- This was one of the first structure breakdowns I ever filmed, 4 years ago! We did not catch any stripers on that trip, so I never released this video. BUT I am 100% certain my interpretation was right on, as 3 of the 4 spots I marked up and fished where the same areas all the guides were fishing.
Always enjoy your informative and entertaining videos. Great insight to see how you use contour maps to pinpoint where to spend your time fishing. Your videos are a great help to guys like me who are trying to learn the art of structure fishing. Thanks for posting and keep them coming!
I tournament fish for blue catfish around ky, Tenn and Alabama. And it amazes me how spoon plugging applies to “almost” all fish. Every fishermen no matter what they chase could learn so much from this info.
I would love to see you break down some of the lakes and rivers I fish. Keep the great content coming!
As always - great information - thank you
Excellent “how to”. Thanks so much! I am in the process of doing Table Rock which is just North of here. I am also wondering about Don D and how he is doing.
Good stuff Jim...👍👍
Keep up the great content. Anyone know how Don Dickson is doing?
Hi! Just wondering what printer you use for the map segments you take in the boat with you. Thanks!
No special printer. Regular paper. The copies can get weathered, so I sometimes put them in a protective sleeve.
@@StructureFishing Thanks! Just thought your pages looked bigger than 8 1/2 x 11. I have a photo printer but was reluctant to use it's ink on a plain paper map. Really enjoy your lake breakdown videos!
Do lake decatur il.
Decatur is a very interesting lake. I 1st fished there about 5 years ago, while they were still dredging the lake. It has a very noticeable breakline around the entire lake (all basins). But the best structures seem to be the manmade structures- causeways/rip rap. That's were I caught most of the walleyes. Only caught a few here and there, stragglers, no schools. The last basin by the dam did have the best breaklines and a noticeable bar and hump by the apartment buildings. Even though the lake was dredged, the main channel is still silted in and not recognizable. I'l be back, as I think the walleye population seems stable and one of those "sleeper" lakes.
