Hi all, we will be taking a look at pombruv's Early Mediterranean campaign for War on the Sea.
We will command the Allied forces as we look to secure Malta and take control of the Mediterranean from the joint Italian and German Forces!

ABOUT THE MOD
This mod is NOT historically accurate.
If you are looking for a historically accurate mod with all the right ships and planes then you are out of luck I'm afraid. This mod isn't it - and never will be. Think of it as a fictional account based very loosely on actual events, a bit like most Hollywood war movies.
It is just intended to be a bit of fun so that we can spend some time pitting the British against the Italians and Germans with a little bit of USA thrown in later. This is just a series of opportunities to blow stuff up and have lots of battles - and that's it really.
Also, I have only a limited number of ships and planes I have been given permission to use so rather than just have Allied and Axis forces comprising 3 or 4 accurate ships/planes of the correct period, I've bunged them all in together just so you have plenty of things to blow up - and plenty of things to blow other things up with.
So ignore history like I have. Just go: Boom! Crash! Whizz! Brrrrrt! Sploosh! - and have fun for fun's sake. Forget immersion, it's just a game.
But, if you really, really, need historical accuracy then I believe a new more historically accurate Atlantic mod is on the way. There is also a similarly accurate Mediterranean mod in the pipeline too. I recommend you wait for them, I'm sure they will be much better mods anyway :)

Personally, I would go after Palermo and Taranto first. If for no other reason than to take all the pressure off Malta.
If you go after Marseille first, the supply line is really long, and I assume at the very limits of air cover. Possibly outside of land based air cover completely. That means placing your carriers in harms way.
In the end, you're the one playing this for us so I'll await your plans with great interest.

He is in 1940 if he would move at this pace he would need around 1000 episodes to get the us troops ngl
Churchill's going to have to go to Washington and kick FDR's backside and tell him to get his finger out, because at the rate Commander Taff is going at, this war will be all but done. Trust the Yanks to be late to the party!

Hope you don't mind, but I have provided a *very* rough pronunciation guide for "Luigi di Savoia, Duce degli Abruzzi", as I've seen you've had trouble a couple of times:
Savoia is "Savoy-ah" ,
Duce is "Doo-cheh",
Degli is "deli",
Abruzzi is "Ah-broot-zee".
You won't sound like an Italian, but it's better than a kick in the shins with a pair of hobnail 1912s.

If that Submarine Skipper survived, I see a Court Martial for recklessly endangering his command by thinking he was in a Destroyer
Taff for your subs, I think it’s sometimes better to have the torpedo Sub solutions to be around 80-100% to guaranteed a hit.
Also for the Hood/Incomparable Battle Group, I think it might be better to switch out two of the ships for carriers because a big task force like that need fighter protection.
I think those faulty torpedoes were because you were too close.
I have had this same issues with War on the Sea with torpedoes doing what they want. Wasn't able to get it figured out, I was told I was doing something wrong. I will say with all the hours put into sub sim games perpendicular is the best angle of attack. I have seen this same result with enemy subs with their torpedoes doing a complete 90 degree turn away from the target, it seems to be a weird character of the game it's self.
Did you try manually aiming the torps? Adios, Saracen.

What are those stationary B-17's sitting in the middle lower right, above Tobruk.... Are they a ghost, or did the order to RTB not get understood? Just worried about those Airmen, and how much they need a vacation! lol

Should probably turn off collision damage for the enemy AI? It’s bad enough that you get an unfair advantage because the enemy ships don’t know how to avoid each other.
Have you ever noticed that almost always the lead B-17 is the only one to get hits? What would happen if you ordered them to break formation and drop individually?

Taff never remembers that he can split/rejoin the groups up or order them to attack individually. He should be having the rocket attacks done individually as well.
Chasing warships with subs normally doesn't work... subs needs to stay in the are of enemy ships movement and hope to meet some...
Yes the might sometimes catch a slow merchantman.
Classic Mk14 torpedo issues.
Maybe you should've tried the 6000lb. bombs just to see if they do the job faster.
why didn't you use the aft torps?
Hm.... first, torpedoes have a minimum aiming distance (something like 400yards) but i would expect them to not explode, not turn away... maybe the solution was faultry bcse zero enemy speed? Anyway, after first fail, i would increase slightly distance and send one torp on manual...
Close distance gunfight is suicidal, enemy needs just one good hit on you and sub gets at least damaged so can't submerge due to risc of crushing... nono if trying a gunfight, then some distance is better than point-blanc...
Please change the speed of your boats and fleets. They all seem to be set to the slowest speed.
