- We cruised in November 2022 on the Norwegian Bliss with Norwegian Cruise Lines. In this video I'm sharing a tour of our balcony cabin so you can see what it has to offer and if you think it's worth the upgrade!
We've sailed in inside cabins, ocean view cabins and balcony cabins before. Balcony cabins are definitely our favourite.

Great video! We went on the Royal Caribbean - Wonder of The Seas during the week before Christmas. It reminded me of the this room. My wife and I are going on an Alaska cruise with Royal Caribbean in September. Someday I would like to try Celebrity cruises as well. Thank you for the informative video!

Great tour! This is really excellent as we have often thought if a balcony cabin is worth the extra cost. Great point about COVID - I feel the same! Having balcony access and fresh air seems like a must... and those are fantastic views when sailing! ⛵⛵
It's definitely my preference, but we have done inside and ocean view as well back when we were just getting into cruising. Sometimes the price savings is just too good to pass on the inside or Oceanview deals.

I loved the Norwegian Bliss. A balcony room is definitely a must. My room had the couch area close to the balcony door, reversed from this… which I liked because I could sit at the desk and put my makeup on while looking out the balcony door. Was a beautiful ship. Loved it.
It's a beautiful ship! We had that configuration on the Escape. I liked that there was more room to get in the closet in this set up. But either way loved having ocean views.
We will be on the bliss March 2025 for a Mexican riviera cruise 🎉
What a nice room! The little balcony is great if you want to sit outside and have a bit of privacy when sailing!

Yeah we really enjoyed the balcony and would sit there to enjoy a coffee or wait for the other person to get ready before leaving. I'd recommend it for the views 👌

My two sons, and their wives, invited me to go on a cruise, in 2019, and we sailed on the Bliss. I had a single cabin, which had plenty of room since it was just for me. In my cabin area there was a staircase which led up to an open area where people could mix and mingle. It had snacks, such as fruit, lemonade, etc. Terrific.

Looks beautiful! We did a cruise to the riviera maya and loved it. Nice room! And I love a good discount. The bed looked Good and the bathroom was nicer than a lot Of places we stay on land! But the best was the balcony! Thanks for sharing!

As a crew member my cabin was below sea level and the times I’ve cruised after, I’ve always had an inside cabin…so I think a balcony room would definitely be worth it!! The room looks so spacious and I love that the shower has a glass door! That feeling of the shower curtain sticking to me 🤢😅
I always wonder what it's like in the crew cabins. I've done inside rooms too but I like the feeling of being able to get outside if I needed to. And we've had a couple cruises with Princess where they used the shower curtain in the guest cabins... I HATE that feeling too 👎🤣

Glad it was helpful. I brought some strong magnetic hooks that I ordered on Amazon for extra storage/hooks in the room. They just stuck to the wall because they are metal. Enjoy the cruise!
I love balcony rooms! I’d never be able to cruise without one. I really like how they did the headboard in your room. And the little sofa. Nice set up!
It was a great set up, we really enjoyed it. I agree, ever since we had a balcony cabin, I can't cruise without one.

Great room tour! It has been too long since we have booked a balcony on a cruise, they really are nice.
I was also surprised with the small size of the safe on Norwegian ships..sooo tiny 😳
Right!? They really don't accommodate much in those safes. We just locked our bigger valuables in the suitcase in the closet or under the bed but not ideal.

We were on the Bliss in a Club Balcony Suite & we sure didn't see that coffee pot in the closet! We will definitely look next time and/or ask our Steward. Yes, it's a lovely room!
Definitely a handy option to have. Some of the coffee spots can be quite the walk!
I'm booked on the Bliss for November, 2023. I am in a solo studio (12539), but I have a friend who booked the same cruise and he has a balcony on deck 9. he has offered the use of his balcony as needed, which is a nice perk. Looking forward to the Mexican Rivera for sure!

It definitely was as relaxing as it looked. A nice way to escape the crowds on board and enjoy the ocean views 👌
We just completed a 15 day cruise from LA to Miami through the Panama Canal on the Norwegian Bliss in a Balcony Cabin. Your review of the cabin is very well done and very accurate. We would not book a cruise without getting a balconey. We have cruised on Celebrity and Holland American before, and we believe that both of those have larger cabins, and much larger balconies. With that said we felt that the Bliss cabin was very comfortable. Even though the safe as you point out was very small, there were plenty of shelves, drawers and cupboards for storage. Plus, the bed was very comfortable. THe bathroom and shower were also very nice.
Another final comment, we also had made a substantial bid to upgrade to a Haven cabin that was not accepted. We were very happy that our bid was not accepted as we were very happy with the balcony cabin we selected, so we ended up saving money.
Thanks very much! That's an itinerary I've been looking at for future. I found the cabins to be pretty decent on NCL for balcony. But we did have an inside cabin once and that was extremely small, dark, and not a good experience. On our Bermuda cruise we had an upgraded balcony room and it had an even bigger shower with glass doors - so that was nice, but it was assigned to us, we didn't pay for it specifically (it was the guarantee selection). I'm not sure if the Haven amenities would be worth it or not... I'd rather save the money and use it to go on another cruise!

I was in the hunt for a video like this as my husband and I are going on the Bliss soon and have a balcony stateroom on the 12th deck. I spotted three outlets at the desk but none by the bed. I use a Cpap so this is important. I will have to use an extension cord. Unfortunate they did not put one outlet near the bed. The rest of your room your is well done so I am ready with some information ahead of time. 😊
Glad the video could be helpful! I didn't notice any outlets by the bed - but I didn't move any of the nightstands or anything to check. We did bring an extension cord and a small power bar that came un handy. Enjoy your cruise!

Love the room. I feel like if I had a to get a room on a Cruise it would be a balcony view one at minimum.
Yeah I'm a fan. We have done inside cabins before but I just prefer the balcony ones especially after 2020.

Thats a nice cabin, aside from a nice view from 12th floor which is a little high if you ask me, not that im afraid of height. everyroom have universal outlets so vloggers, business folks(who for some reason still have to work will in vacation) and gamers will be able to charge and use their gadgets while in there. Ive never seen that guy in full form i onlu saw half of his body he looks like a viking now.
It was definitely a little high. Deck 8 had some good views from the Cavern bar. The plugs were essential for us as vloggers and a gamer, and we also needed a power bar for more 🤣
I just got back from a 5-day cruise on the Bliss on Friday, Jan, 12,2024. I have mixed feelings about the Bliss as my wife and I are seasoned cruise travelers, especially on this route to Cobo. But before I speak to the Bliss I am comparing this ship to Princess Ships. Some will argue that this is not a fair comparison because of the size and capacity of both. Bliss had one swimming pool for 4100 people I think that is really small, Princess has several and less capacity. The food on the Bliss was hit-and-miss at best but the food on the Princess is always consistent, I did not find the food on the Bliss to be consistent and at times tasteless from the lack of seasoning compared to that of Princess. The service at the restaurants was not quite as professional as the Princess I believe you can tell the lack of training and supervision of the service was not comparable to the Princess. The balcony room on the starboard rear quarter is small and awkward compared to the princess which we always book on the Princess. We did find many of the staff especially housekeeping (at least ours) were experienced and nice and did an awesome job. The chairs in the buffet area were all and I mean all stained either water or otherwise, and the couches on deck were showing signs of wear and should not because the ship was built in 2018. Don't get me wrong I am not sour on NCL I and my wife had a very nice cruise we enjoyed our time aboard. But I do not think we will sail NCL anytime soon it was our second trip on NCL a few years ago we did Hawaii and had a great experience. Sounds like Princess is more to your travel style. We enjoy NCL. I'd give Princess another shot... we went on 2 Princess cruises in 2014 but found them to be slightly underwhelming in the entertainment area. I did like their pool areas better though 👍
Do you have any recent experience with Royal Caribbean? I'd be interested to know how you would compare them to NCL.
Yes we've done a few cruises with RC as well. Here's my perspective:
Pros of NCL - freestyle cruising, no formal nights, flexible dining, often have the "free at sea" offers including drinks, a few specialty dining nights, internet, shore excursion credits, and wifi.
Cons of NCL - their internal cabins are very tiny
Pros of RC - seemed to have better quality dining
Cons of RC - harder to get anytime dining, they often seat you with strangers, have to pay for drink packages, dining packages, and internet separately which adds up quickly, formal nights - makes it awkward to dine in the main dining rooms if you don't dress up, internal cabins are still spacious
Both had great entertainment, ports & itineraries. Both had great cabins but RCL seemed to be a bit more spacious for internal cabins.
@@TheAverageTourist Thank you! You had me at "no formal nights" - packing a suit for a few hours of use seems ridiculous to me, and ties are my personal kryptonite. Like you, we prefer a balcony so the inside cabins aren't a worry for us. We haven't cruised in a few years (we've been camping in our trailer!). We'll definitely be looking at NCL when the time comes to consider cruising again thanks to your video - I hope we see more soon!

@@TheAverageTouristDo you feel like the drink free at sea package is worth it for 3 travelers (2 light drinkers, 1 non drinker) for a 7 day Mexican Riviera cruise? I think the gratuities were approx $450. Also do they still offer wine tastings on the Bliss? Thank you

We have medium sized suitcases and store it in the closet usually.

i personally would rather have two cruises with an inside cabin than one cruise with a balcony.
We've tried both - I personally find NCL inside cabins too small for 1. my claustrophobia and 2. because we need a desk area. But I would sail inside with Royal or perhaps try another line.

The most disappointing cruse ship experience we have ever been to. Just disembarked last week. It’s like a cruise ship for alcoholics with nothing else to do than drink away. Not a lot of things for us non drinkers to do. We are sticking to either Carnival or Royal Caribbean. The food and service are also poor. What a waste of money.
People like to drink on vacation while you clutch the Book of Mormon, how surprising.
