They actually DID do something with the tower that you mentioned around 5:00. It occasionally contained event raids for otherwise unobtainable pokemon, usually gigantamax forms, so at certain times you could go up to it with a certain item and get a rare pokemon. Not useful anymore since they've swapped to Scarlet and Violet for events, but it did have a purpose.
I was hesitant to believe it as well, but there’s a pretty detailed record of all the event Pokémon that we’re made available on Bulbapedia. It include some version exclusives and a decent patch of G-Max raids, which are not shiny locked. However, it seems most of the codes to retrieve the crystals needed to trigger then den were distributed in specific stores, based on country and date. Long story short, it wasn’t advertised or known well enough to leverage when it mattered.
The Watchtower Lair is home to a special Pokémon Den that only reacts to Dynamax Crystals. You gotta go to your bag when you're in front of it and use Dynamax Crystals from your bag.

What if every set of primary legendaries had sub legendaries related to them? Like how The Light Trio have the Ultra Beasts, and The Paradox Duo have the Paradox Pokemon. The Aura Trio would probably have a related class of sub legendary Pokémon that would be microscopic Pokémon that have become super sized from absorbing the aura of Mega Evolution into their genetics. I feel like this concept could also work as a sub legendary group related to Eternatus except replace Mega Evolution with Dynamax/Gigantamax.
Should do this same concept but do pseudo+Ubeasts vs sub-legends so that the pools of pokemon are more similar in size. If you take these challenges back to S/V you could even do pseudo+ubeast+paradox vs sub legends Esp since moves/abils are random its basically a BST-off and so this would make a bit more team variety
If you would use items, you can limit yourself to the random items your encounters are holding, or only use berries, since a lot of the randomized abilities work with berries

Catch pokemon (either for yourself or the other, if for the other you can look if your able to translate the move+ability yourself without help from the internet) Once u check for Moves and abilty of your team and decide to skip or keep ur allowed to translate them, but u have to remember them for the fight singe ur not allowed to Check while in fight. If u forgot ur screwed basicly and have to Guess again :) U can tweak the challange how u want like without translating at all but its important i Guess that the opponent doesent know whats going on except guessing from animations wich cant be turned of i Guess..

Set shiny rate to 10%, do hidden encounters, 3 skips. Shiny gives option to exchange for overworld encounter choice of same gen as shiny.

At least these truly have random abilities. Other channels try to convince viewers that they were so lucky to get, for example, a levitate Stakataka.
