I have 2 Voightlander Leica M to NEX adapters , and have had them for nearly a decade .... if Voightlander made an M to L mount adapter , that would be my first choice as my M to NEX are close focus with infinity lock and all brass and steel , superb quality.
Somehow I got one of these a few weeks ago without having heard anything about it. I knew from your channel that Close-focus adaptors were handy, and I'd heard that LLL were high quality, so I decided that it was time to get one. It's very beautiful, and fastens more confidently than my Novoflex adaptor. I'm keeping the Novoflex for the 35mmF2.5 and backup, but will be using the LLL with the 35mm Nokton II or any heaviier lenses irrespective of whether I need close focus.
Thank you Matt! Perfect timing! Yesterday I tried the 7A adapter with a new vintage lens and was wondering why the lens isn‘t as sharp at infinity as on my M9.
Hi Matt, this Adapter is also very good. And I got it in 1 week. DLX Adapter Leica M Linse an L Mount. It works excellent and gives me peace of mind …. Cheers Peter
The LLL helicoid just arrived a while ago. I am using a Summaron 35mm 2.8 lens on my SL2 and having the chance to close up with this lens makes it even better yet and it's my EDC lens now.
Nice. Ordered this a couple weeks ago, but just received a message that there were some production problems so it will be delayed... good to know you like it, seems to confirm my suspicions that it would be worth the buy and wait :)
Hi guys! I've watched the video, chose and bought myself 7artisan. But I have problem with mounting it to camera Leica SL2-S. Adapter doesn't click on the end and the camera doesn't detect any lens. Did you experienced similar problem?
LLL adapter is much better as 7A is not sharp at infinity. You can try unclick, re click some times to make better connection. In no good return it for refund.
Same downside as Leica, both are fixed. Get the LLL one for the major upside of L mount vs M mount with M mount lenses. Huge benefit of owning an SL series camera.
Im planing to buy a video lens set in M mount to adapt to L. But I am a bit confused with the static vs the movable adapters. Does it mean if I get the static I can’t focus my lenses?
I’ll be looking at this new LLL adapter for sure as the 7Artisan copy I purchased was not able to mount on my SL2 and had to return it. One never has too many adapters. 😊
Even though I'm not lucky enough to shoot Leica, I think your channel is awesome! I'm learning so much from you! If you ever are in Porto and need a place to stay, It would be a pleasure walking the streets with you.
This may be a stupid question but when using non-Leica class on an M10 how imperative is it to manually set a lens up in the "lens detection" menu in the camera? I do it with my non-coded vintage Leica glass but I've recently gotten an adapter for using some of my Canon FD glass on my M. Thanks in advance for your opinion and have a good weekend!
Just wondering if you've done any direct comparison between the Summitar and the very similar Summarit. The Summitar is my sentimental favorite because it came with my parents Leica IIIc they allowed me to use as my first serious camera. It was quite flare prone but IQ seemed fine.
may sound silly, but there's no Adapter M-Mount to M-mount, giving close focus on M-lenses on M-rangefinder cameras (may it at cost of no infinity focus), or is there?
I think the Fotodiox one works the same way as the LLL adapter for a little cheaper? But the inf lock tab on the LLL looks handy. I have a Fotodiox incoming soon. Hope inf works well.
@@MattOsborne-MrLeicaCom i see, does it go past inf or doesnt even reach inf? The Fotodiox close focus arrived and its nice but it can go past inf if twisted a touch too far. Does the LLL do that too?
Hi Matt, thanks for the video. How close do you really get with the LLL adapter? For example let’s take a normal Leica M Lens with 0.7m - is it 0.4 or even 0.3m with adapter? I do a lot of wristshots of watches handheld hence the question. Thanks!
You have a defective close-up adapter, my adapter works on infinity. Of course, you lose the benefits of the in-camera correction with 6bit-coded lenses by not using the Leica adapter.
@@MattOsborne-MrLeicaCom i was installing the waist level finder. And the darn focus screen fell out. I think this particular bronica sqb is cursed. Hey Matt, how's the quality of the Leica adapter vs LLL? LLL seems to be made of brass, so probably feels more solid? I cannot find anywhere what the Leica adapter is made out of. Would you think that they are comparable if money is no object, the Leica feels a bit better? Keep in mind i don't need the 6-bit encoding as my glass is all Zeiss.
This is more or less a dream coming true 😂.
Great.

Hi Matt, any downsides to using the novaflex adapter versus the Leica adapter when using m lenses on a SL2-s?
Same downside as Leica, both are fixed. Get the LLL one for the major upside of L mount vs M mount with M mount lenses. Huge benefit of owning an SL series camera.
How solid is the adapter, is it strong enough to handle bigger lenses like a noctilux 0.95 without any flexing?

Matt, can you still use the top wheels on the CL to bring up the magnification with the new adapter? Thanks
No for non-Leica adapters you need to use the top arrow instead (on the back)

Mine is fine (7artisan). Same as leica18771 which is slightly over infinite.
My 7 Artisan adapter also focuses to infinity on my SL 601. I wouldn’t give it up for a LLL that doesn’t focus as close.
Interesting. It almost works at infinity. I don’t use lens corrections
In theory using an adapter. I should be able to use this on any L mount cameras? For example BMPCC 6k Full Frame?
