Used to love your channel but now almost all videos are just one big infomercial 😕

Mia Majstorovic I hate to say this, but I agree. She went from a very relatable family vlogger to someone who seems to only need to make a video to show off what she has or for an advertisement. I am so sad about this.

Totally appreciate where you are coming from ladies. One of the things that pushed me right away from RUclips is how commercial and fake it can be on top of the fact that in order to do videos I would have put myself in a position where I wasn't being the best mother and wife I could be due to all of the other commitments I had on my plate last year. You'll be glad to know we are back to the daily vlogs and I'm stripping them right back to what matters; little snippets of what goes on in our lives with the aim of capturing the kids at each stage of their lives. This channel will be reserved for showing things like mum hacks, organisational tips, household routines and budget styling ideas. Sometimes you will see products, yes. But remember that just because I feature a product, does not mean the video is sponsored. I received no money in exchange for this video, only the product itself (of course I would not turn that amazing machine down) and while I've taken some time in this video to talk about the features of the machine, I have only mentioned the features I use, and how I use them in my laundry routine which has been a highly requested video over the years. If you have a moment, check out my last video "Chatty Life Update + Pamper Sesh" where I talked a little about where I have been mentally over the last year. While I respect where you are coming from, I really want you all to know that my intentions have never been financially driven, more that I needed to take some time away to make sure I was doing the best job as a wife and mother that I could, while still honouring the commitments I had already made to various brands.

I appreciate you replying Ash. By no means am I critiquing the number videos but more so the quality of them, which is mostly hyper commercialised and endorsing brands and products - a lot different to much of your older content I grew to love, like your saving for house at such a young age etc. But you do you and put yourself and the fam first. I’ll be waiting for your original style content 😊

    • @AshJackson
      @AshJackson  6 лет назад +4

Thanks my lovely, I suppose what I was getting at in talking about the number of videos I've done is pointing out the fact that Ive only really averaged one video every six weeks over the last year. Ordinarily, if I was doing 1-2 videos per week, it would be a lot more acceptable and fair to be doing 1 sponsored video every six or so weeks, you know? I had a few sponsored videos which I'd already signed contracts for prior to taking some time off RUclips so I honoured those and cut all my other content back to a minimum in order to focus on the family. I know how it looks though and I absolutely hate that it looks that way because my favourite type of content to put out there is my organisational and budgeting content. The fact that you've still chosen to stick around and back me though, despite the lack of old style content I've been putting out lately, means the absolute world to me. I'm truly very lucky to have subscribers like you and believe me, my old school content will be back in full force soon. Ive been working on a designer looks for less series using cheap Ikea products and making them look super glam which I just finished purchasing and planning for over the weekend so I'm mad keen to get that out asap

Ash Jackson yes that makes total sense now you’ve explained it that way. YESSS this is the content I am keen on as I’ll be moving out soon and would love to learn more!!!

I do all the washing on a Saturday morning. Usually 3 loads. Then I do another load of swimmers after swimming lessons on a Tuesday evening and include all of clothes and things used since Saturday 😊

Be careful with using vinegar and front load washing machines!! I had a front load lg washer and went through 3 seals in 1 year before being told it was the vinegar that eats the seals 😫
Once I stopped using vinegar I didnt have any more sealing issues.

I make my own detergent by boiling 2,5 liters of water and adding 40 grams of grated soap (I use Marseille soap which is fine for the washing machine). Then let it sit for 24 hours and blitz it up, put some essential oils (optional) in there and pour them into glass bottles. I love the smell, it does have a bit of a plain soap smell. But it reminds me of my grandma who always had everything nice and clean... For dryers, they have reusable balls (from cotton or something) and you can put essential oils on them for a nice scent. :) I have been making my own detergent for a while now, I would say almost a year. It has all kinds of added bonuses and I only have to make it every once in a while and it's super easy.

Oh wow thats so cool Charissa!!! I'm totally the same with that natural soap smell- it reminds me of the good ol days

It also saves a lot of money! And packaging and stuff... I use about 80-100 ml every wash load. We have wash loads of 7 kg. (Just for reference). You could obviously double or triple the recipe or whatever :) It's okay if it's a bit more watery than normal detergent!

Using wool dryer balls in the dryer cuts down on drying time as well as static and the need for dryer sheets. If you put a few drops of essential oils on the wool dryer ball and pop it in the dryer with your clothes, makes them smell fresh ( have not yet tried the essential oils on the wool dryer balls but I have used the will dryer balls and it does cut down static and drying time for sure!)

That LG twin machine Looks amazing!! Clever ideas. So many features too. You explain things so well. You'd need quite a large utility room as it looks bigger than your average machine. Too big for my kitchen 😂.

You should check out method, mrs meyers, or seventh generation. I know that method offers laundry soap, fabric softener, scent bead boosters, and dryer sheets.

Have you tried (or heard of) soap nuts? I’ve been using them (only on cold wash, not on whites since they tend you grey a little - and they work very well, and I use a few drops of DoTerra (tea tree or lavender usually) with it. We don’t have a dryer - which saves on the environment and your wallet too - so I usually hang it outside or inside.

Is the LG machine a washer and a drier? How do you deal with the creases in your sheets without an iron? I am hesitant to wash my sheets frequently because they become so creased and it takes a while to iron😬. Also would love to see a house tour when you fully furnish your new place! Hope you guys are settling in fine😊

So glad you're back to uploading on both your channels! From your latest vlog, your new home looks beautiful. I've just started using vinegar in my wash and loving the clean smell. For green products around the home, definitely check out ekoworx. Before buying I thought the videos on their website looked too good to be true but it actually is as good as advertised. It is amazing! Also love method products :)

Just curious.. Why is it that your house took so long to build, yet you’re still waiting on what seem like simple things? Ie. Wardrobes. Personally I wouldn’t have expected handover if these things weren’t done.

Me too Katrina! My grandmother used vinegar in her washing machines her entire life and after she passed I even got quite a few years out of her old machine! The only reason we upgraded is because we were given this one! Vinegar is the bomb
