I sometimes wonder if he has been so absent from 40K all these years, because GW either haven't thought of a good enough use for him yet, or because they're saving him for something big down the road.

Agreed Erebus was always 100 % bad, Lorgar and Horus had caricature flaws from the beginning but also many good ones, only gradually worsening, not totally there own fault that they ended up as they did, but Erebus killed a popular boy and stole his identity 😱 don’t even remember Erebus real name.

@@bjornpolivka5774 Liam Taylor, he's a great voice actor and appears in a lot of AKs videos I don't remember all his characters but he's played Rogal Dorn and the Emperor. Altruisan Grace Media also does a wonderful job as the emperor as well as narrating the best version of the Necoronomicon I've ever heard
I always look forward to your videos. Your storytelling, the voice actors and the music are high calibre and it makes me understand the characters more deeply even if i have hard the same stories elsewhere. Easily my favourite 40k channel.

Erebus is one of most powerful characters in the Warhammer 40k Galaxy. He is the Master Puppeteer. He is unapologetic and he knows who he is and has always been true to himself. He planted the seeds of all that is the Horus Heresy. Well played Erebus
he is one of the best written characters in the whole 40k and everyone wants him dead? why? It would be a massive loss to the whole setting and everyone who hates him, deservedly so cause fuck Erebus, would end up missing the little fucker..

Really enjoyed the VO work for Erebus, sounds exactly like I always imagined it.
Erebus was the child that needed to be cuddled by a vortex grenade.
Lorgar's VA did such a good reading of Aaron-Dembski Bowden's First Heretic. You really have the best voice direction and narrations for 40K lore channels.

I love the lore of 40k. I eat it up from all sources, and your telling of these charcaters is masterful. One of my other gaming buddies is also a lore sponge. And this...this was brilliant. I seriously cannot wait until you folks decide to cover horus or the full horus heresy. Thank you for all the work you do for loremasters everywhere

Horus voice actor sounded so familiar to me until i looked at the VAs. Chris Tester is such an awesome VA! Love his WH speeches on tiktok that he does
Honestly the fall of Horus was about the most sentimental moment for me.
Basically while I was playing the audiobook I was at work- so it’s been 7 weeks I’ve been alone covering 4 positions that my boss (who disliked me because his GF tried to toss me under the bus by saying I never answer the radio, I answered the radio during lunch which she screamed at me that I wasn’t supposed to do- so I’ve been there for 7 weeks alone while anyone else there gets 3 people, my boss had 9 people to cover a 3 position place at the time)
So while I was at work I listened to the audiobook and after Horus was taken to the care deck, and before we get to Abadon and so on around the entrance talking about how Horus was dying and they could do nothing is about when I found out that my friend shot himself.
So needless to say basically my work quality went to shit and my boss did such petty shit- fucking siccing assistants on me if I even left my position to talk to my friend who was like just down from where I worked.
So needless to say accidents happened and after that was when I found out… he was doing this whole ‘I’ll strip down everything to the bare minimum and get the numbers up so I look good’ and him being a wide mouth in both the gluttonous way and the mouthy with anyone but ‘the peasants’ he failed spectacularly and was reassigned as other people were brought in.
I haven’t seen him in weeks.
Now my friend is back from the hospital- and he’s getting divorced. He’s doing okayish and is getting better.
I'm sorry for you and your friends suffering brother. Don't suffer such a shitty job and terrible boss. Either leave for better fields or burn it all down before you leave. Either way you deserve better.

What thing I really wish I could rewrite it would be that Lorgar did not get beaten to a pulp in a bad way versus Horus.
Basically, Lorgar is a zealot. He should not beg for mercy at the hands of Horus. I would have it:
“Lorgar engaged Horus, but each assault of his weapon was parried with minimal effort. Horus enjoyed toying with him, but grew bored and struck him down. With each blow Lorgar was struck down, but each time he got back up. Each strike a test of his faith, but he was the chosen of the four gods. Zealous fury rose in Lorgar as Horus’ words of belittlement accompanied each successive knock down. But then, in one burst of power Lorgar rose and came at Horus - a rage that the warmaster had not anticipated, and behind the chaos-lulled eyes of the warmaster, Lorgar saw a hesistation. He pushed the advantage, landing a blow, then a second, until at last, his mace was parried by the Claw of Horus and the pommel of Horus’ blade struck his face with a force of the warp. Lorgar fell. Crippled, he could rise no more, his muscles were broken, even as a primarch it would take time to heal. He lay, muttering prayers, smirking ubehind bruised and torn tissue. As Horus lambasted his brother, declaring his right was the mantle of Warmaster, his claim as the rightful Enperor of mankind, Lorgar chuckled under blood-filled breaths. “You do not see Brother, but I do. I am the Herald of the word of the Gods, I have seen their plans for you and it is nought but death. Oh you think yourself the Warmsdter of mankind with Chaos as your palanquin of power? No, favoured of the false Emperor, in time you vanity will prove fruitless. You are nothing more than a pawn of the Primordial Powers. They send you out to cripple the frontlines, as I await the moment to fill the void left by your crippled corpse. “
Horus left him, Lorgar chuckled, even now the Gods kept him alive. Even now he knew he was The Bearer of the Word.”
This change would take nothing from Horus’ character. We already know his flaws and martial level. Howver, Lorgar, due to the writing is ALWAYS the underdog. This, at the very least, shows that he can be a threat if driven enough.

This was great and also hard to listen to at the same time. First as always The Amber King does a great job at bring the story to life. However this is Erebus we are talking about. I have never had a more visceral reaction to a character than I have had to Erebus. There were times listening when i had to stop listening to this just because of the revulsion. He is truly the most hated character in 40K. It is a rare thing to find a character that is self aware of how horrible they are and revel in it. And to the Amber King you are doing the Emperors work my friend. Well done as always.

The architect that laid the foundations for the worse war in the Imperium’s history. If not for him would Lorgar and by extension Horus have fallen? Maybe even the Emperor would still be more than a living corpse and Sanguinius would be able to guide his sons and have kept them from the black rage and dark thirst. Insane how all roads for where the Imperium is now lead back to this vile heretic. Great video

Lorgar has come so close to being who he was meant to be so many times. Koda phaeron and Erebus were poison in his ears. The story of the word bearers is so tragic, they had so much promise if the imperium worked as intended.
