Such great acting, it seems so easy to believe. Real life subjects in an ever changing world. Edith is everyone's favorite 😍 ❤️ neighbor, don't you agree!!??
It would have never survived or even attempted in the 1950s or 1960’s either. It might have been made during the only time that people were receptive enough to watch it, fortunately for us. Also, done in front of a live studio audience every week.
People keep saying that Millennials like myself wouldn't last a single episode of this show because we'd definitely get triggered. Here's the thing, though, has any of these people noticed how easily Archie gets triggered? This clip is a perfect, and hilarious, example of it.
Those types of ridiculous remarks come from conservatives, which is hilarious. They mistakenly think the show is about "owning the libs." And yet the creator, the writers, the actors were all liberals. Creator Norman Lear said he allowed Archie to say those outrageous things specifically to hold them up for ridicule. He was shocked when conservatives thought the ignorant remarks were giving them a voice! Lear had to fight with the network to get these things on the air.
2/27/2022: Isn't it any wonder, I remain an old maid @ 50+? I was born and raised during this era of utter HYPOCRISY. Me, the offspring of two UNMARRIED parents(each one the ONLY member of their peers who had a child--ME-- meanwhile, THEY were raised in conventional households)who INSISTED on NOT having children BEFORE being married, ends up doing NEITHER!! Life can really punch a person in the GUT, from time-to-time!!🙁🙁😡😡😬😬

@@Kaemea I didn’t realize they had microwaves in the 70’s. Interesting. We didn’t have a microwave until I was in third grade which was early 80’s. Thanks for the info.
While microwaves technically existed then, the prices didn’t start coming down until the late ‘70s and they weren’t widely used until the ‘80s. A middle class family like the Bunkers wouldn’t have had one then.
Linda Easley: I NEVER understood that!! Then again, my mother was expected to be told when I was leaving her home to go out, and when I would return. At this stage, I was over 25😮😮😱😱!!
When our eldest daughter was at home and going to the local college, she still told me where she was going and when she’s be home- - I didn’t even ask her to, she was just used to it by then.😆
Reminds me of the weekend when I discovered that my dear saintly mother and my soldier dad were engaged to be married, them discovered that they needed a shotgun wedding. I fell off the chair laughing.

All in the Family would never survive if it was made in today's world. Thank goodness it wasn't! What a classic!

Agreed. It’s the best show. Nowadays you can’t joke around. It wouldn’t make it.
True
BS. You guys never seen Curb Your Enthusiasm or It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia!!??
Every time me and my brothers and even my friends seen Archie Bunker we all automatically think of my dad. They were cut from the same cloth.
Then heaven help your mother.
My dad also. Lol!

He even wore the same pants and shirt, lol it must be an old school thing.
@@debbiemullen2574
Except my dad wasn't a dock worker like Archie, my dad was a truck driver.
My grandmother was a quiet Edith and my grandfather was nicknamed Archie Bunket
The perfect cast.
Excellent acting, love rewatching this series😀
I wish they would post the whole episode. This was a hilarious one and the writing was so good throughout.
Fifty (or nearly fifty) years later and it's still funny.

How many little cabins do you have in your past there?! just that one🤣🤣
"The flaming Polock."
Too funny, but then try saying that in public today you just know someone is going to sued!
What a classic sitcom, thanks to Norman Lear and may he rest in peace. 😢
Ediths expression: "OH,,Did I just say that out loud?".... 😂😂 Pricelss.
I LOVED these shows!! 😎👍🏼
