Hisuian Arcanine is a freaking BEAST in the main series. Its whole MO is ridiculously powerful nuke moves like Flare Blitz, Head Smash, Wild Charge, etc. that also damage the user, but its ability Rock Head means it takes 0 recoil damage from these moves. So it can spam them out at no cost whatsoever. Mind you, any Water or Ground move wipes it from the face of the earth, but it’s so fun to use and an absolute nightmare to face once its counters are gone.
@@jcwynn4075 that’s a very good point. I still see some recommended sets with both. That 20% chance of Head Smash missing does seem to rear its ugly head when you least need it. The only thing I can think of is WC hitting Urshifu-Rapid Strike harder, but Urshifu out speeds and obliterates Arcanine with Surging Strikes, so it would need to be optimal circumstance for that to work.
Imagine grinding out all those zygarde cells and being really excited to run it for the first time in the ultra league and your first match you get utterly core broken by a whimsicott 😅
@13:17 I’m curious why you forfeited the match though HSH? You were up 2 shields to 1, and I think you had enough health on Arcanine to get to the wild charge to threaten a shield or knockout. After that 2 shield the Whimsicott against Poliwrath and launch those grass knots. Anyway great video and you had some awesome rock slides against those fliers!
I understand that you may not have the resources to build one, but I've been using Diancie in the Ultra League and it's favorite snack is any and all fire types, as well as being fun to use. (It's still not good though)
There's not many that are getting real good usage atm. I am about to try and use my XL Rank 1 Chimecho, but building a team around it isn't that easy. Pure psychic typing with no real good coverage moves can get UgLy.
We had an exciting battle that ended up in a tie, because you were hit with a zap cannon on whimsicott and I didn’t expect arcanine could 2 hit KO a clefable. It was still fun and I’m kinda disappointed it was not featured. I think it would have been better to see it instead of the one you conceded the match.

If the opponent shielded, you try and win the game with 2-shield Whimsicott with a Moonblast on the Poli and a GK on the Gliscor; if the opponent let it go, you attempt a FW farmdown, and leave the match with back to back Grass Knots. Gliscor was low enough where one would threaten a KO.
Currently doing a girafarig, altaria, and dragalge setup in the retro cup. So much fun. I win an average of 4 battles per set which is record breaking for me xd
I've had a similar idea, with Trev lead and double fire, and Kanto Arcanine (better with poliwrath and Virizion) save switch with pf/wc ❤ Could I send you some recording of the battles?
Hey HSH, so I went into GBL last week & got a message that said, “Walk More to Unlock More Battles!”. I had done one set earlier, I scrolled up & down but there was nothing to click on. I exited out & tried opening it again a couple time but still just showed that same message. I was sick & didn’t think of screenshooting anything, I restarted the app later & it was back to normal. Just curious if anyone else has gotten this message? I know that Niantic has had this happen before with things they plan on changing in the future, but if they make a walking requirement for GBL it would really destroy it. …

Whimsicott is one of my all-time favourite Pokemon so might have to try and farm enough XLs to run it in my ultra league team!
It's definitely fun, can corebreak some teams, but man being below 2300 cp hurts. Not a mon I'd rely on for elo gains, but a fun mon nevertheless :)

Yeah sometimes when connection is bad it shows a "null state" where it shows walk to unlock. It won't be returning :)
