It is night which makes it difficult to see tornadoes and a large part of Lancaster County, NE is taken up by the city of Lincoln...plus the sirens in Lincoln may be linked to the county sirens making it impossible to sound the sirens in the county without sounding the sirens in Lincoln!!

Be glad you don't live in a psot in lincoln like I do. I have a 2001 SRN right in my front yard and they are much louder on the 2nd floor.

they shouldn't have replaced the thunderbolts around there... there is still one on top of lincoln high though and one near the airport... but those are the only thunderbolts i have seen hat still remain out there...

aaand they have been replaced... there is only 1 (?) un touched thunderbolt that remains. the rest of them i heard replaced another siren like the 3T22 at pioneers and branched oak. (which i ask what is the point of that?!?!? a 3T22 has no battery back up and neither does a thunderbolt...)

Why? Because they can't separate the various zones and blow the sirens in certain areas, only.

I'll bet there were sounding the sirens for precautionary reasons.

@heartlandham, I bet it was power failure because of
all the lightning and high winds taking place causing
the sirens to shut off and on. Not sure... either that
or they sound the sirens for severe thunderstorm
warnings too, which would be a very, very bad idea.
    Especially in situations like these.

I live in lincoln and yes We have 2 EMA offices here. I';m altmost positive that the sirens are all county linked and activated, though I know waverly has its own EMA office. I know they test on the same day (first wend of the month@10:15 am)

I agree with them being safe but there has been alot of arguments about blowing the sirens IN town when the city wasn't in the "warned area" you'd be surprised at how many people "bitch "about things like that. Even the Skywarn net director asked WHY the sirens in town were being blow and they couldn't answer that question.

This is fake. At 2:29 you can hear 2001s start up with no windup. Unless FS installed dampers and did not tell anyone...
