  • This is a re-edit of a video I made last year around this time that I took down because it had copyright issues with its Christmas music. Hope you enjoy it!

    ❤. Watching anyone useca lathe is so relaxing. I almost burned my breakfast because i couldnt pull my eyes away from the screen. Lucky for me my nose works faster than my brain. Lol

    If something makes you laugh or just smile...it is worth doing it. if someone buys them because they make them laugh or smile....then you have made part of this world a happier place. Priceless!

    I noticed in the background you have a rigid table saw looked like the one with the granite top. If so , I have the same one hope you like yours the same as I do. Enjoyed watching have fun making your gnomes. I sell mine at the local farmers market. Jim's wood shop.😀

    i make little bird house and going to make some nomes. I enjoy just giving the away to people who visit and tag on birthday and Christmas presents.

      Indeed! And we all need to remember this more often. It's great to make things we NEED, but once in a while it's nice to make something because it's FUN.

    Just starting to wood turn and I kept questioning in my head why do people start with square blocks when its so easy to remove the corners on the saw and get an octagonal blank which would take far less chippings to get to round stock. You have at least shown it to be a sensible thing to do. thanks

      I don't always do it, but sometimes it makes sense, time-wise, as well as being easier on the turning tools.

    No more pounding iron? Me too... I'm turning bowls and such just for fun now. The old blacksmith shop is gone now open air cold storage now. K&M no more. Shrug time goes on huh.

      You have a left handed twin about your age near me, if he's still around, and he too is a skilled craftsman of many trades. If I bump into Mike M. I'll have him check your sites out, I'm sure he will agree and get a chuckle that there is an uncanny resemblance... LOL.
      Anyhow, I enjoyed your humor and work. So...

      @@WoodenThingsAndStuff ~ Some more than others, I spent nearly three hours this morning fine tuning a Stanley #45 for a plow cut for some drawer bottoms. Could have had the setup and cuts done in 25 minutes on the router table… but what’s the fun in that? I got to listen to the wood fibers actually being cut and I got to smell the pitch of the wood without doing untold damage to my lungs! Three hours vs 25 minutes… I know… crazy!

      @@sdvidal2121 I BOUGHT a Stanley 45 just cuz I found one at a good price and thought "I'm gonna use this to cut 1/4" grooves for drawer bottoms!"

      There's an idea. Less messing around with glue and drill bits, etc....Maybe I'll try some this fall.
