I knew I forgotten to do something today! ;)
During our outreach shows, it would usually take me a about 15 seconds to change eyepieces if we ever wanted to zoom in or out.
First you would need to remove the eyepiece. Then, you place the eyepiece into a barlow lens and then place the barlow and eyepiece combined back into the telescope. Finally, you would need to refocus.
Now, I simply twist this eyepiece and refocus to zoom in. It takes a tenth of the amount of time. If you have lots of guests eager to look through your telescope, this eyepiece is so darn handy to have!!
You can also use this eyepiece to determine which magnification you prefer. Say we were looking at a Globular Cluster, but we were zoomed out too far to see individual stars (it just looks like a blob of light). We could zoom in until we see individual stars, but not so close that they become dim compared to the background. Once you found this magical spot in magnification, you can take note as the Baader Zoom has focal lengths marked on the side, and an arrow showing you which focal length you have chosen. Some people purchase this eyepiece just for the purpose of finding a comfortable magnification before switching to a prime eyepiece lens (one that doesn't zoom).
The Baader has five different zoom levels (8, 12, 16, 20, 24mm) that click into place as you twist the eyepiece. This is like having five different eyepieces in one! You also don't have to use the clicked positions. You can gently twist the eyepiece in between the clicks to fine tune any level of magnification within the range of 8-24mm.
But wait, there's more! The Baader Hyperion has a 2.25x Triplet Barlow that comes with it if you purchase the kit. We use it in this video. Once attached, the five click-stop positions cover 3.5 - 10.7mm instead of 8 - 24mm. This is perfect for when it's time to "get crazy" with the magnification when your weather allows it.
Not surprisingly, I found the views of our Baader Zoom to be far sharper than any of our previous eyepieces (which were cheap 1.25" Plossls and 2" Kellners). It is now my main eyepiece for personal and public use.

Hi Robert! I have one more question. Is the eyepiece you use the reason why the images in this video are clear? Or is it telescope? If the eyepiece is the reason, what kind of eyepiece should I get to get a sharpness close to the clarity of this image. And it better not go over $100. Clear skies!

If the moon has that many craters , aint it strange nobody has ever filmed anything hitting the moon and making a crater?
