, idk feels like an adults only thing, oh and they should be able to give sponsorships and famous people unfair advantages

Is to be a legal gambling place in America has stricter requirements than where these cryptocurrency cryptocurrency gambling sites are so it's not perfect but it is better.

Small creator here, got the hell off twitch because of ethics reasons (Matt Gaetz) - and then the whole ting about you have to stream 8+ hours just to gain views - Had been victim of a hate raid/follow bot last year, and honestly twitch is a security risk on top of that.

Here is where I gotta counter and disagree a bit with what you are saying. ,Yes, it's not ALL gambling that is not banned, but it's some of the most unregulated sites in the game. Places like a stake, Robert, and others are based in curacao and take the next level when it comes to this. Poker has become heavily regulated and isn't an issue comparable to the slot sites we see around. But yea, Twitch has the second worst PR in the business.

I feel like you are really selling tik tok short here jimmy. Yt shorts are horrible in comparison and the streaming service there is a decent bit better then yt. You should consider making a tik tok account. Your content style would be perfect for tik tok content.

I would go against TikTok most stuff I see(since people post them to RUclips) can either be multiple of them same thing or toxic community and people..
Isn’t RUclips also dying? Well, not all of it, but it feels different lately, and i saw a video where a RUclipsr (Stefanie Lange?) said RUclips is dying and moving to short form content. It feels like a lot of content has left RUclips for Tiktok.

Then stop banning innocent people and ban those who actually (intentionally) made a mistake.

Things Twitch is categorically better at than RUclips:-
- Discovery
- Viewer Engagement
- Chat
That's it. There's also the matter that I know a lot of people hate the fact that most RUclips accounts are just their name due to how Google accounts work so feel like they can't interact properly because they have no anonymity and that's a weird thing that Google really should have sorted out a long time ago. I think a lot of RUclipsrs love this idea of Twitch dying or something but the fact of the matter is whilst getting discovered and getting new people engage with your content is always going to be difficult it is far far easier on Twitch as you're not a slave to an algorithm as much as you're just experimenting with different types of game and hours of gameplay and Twitch have actually got tons of tools now giving you suggestions for both what to stream and when to stream it.
RUclips streaming sucks. The chats are weird and behind Twitch and even if they catch up on that score there's still the massive discovery issue.
Worst case scenario is Amazon realise Twitch was never the cash cow they hoped it would be and sell it on to someone else, simple as that.
