I do enjoy the content you have! Look fwd to every video 🤓 Been using a lot of these tips for years but also learned some. That’s awesome for someone who is retired. Hope you and your family have a great year!! Oh ya, I usually heat up the end of a nail and let it melt thru the plastic bag 😬
C A glue to pull a splinter. what a GREAT tip. Also another channel said that the jaws of a digital caliper are machined perfectly flat so that they work better than tweezers to pull a splinter.
Great tips! Thank you! I use Glad Press & Seal in my small paint pans. Doesn't move! I keep a travel size baby powder in the shop for anything sticky. Glue over spray, etc. Just sprinkle it on & wipe away. Do a major cleanup later. I use a roll of parchment paper instead of wax paper, nothing sticks to it! Thanks again! This grandma appreciates all your tips & great ideas!
Sharing is caring & man have I've done some silly things. It's the simple things that most of us never think of. Thanks for sharing, have a safe & blessed time with family & friends this Christmas & a Mery at that.
I've followed your channel from the beginning and I really enjoy it because I like watching your progress. It takes me back to the days when I was a young woodworker learning new things. You've come a LONG way and should be very proud. Well done, indeed. But, you're gonna have to explain to me how you're going to "adjust" a metal speed square that's out-of-square.
some great tips! I have a couple of additional ideas. Once you have wrapped an extension cord you can secure it with Velcro. To hang a baggie on a pegboard hook use a hole punch (designed to punch a single hole in paper..)
When you wrap a cord around your hand and elbow like that your putting a twist in every wind. In time you'll have a really twisted cord. Instead wind it in a figure eight pattern so it forms an X over your forearm. No more twisted cords,
Great tips... but you left us hanging on the checking the square tip, how were you going to adjust it? I've watched other channels deal with the square issue and they say that combination squares (unless high quality) are notorious for being out of square... so how would _you_ adjust your square? I guess it's the subject of another SLC video 😁
Whenever I see your videos, I keep thinking about Salt Lake City. But your voice makes me think of Georgia. Love your work, it would be great if those things add up to you being in Canada.
Mixing epoxy on top of a soda can or a piece of wax paper requires a hand, hold-down, or fastener to keep the can or paper in place while the mixing is performed. Most woodworkers have some type of tape, e.g. masking, painter's or duct, on hand. Just lay down a few overlapping strips on your work surface and get to mixing. Let the epoxy dry, then peel and toss the tape.
I like to do fret work on my scroll saw, A LOT of small parts! I take 1/8in plexiglass, drill a 1/4in hole in it, attach it to my scroll saw table with 2 sided tape. Makes for a great 0 clearance table, and the wood slides on it very easy!
Great tips, you mentioned scrap wood, what is the best way or ways to store it? It takes up way too much room. Im also struggling with my work area being in the basement in a stone foundation, how can I hang items, or store tools? I hope you and your family are keeping healthy.
Scrap wood is definitely a challenge, but I have found a small lumber rack is very helpful. As for the stone foundation, you will most likely need to build a framed wall over it and use that to hold your tools.
RE: epoxy in underside of can - the can being full is helpful since it's less likely to tip over. But on top of that - cans generally fit inside of rolls of duct tape or masking tape, which are e x c e l l e n t in preventing tipovers!
I was wondering that myself! Only thing I can think of causing it if it was square when purchased is some glue or epoxy has gotten onto the edge and needs to be cleaned off otherwise I would think a square made of solid metal should stay square. Always buy metal measuring and marking tools, and check for square right away so you can return them if they’re not.
when buying squares always test them in the store. pick 2 squares and but them against a straightedge like the bottom of the shelving unit, then bring the 2 90 degree sides together and see if there is a gap. Guarantee you will find some with gaps. the no gap needs to be tested against others. when you find more no gap matchups you can buy one of them. You need to test several so you dont mate 2 complimentary errors together. Besides its free and other shoppers will start some very interesting conversations.
For the bags instead of putting hole in plastic you could use bookbinder clips. If you have to do the holes you could use paper reenforcement cirles like you use on notebook paper in binders to reenfirce the holes. Or go step further use a gromet.
HEY! Thanks for showing my 2tips for mixing epoxies. I have a few others but need to send pictures for a show and tell. How can i send stuff directly to you? Lea
Hey Clinton, I have an idea, how about 20 french cleat tips for someone using cleats in their pantry? My brother wants some help with suggestions on how to hang up his cast iron skillets, various kitchen appliances, etc. It would look a lot like a workshop, but would give you another angle at it. Come on, Clinton!
Can you make a tutorial on the marshmallow launcher in the background of you 960 fps launcher video? The one that looks like a grenade launcher? If so, that would be great
Thank You Clinton! All great tips! I use those type Velcro ties to tie up my ext. chords but adding that to your half chord tip is terrific! Can't wait to see how you square your square. Happy Holidays!
Love your tips! For a fantastic way to step up your extension cord tip to an even higher level, check out the Extension Cord Pro Tip video from The Essential Craftsman. It has changed my life! (well, the extension cord part of my life anyway)
Good tips overall, but I recently tried the one with putting the paint tray in a plastic bag, and honestly it made the paint more of a pain because the roller would stick to the bag and I felt like I couldn’t roll off the excess very easily. I’ll just stick to buying replacement cheap trays or inserts for nicer trays for a buck a piece or whatever to save myself the frustration.
If you expect a speed square to be perfectly square, you're living in a tree. The only type of square that you can expect to be perfectly square is a precision square. Even then, it will need to be replaced over time. The key is to always use the smallest square for the project.
I do enjoy the content you have! Look fwd to every video 🤓

Excellent informative videos.
Just love number “10”! Thanks for the video.
Very helpful video! Thank you. Peace and good fortune and good health to you and your family. The removal of a splinter, hack was great 👍.
Thank you very much
gr8 tips again 👍. When removing a sticker I warm it up with the heatgun and can tear it off easily mostly
Thanks for more great ideas! Wonderful! Be safe, be cool. Beach, NC
Thanks Bobby

Awesome tips!!!
Love the superglue removing a splinter!
some great tips! I have a couple of additional ideas. Once you have wrapped an extension cord you can secure it with Velcro. To hang a baggie on a pegboard hook use a hole punch (designed to punch a single hole in paper..)
The funny thing is that I could not find my hole punch, and that is when I remembered this tip.
When you wrap a cord around your hand and elbow like that your putting a twist in every wind. In time you'll have a really twisted cord. Instead wind it in a figure eight pattern so it forms an X over your forearm. No more twisted cords,
Put it on a French cleat lol
Nice tips. For the Kreg pocket hole jig I drill a hole near the corner(s) to hang it on the wall out of the way when not in use.
Another useful batch of tips. Thank you 👍😎🇦🇺
Great tips as usual! An idea for another tip could be you showing how to true up a square that's alil off.
Good idea
To get rid of sticky stuff dust with baby powder or corn starch. Works great with rubber cement, too
You make good tips, can't wait for.moretips👍👍🏆
Great videos... Can you make a video on adjusting the square?
Watch the #4 in this series
@@SpecificLove7 will do.... Thank you!
Great tips!
Glad it was helpful!
⭐⭐⭐Thank you, thank you, thank you, I often struggle with splinters, that tip is the best ever ⭐⭐⭐

How can you adjust a speed square? Or was that just a general statement
Enjoying the tips and tricks but: okay the square is out of square and needs a little adjustment; how do you make the little adjustment please ??

Watch the fourth video in the series and it should be the first tip.

Sounds interesting. Let me think on it.
#20 is it really the square or is it the wood? Best to do this on multiple pieces of wood and see if it happens every time

How do you adjust a speed square?
In episode #4
@@SpecificLove7 Since this is episode #3, I guess it will be upcoming?
Cable tip isn't safe. If you are using something that draws a lot of current, the coiled up wire can overheat, melt the insulator and start a fire.
Can you make a tutorial on the marshmallow launcher in the background of you 960 fps launcher video? The one that looks like a grenade launcher? If so, that would be great

Sometimes that happens, but use whatever works for you
Best way to adjust that square? Return it where you got it and don't buy that brand again.
