I worked with a guy in Florida back in the 1980's he was from a town in Iowa and I think the name of the town was Odebolt, or something like that. His name was Kevin and he was a young man who left Iowa to live by himself and see how he liked it. He was a Mennonite or something and he had lived with his parents all his life. Kevin was one of the best people I have ever known. He was honest and funny and a complete innocent. My brother and I grew to love the kid and we were really sad when he decided to move back to Iowa and reconnect with his family. But it was probably for the best.
I live in Winterset. About 7 years back, I went to Roseman bridge at sunset. I was inside, and it sounded as though someone in boots was walking on top of it. I backed out, keeping an eye on the top, and there wasn't anybody near or around. The bridge is flat on top, so there wasn't any way to miss a person or animal on top of it. I now only visit during daytime hours. For the record, it's beautiful there. As far as scenery goes, I prefer Roseman out of all the bridges.
My Father did not predict the day of his death. Within two weeks of his death, about a dozen people told me he had visited them shortly before he died. He knew it was coming!
I grew up in Fort Dodge in the 1960s and never heard the story of the woman and her children dying run over by a train. In fact, my ancestors had a farm near Tara (and are buried there) and never heard the story. My great-great uncle was a train engineer in the 1910s and 20s on that line and I never heard of this. This is all news to me.
I love that the library gave him an opportunity to share his opinions and insights. However, his stridently loud delivery is very distracting and detracts from the points he tries to make.
I’m almost positive he is yelling because he is used to giving live lectures and you need to be loud for a group of live people, this was probably his first time his lecture was recorded.
The Crazies is a movie i saw while living in iowa back in the day. and at the time i thought it was fiction. after getting older i started feelin like. that writer from cedar rapids (maybe cedar falls). was tryna say somethin about. a portion of the population. maybe. maybe not. (The part of people hiding waiting in the closet to kill that Moore family, is what struck me)
The articles are from other places not necessarily from iowa. A newspaper in iowa reported, or shared from another place. Like the scared item. It was from Portland. Is there a Portland iowa? I think an iowa newspaper just shared the event. I dont think some of the things really happened in iowa.

I’m the 111th commenter I think I’m the 111th thumbs up. That’s strange. But what makes it even more bizarre is that I’m from Iowa too.
-reminds me of another Wisconsin grotesquerie… and fun book to peruse ; “ Wisconsin Death Trip” !! Keep the faith!

Turn on CC and turn the volume down, woks.for me..
I can't stand it when men speak clearly and loud enough for those of us with hearing issues. Ughh.

I used to go to school right across the street from here
Thankfully the narrator, Chad Lewis, is a native of Wisconsin and NOT of Iowa.
The narrator is far more bizarre than any of the folk tales
🤦♂️ I’m guessing you’re a democrat ✅
Iowa old,the rest under water,we were between like northwest africa an isand. The azores
This is not History off Iowa itself.

This is material for Fortean investigation, and, where is JR Bob Dobbs when we all need SLACK.😂

Everybody is somewhere, some more than others.
I am from iowa. And...
You are doomed!
Go State!
Any one in particular?
If any state should go, I think California would be a first choice.
Yikes I want to get into this but his delivery is awful.
Don't forget, Idiots Out Wondering Around!
And where is it you're from???
*wandering
WHY. do you have to SHOUT at your audience???!! We are not hard of hearing. I think YOU are bizarre!
I am hard of hearing! And I could barely hear him.
Ooops! The volume bar was clear to the left.
Dude is a unprofessional bozo the clown 🤡
Really awful audio.
This dude is a ham & egger yuk 🍳🥚
Bit loud mate .Aussie fan
He was stressing how weird Iowa was. It rivals Brisbane!
