    My son loves trains 🚆🚂🚃🚄🚅🚇🚈🚉🚊🚝🚞🚋🛤 especially older ones like Alco's even though that doesn't have it's original motor and does not make the sounds and smoke Alco's are known for he is still glad it's still in service and not retired.

    coool my grandparents live up here so I usually see the Alco's go up and down the line when we visit every few months.

    Very nice indeed. We don't see many (any) old Alcos on the west coast, so always nice to see a video of one still running.

    Any idea what their schedule is? Wouldn't mind chasing them one day especially considering there aren't many ALCOs left! Great shots!

      That's a K5L (tuned like a K5H but on a low profile manifold like a K5LA)

    Why did they convert it from a beautiful smoking chugging rs3 to a boring EMD

    • @NotJamareJammer
      @NotJamareJammer Год назад

      emds are more efficient, thats why, and "smoking chugging" isnt good for the environment.

      Because those smoking chugging Alcos were unreliable, noisy, inefficient, and no parts are available anymore. The EMD 567 is a proven, reliable powerplant. It's the train equivalent of rebuilding an old classic car with an unreliable engine and swapping a Chevy 350 or a Ford 302 into it. It might not be original, but it'll make the car usable. This RS3 probably would have been scrapped long ago if it weren't for the engine swap.
