Watching these two go back and forth about Tebow was the best thing on tv. With every improbable, logic defying win Tebow got made Monday that more entertaining
@@robbie192 he almost ran for a thousand yards in not even close to a complete season. he made tons of clutch plays in the 4th quarter that literally won the games that put them in the playoffs. his receivers were an end of contract eddie royal who didnt care, eric decker lol and his tight end was a guy named daniel fells.. and his starting running back willis mcgahee got hurt and was out for a majority of the games that they lost when they did lose 4 out of 5. teams were blitzing the hell out of a mediocre line and he was sacked 33 times in 11 games and would have been more had he not been running the ball and literally willing the offense with no other playmakers on it and half of them jealous of his attention to begin with. but he was busting his ass.. so yeah idk if youve ever played ball, but when ur on defense you love it when ur running back aka playmaker is running hard when hes in there, it does indeed inspire you to play harder on defense. thats what it means. tebow haters either dont understand football and listen to what they are told or they have an outside motive to hate on him.. he was never given the chance to fail as in his first season and first playoff game beat a team that had been to the super bowl 3 times in the last 5 years with hall of famers on that defense. one of them being in the top 5 safeties ever.. the list goes on and on and on that explain why a 50 percent passing percentage is not that bad. this is also the time when social media perception was really dictating narratives for the first time in history and polarizing figures like teebow were an unwelcome adjustment to a lot of people. hes a victim of circumstance and could have been a great player if everybody had just left it alone. but thats not the world we live in anymore. THAT is what all of THIS means.
ugh, I was SOOO Sick of the Tebow mania. when I was in college, a lot of the people I knew who liked him were hardcore christians. and they liked him because he was so open to his religion. (not that there's anything wrong with being open) But good God he was over-rated. it was SOOO ridiculous. Heck during the Patriots playoff game, One heavily religious girl (wasn't even a Bronco fan) posts on facebook saying, "C'mon Tebow, make it happen, praying for a miracle." some guy responds saying "Too bad he's not good." then she responds with "Yes, but God is and he's got him so anything's possible." He responds "Yes... but I don't even know if god can come back 32 points in he 4th quarter." And she goes, " *God*, and like I said, he can do ANYTHING." Finally I say. "As far as Tebow coming back to win, I think it's time to GET REAL and say, Probably not gonna happen."
skip bayless' love of both tim tebow and johnny manziel is ridiculous he wrote an article before the 06 draft i think i was where he said the texans would rue the day for the next 15 years if they didnt take vince young number 1 overall howd that work out?
It is beautiful that not only did he play terrible but Brady literally threw six touchdowns weeks after Skip said in a clutch situation he’d take Tebow.
I hate how Skip was like "Why would you defer to Tom Brady!?" Um....because when the Patriots win the coin toss they always defer. So why would you do what they wanted you to do? Give them the ball first, they don't want that.
Man I remember being like 4 and watching First Take with my dad and they were talking about Lebron and his decision and the burning of the jersey has haunted me up to this day
And In turn I was explaining to you why Denver defense was ranked so low and called lousy by some. Because of the many one and outs which can wear down a defense because they are not getting enough time to rest for many stretches of the game. And I still believe the defense was the reason because of the many times especially in that win streak that they literally had to hold teams to 13-17points outside of 2 games in that streak and they did this for the whole game not one quarter of football.
lol notice how Skip completley ignores the fact that they lost 4 out of their last 5. He keeps at the whole all he does is win crap. uhhh no. Also, to this day Skip wont shut up about that Pittsburgh playoff game but he completely ignores this game, his memory is very selective when it comes to Tebow as is the case with most Tebow fans.
I'm not a Tebow fan, but I have to say I appreciate his existance for provoking the countless Tebow arguments between Smith and Bayless on First Take :)
The kid is a born winner, he's been beating the odds since high school, college, and I promise it will happen at the pro level. He has the heart of a champion and the will to win and a drive to succeed and improve. He will shock everyone again, I assure it.
Well, considering that the entire broncos team was mediocre, it's amazing they got to see new england in the divisional round. 1 game away from an afc championship match, with a crap team. You have to give em some credit for fighting.
Skip's arguing about the prediction he made when the prediction has nothing to do with the debate at hand. So what if you said he'd go 7-4? What the hell does that have to do Tebow's passing ability (or lack thereof)?
Not well. But Tebow himself was pretty bad until there was like 2 minutes left in the game. He can pretty much thank that defense for keeping him in the game long enough to go win it at the end.
If a defense is ranked "so low," (24th by the way), it is by definition a lousy defense. You can't say the defense was good and was the reason they made the playoffs, and then go and admit they were ranked very poorly. That's contradicting. Let's look at some other metrics. Denver's defense was 28th in Interceptions, 26th in forced fumbles, 20th in yards allowed, 24th in points allowed. So, the job of a defense is to limit points and take the ball away. They were sub-par in each category.
the funny thing looking back on this is they did the same exact thing to baker Mayfield 2 years ago.. the only difference is they actually let baker play
0:44 ??? Did anybody else notice those atrocious throwing mechanics by Tebow as he decided to miss a wide open Thomas. I don't understand why a great athlete like Tim, decided for whatever reason to.not deliver a football on time and accurately.
yeah only thing was Tebow was so god awful he didn't even deserve the opportunity to learn from Brady. And what befounds me is even though he was that bad. 37% completion of passes, a game where he had a 0.0 rating against 3rd stringers. Some people still say Jags should sign him?! But you know what say JAX did that, and Tebow would suck, his followers wouldn't blame him they would say oh its cause they brought him in too late or they aren't putting him in the right formations.
@seanman70 You're exactly right: rushing attack! And who do you think helped contribute to making the running game better? Tebow can run the ball a lot better than most quarterbacks, which is where he got most of his success. It's football101 man, when the quarterback can run, it helps the running game (if you played any kind of football you would know that.). So if you are going to make the argument that the rushing game won all those games, you are actually supporting Tebow.
Bayless brings up good points. SAS should shut his mouth. The fact that the broncos even made the playoffs this year is miles ahead of what Denver fans predicted for this year. If anything this year was a huge success for the team.
They had to split these two up because it got to a point where the debate wasn’t even pleasurable to watch.. They wasn’t letting each other talk.. Always yelling.. It’s like reality TV.. The drama was the best part of the show and for a sports theme show, that shouldn’t have been the case...
This is when Skip could make faces because of split screen then on undisputed when they didn’t have split screen he has to sigh real loud after everything Shannon said so you would remember he is still there.
Remember when Skip was still defending Tebow in baseball saying he’ll be a slugger for the Mets lmao. Shannon should bring that up when Skip starts repeating the same few things Baker accomplished on a stacked team that year.
Skip ignores everything that Tebow needs to improve in his game. When Denver won, it was "all he does is win", when they lose, it's Fox, the defense, and as many excuses as he can find. What cracks me up is how he keeps taking everyone's comment about Tebow's passing ability as 'he can't play'. I think he'll be fine playing for Belichick and playing behind Brady where he can hone his skills and become a legitimate QB threat down the road.
but if the packers lose, its all aaron rodgers' fault; not the o-line's, not the defense's; its all on aaron rodgers. its amazing how much he flips his stories & contradict himself. thats what makes him so entertaining though; thats what he's getting paid to do.
no but the point was this - those teams got out to an early lead on the broncos then the defense held them at bay drive after drive thus giving tebow a chance to make plays to score and help them win...i agree, manning will make them better but they do need to improve as a team... then again, as a fan who had to previously had to worry about peyton manning year after year when he was in the afc south, idk, manning may have a greater affect than you think, he has a way of taking control of games
Do you know why the defense was ranked 24th? because there starting QB had so many three and outs that the defense was tired simple as that and if you watch most of the games in the second half the opposing team would always run the ball why because the broncos defense was tired
The defense did suck, but again, they weren't bottom below garbage either. The Patriots' defense, as shaky as it was, still allowed only 342 points -- 21 fewer than the New York Jets defense that has a reputation for being one of the league's better units.
the defense was mentioned because in all the games that denver won in the regular season that got them to the playoffs the defense is what kept them in those games and allowed for tebow to pull off those "miracles"...had it not been for the defense holding teams at bay they would not have been in the post season...no they weren't great statistically but they did what they had to do to stop teams from scoring when it counted
Already addressed this. Denver's defense was just as bad, if not a little worse when Kyle Orton was completing 60% of his passes and keeping his offense on the field. Look up the stats, when Denver was 1-4, they gave up 28 points per game. So, don't give me the whole "Tebow made the defense bad" crap argument because it's factually incorrect.
As a Bronco fan,Im the first to say that the Bronco defense plays poorly sometimes but when you have a quarterback that goes three out out alot the defense is going to be tired..With that said Im going to sit here and say Tebow didnt contribute to the team because he did but everything you said was correct for the most part.... The defense played good, for the most part last year with no training camp under a new coach but somehow Skip likes to concentrate on the 4 blowout loses

Tim Tebow has never thrown an INT in an NFL playoff game.

I don't give 10-21 passing a lot of credit. I don't care if he did throw for 318 yards. His performance that day was due more to his receivers.
