CALPERS is very different from 401Ks. State employees are required to contribute set amounts to the program, as opposed to 401Ks where employees can decide whether or not to participate and can set the amount they want to contribute and how they want their money invested.
True, but Calpers participants can't individually pick where to put their $, as opposed to a Roth IRA or SDIRA from those I've known with Calpers accts..
