How I wish that I could have been there. But I witnessed one of the very last recitals of Cherkassky and that was transcendental.

I love the comment Horowitz makes at the end of this clip - Who will ask me questions? (response..I will) Horowitz..but intelligent questions!. Unfortunately they were anything but, however the Maestro went along with things graciously.

I am surprised there is no recording of the actual concert.
Am I the only one to have recorded this from the audience?

Very annoying that the top and bottom have been chopped off to make it look like widescreen 16:9

And got 80% of the earnings. This was stated on 60 minutes, he just sheepishly smiled.

How could Horowitz afford this entourage of piano movers, shippers, and personal piano tuner, which combined had to cost as much as his fee to perform.

I understand that Steinway paid for it. That's how important he was to them!

Come on... Thats ridiculous... Let's say a big hall can get to 2000 people, the highest price would be 150 dollars or even 200 lets say and the lowest 80 dollars. Even the 2000x200 dont make half a million dollars. 80'000 to 150'000 would seem normal for him. But more than that? Even with 80% of the gross.

Horowitz has no feelings, he dosn't feels the music, his implementation is weak and meaningless, just play the piano by playin, remember what beethoven said, if you do not feel the music is unforgivable, Horowitz has many errors mistakes in his execution, I fall asleep from boredom when I hear touch horowitz He is so Bored...
