    this is really too late for you, but mabye someone else will find it useful, next time you buy brake line dont buy the steel lines like you have. buy the copper lines only downside is they have to be flared, but the copper is so much easier to bend and it wont rust out.

    How is the hydro boost hooked up to the power steering pump?

    • @ChucksCustoms
      @ChucksCustoms  2 года назад +2

      The high pressure line comes out of the pump and plugs into the passenger side of the hydroboost. Then I high pressure line comes out of the driver side of the hydroboost and goes down to the steering box. Then a low pressure return line goes back to the pump. There’s also a low pressure return line that comes from the hydroboost and connects to the other return line with a T-fitting

I am going to make that conversion to my square body (1973 C30) while I look for a 4.5 L cummins, or my 6 speed dodge transmission. Already have a 12 valve 5.9 L. So how does the hydroboost hookup to the powersteering pump???

    • @ChucksCustoms
      @ChucksCustoms  4 года назад

      Take the high pressure line from the pump and route it up to the side of the hydroboost unit facing the passenger side. Then run a line from the other side of the hydroboost down to the steering box. Then run a return line from the steering box back to the pump. Theres a nipple on the front of the hydroboost and that also goes down and splices into the return line

    • @ChucksCustoms
      @ChucksCustoms  3 года назад

      I’ve heard a lot of people say that the vacuum pump will work good for the brakes. In fact I think a lot of dodge 2500s have vacuum brakes. I went with hydro boost because I was brought to the conclusion that hydro boost is more reliable long term, but I think it’s really just a matter of preference at this point lol

    • @omoffroad
      @omoffroad 6 лет назад +1

      ChucksCustoms,
      Look it up. Any basic brake flaring tool should include the adapters (size specific) to perform a double flare. Single flare is very likely to split and leak. All factory lines are double flared. Very very easy to do and produces a much cleaner stronger flare/seal.

    • @ChucksCustoms
      @ChucksCustoms  6 лет назад +2

      Nice, I appreciate it! My flaring kit is an old one I got from my dad so the adapters must be long gone by now if there ever were any. I'll definitely be sure to pick some up though
