What a monster. I did my first ever 2km in 10:56 the other day as o thought they were going back to that. Which now is painful knowing it’s the dreaded bleep test. Great video as always
I wonder why they keep adjusting and readjusting the fitness requirements. Back in my day in the infantry TA.......which admittedly was very long ago, the second mile and a half run, best effort, had to be done under 10m 30s. This was usually held the morning after a regimental dinner and even then, you had to be a right biffa to fail. And I am in no way built for speed!
yes much more emphasis on upper body strength than the army. you find out why when you get on the bottom field. absolutely shocking no matter how fit you are.
I thought all sit ups in the forces were done strict, with arms both crossed across your chest so you can’t use momentum on the way up? Is this not the case?
Not for the Royal Marines mate, they do things a little different. The RAF also do it this way. As long as your fingers stay on your temples throughout, unlike me, you can’t really get much momentum. Army have scrapped sit ups all together as part of there assessment 😬
Well the 2k is not going to be used anymore in the army they are just sticking with the bleep test for good. It depends how you like to run, do you wanna go flat out and then just hang out your arse for almost of the run or…. Take it a little easier and try to sprint finish.

Not sure to be honest, equally and science back decisions I believe.
Just to add, they've brought back the 4mile hare and hounds on the PRMC.

How fast should I be going on my 2ks should I be absolutely belting it or should it be more of a light sprint?
