Don't know how many times I've listened to this song, but i still get teary eyed when they get to the part that quotes the actual farewell address till the end. Thanks for posting. Christopher Jackson is the definitive Washington.
Benny from the original Broadway musical The Heights, one of Lin-Manuel Miranda's groom's men in his wedding, George Washington in Hamilton and a member of Lin-Manuel's freestyle rap group "Free Style Love Supreme". That's a brotherly relationship. I love these two.
@@brandosbongos4855Apologies. I was thrown off cuz I’d mentioned Bull in my earlier comment, and there’s a character named Benny on Bull. My addled brain 🧠 was going, “how could he confuse those 2 characters?” I will admit I’m relatively new to Christopher Jackson’s remarkable arsenal of talent so am unacquainted with his full résumé. I haven’t seen him as Benny in #ITH but will search it out. Thanks for the education!
I would love an original cast reunion of them all just singing the songs like the one they did for IN THE HEIGHTS ,it would be so good ❤❤🎉🎉 love his voice ❤
Christopher was cool, he came into the dressing room and gave us a pep talk. I’m trying to find the song used in the last performance. Do you know what song was it?
That was cool of him! The last song that was played was "A Night To Remember", but the last performance with all the kids was a 90's themed song that Wayne Brady made up.
Why am I sitting here bawling my eyes out right now?😭💔 Chris's voice is SO powerful. The original cast of course is the best I feel in my mind these are the Sentiments of George Washington it embodies the characteristics of great leadership displayed in a great performance
Please, let Lin-Manuel Miranda rewrite One Last Time for Biden's stepping aside - & Christopher Jackson sing it! #PassTheTorch #bidenpassthetorch #linmanuelmiranda #christopherjackson
Bro what does this song have to do with him owning slaves- 😭 literally almost all of them had slaves. They’re dead, slavery is abolished. Let’s move on. He still did great things. We can acknowledge the good and bad he did without lumping them together.
@@no.8952 Well, even after he died, his wife still had slaves... Note: "George Washington left instructions in his will to emancipate the people enslaved by him, upon the death of Martha Washington..." So they were still slaves and that was not great... George was OK but even he knew what he did was not cool. Personally, I don't think he really cared all that much...
Christopher's voice has always been one of my favorites from the original broadway cast. It has so much feeling and soul.
No one can top Mr. Jackson singing this song!
He is one of the only two entertainers to make President Obama cry...the other was Aretha Franklin
@@FreedomFighter2112 when did he cry?
Wholeheartedly agree! 🥰
Agreed
