So happy and proud of U-Kwon for finally winning. He really deserved it all of his performances have been amazing and done with such a Block-b flare. I knew he was going to slay this concept, its such a block-b concept. Amazing dancing and you could tell he was having fun with this performance. So proud. 170~ and to the guy dancing with one shoe, you rock~
+Maiko134 riehata choregraph this. She is awesome as usual.Chris brown friend and dancer.Absolutely this dance is japanese style.Even korean doesnt dance like this.Korean more to us type of dance style.
bread90 lol this style of dancing definitely not Japanese it's African American, but choreographed by a Japanese woman who I heard studied in LA so ya..
I'm so happy for him. He had his wish to get first place granted, and with such a cool performance....he proved that not only can he pull off heavy performance based dancing but this kind of dancing as well :) I couldn't be more proud of him.
I have been reading these comments about cultural appropriation and how it took away from this dance.I am a black American my self and I have to disagree.I loved this dance and thought their outfits and hair were just straight fire, I wanted to be in this dance.U-Kwon did awesome too. But, anyway, if anything I loved seeing their hair like that and them dressed like that. That's culture appreciation if anything. You're telling me if someone is not black they are not allowed to listen to rap music or put their hair in cornrows, etc. That is just dumb. They did awesome, let's just appreciate that. 😀
I may be late too, but I also agree But not speaking for this video.. but here it’s totally appropriate but I hope Asian countries will stop looking down on us just cause of a simple colour (and not only Asians but anyone on this earth) but again I don’t think it was inappropriate here and I LOVED IT
Just because YOU see nothing wrong with it doesn’t mean it’s not a problem. No one said they couldnt listen to rap. But when U do blackface make fun of our culture but dislike the ppl who makes it. That’s a VERY big issue how South Korea profits off of our culture but has no respect for us. The history behind those braids and nobody cares. Not to mention we are a declining race. But once we die out that’s when they are going to care
But when they have issues about us having chopsticks in our hair we apologize and call out other black ppl who do it but when a Korean appropriates black culture and black ppl speak out about it everyone turns a blind eye. And then theirs that one blk person “I don’t see nothing wrong with it” like SHUT UP racism and cultural appropriation is still relevant and present in 2021 and we are sick and TIRED of being silenced!
i like every show of ukwon. his emotion is brilliant and he didnt look drop compare with all dancers. it's the swag feeling that only block b can do it
See U-know knows how to use the stage he owns it .. I was smiling through his performance Im so proud of him and Im sure people have acknowledged his dancing skills congrats baby .. FEELDOG is always comes d second and that itself a win .
U-kwon fits the crazy concept. His expressions are life. I suddenly miss Block B so much! He and his crew did an amazing job. The choreography is amazing!
I think Ukwon is an amazing dancer, he knows how to keep the audience excited and I've been a follower of BlockB since they debuted, honestly-- But the one thing that really drove me bonkers was how many times that boy stuck his tongue out. You look so silly, Ukwon! But hey, you do you. HAHAHAH Congrats, my friend, proud of you!
Okay, I'm probably going to get bashed here but I feel like I need to share this. These days, so many people call out "cultural appropriation" when people have certain hairstyles. But I'm sort of confused -- it doesn't seem like he is trying to take advantage of black culture or portray it in a bad way? U-kwon isn't trying to be black, because I'm pretty sure he knows what his true ethnicity is. I sort of think of it this way, when someone is doing a Spanish styled dance, they obviously dress up according to that culture because that's the culture the dance originated from. Like if someone wears a Sari, and they aren't Indian, I'm not going to flame them for "using my culture as an aesthetic" and "wanting to be Indian". I feel like "culture diffusion" has turned into culture appropriation.
Skye Zhang Okay, well I'm trying to understand the world more. I just don't understand. lol. Like U-kwon dressed up as a Joker for one of his performances, and painted his face white for the character. But, no one attacked him for that. But if the Joker was black, he would be called out for appropriating a culture. In my opinion, reactions should be the same? Like if you call out cultural appropriation, you should call out everything, not certain things. Feels like people are more interested in fighting each other than protecting cultures around the world.
Cultural appropriation is a real problem that often is misunderstood and misused.Cultural appropriation is not just about someone else enjoying someone else's culture or else everyone would be appropriating everything. Its the added factor of the people who claim to have made or own the culture not being recognized while others are praised for the same things that the original culture was shamed for. Now while Ukwon might not be intentionally trying to hurt anyone in any way, and i truly believe this, Kwonie
Girl, just watch the video and keep it moving. Just by you saying "paint his face white", I know you have a lot more to learn. I don't know if you're a person of color or not (not including Europe and all that shit), but you can't just say what you think is and is not cultural appropriation when you have not be appropriated. It's not even about trying to be black, that's missing the whole point.
Yeah, Bam Bam wrote the music and released under a pseudonym. The choreographer is the dancer in the yellow pants who just happens to be black/Japanese. Guess SHE has a totally different outlook on what culture appropriation is
ukwon..he always gave us one of the best performances..and became one of the best performers...but..he mostly being covered by his crew or his partner..idk why...but its always like that every episode.. anyway, congrats for winning!!!!!!!♡♡
I don't know why I came in to the comment section. I knew there was gonna be some drama😒 got people throwing around all types of wrong information. like no. please don't type unless you got firm facts.
TBF to all the cultural appropriation comments one of the songs they used in this remix was 'all the way up' which was by Fat Joe, Remy Ma, French Montana, Infrared and Prod by DJ Khaled han an M/V that has a group of women dressed as geisha's dancing in a similar style to ukwon and his crew. So I mean...idk if anyone of those rappers/producers are Japanese in anyway but you could apply the same sort of thing on them.
ok so now ppl don't care about the dance but comment about race. this is just a dance perform. they are free to wear clothes, imitate hairstyle, or whatever it is.
It's when you take something and don't give it credit where the credit is due. People are called Koreaboos but what exactly is this? In Korea there is a total ignorance about what black culture and just black people period. Variety show hosts still think black face and Afro wigs are jokes. Not saying everyone because people who are actually aware are conscious of their actions. But a lot of people in Korea seem to not be aware. That's the problem. Picking and choosing what you want. Wanting the look and sound but not the people. Like when everyone was freaking out about Alex joining Rania. Even though she was learning Korean, but see no problem with this at all.
When the dance slayed you so hard so you want to see how other people reacted to it in the comment section but instead you find people complaining over "culture appropriation" 🙄
Alison Eusebius okay sorry as a black persons it's something I noticed and don't mind acknowledging, im not trying to take attention away from the performance just making observations :)
They put so many hood vines dances in here!! :) The main girl with the yellow pants really stood out from everybody else. Not only is her dancing amazing but her facial expressions make it even better.
yasss bae rheita is here I've been following her for awhile now she's the best one with the denim jacket yass shes Japanese and she works with Chris Brown too.
Really great performance!! Really happy for him for winning, but just wondering where the "crazy" concept in this was? Maybe I am not interpreting the dance correctly but it didn't seem "crazy" except for the one shoe part?
is kind of funny people use the crazy word to show how much they love things, crazy about pizza, crazy about loving you, crazy about cars, but when comes to art they can only see crazy = mentally challenged people. Crazy can be good and applied to anything. Ukwon just used it in a positive way. If you think about it 2PM song Go Crazy is kind of a positive way of geting crazy too, just loosen up and having fun.
This was a great performance and I am really happy that he won, he totally deserves it. But did they need to have dreads? No. Did she need to have Bantu Knots? No. Did they need to have box braids in their hair? No.
U-Kwon always has great facials. He definitely knows how to get into character! And loving the dance
Are you an ARMY? Your username is the same day BTS debuted.
Yes I am! You're the first one to comment about my username 😊
Shownu need some expression lessons from Ukwon he learned a little from the krumpers😂😍

It feels good to be the first one😂😂
So happy and proud of U-Kwon for finally winning. He really deserved it all of his performances have been amazing and done with such a Block-b flare. So proud. 170~ and to the guy dancing with one shoe, you rock~
But he didn't choreograph this.
I never said he did choreograph this. But I'll clarify. It was arranged in a way that was done with Block b style. Nothing about choreographing it.
The concept this time is "crazy" right? Well then I ain't surprised U-Kwon won. He's from Block B, where their concept has forever been crazy
LOL
So true😭😭😍❤️
ukwon expressions and attitude on stage is really the best. It's like... he got that swagger XD

Moad Benayadi I'm not sure but it's definitely difficult dancing with just one shoe
U-kwon is my motivation to watch this show💓💓
Exactly 🙌

I have never seen him make it more obvious that he's in a group with Zico lmao
Deerly Luhan omg i love this comment 😂
Deerly Luhan i wish i could like this comment twice
Peachy Jaemin There’s U-Kwon for you. That’s why people say Block B are complete sinners and crackheads. Not one of them are innocent
His facial expressions are what make the dance 100% for me. He is so in love with what he does its amazing.
춤 진짜 디지게 잘춘다
Guys, I just went to one of Rie Hata's classes and I didn't know she choreographed U-kwon's dance at all so I'm like freaking out right now.

shes a queen of swag.I remember 6-7 years ago she teach hip hop basic in youtube.

Okay the dance was on point .the crew was amazing .but still I can't see how it's related to the "crazy" concept.

if you watch the episode he explains it
Yeah but they just dance polular us dance moves.. I see no creativity and interesting point from the dance at all
U-kwon fits the crazy concept. His expressions are life. I suddenly miss Block B so much! He and his crew did an amazing job. The choreography is amazing!
Woooow.....this is fantastic. His facial expressions are on point.

Hate and nitpick all you want.
But he still won 💁🎉😘

Look at him, bringing swag to a whole new level😆😆
ok so now ppl don't care about the dance but comment about race. this is just a dance perform. they are free to wear clothes, imitate hairstyle, or whatever it is.
Not when they are doing culture appropriation with the hair don't tell us blacks what not and what to be offended by
what's offensive about hairstyles again ? I'm honestly curious. no disrespect here.

Alison Eusebius the dance did slay buts there's obvs some appropriation in there lol
Tamala Bailey yeah but why is that important here? We should be discussing the actual issue which is the dance
Alison Eusebius okay sorry as a black persons it's something I noticed and don't mind acknowledging, im not trying to take attention away from the performance just making observations :)
Tamala Bailey yeah I think I understand
I'm always so satisfied with u- kwon performances.
i barely paid attention to ukwom tbh my eyes were on rie hata the whole time
I love Riehata and I love Ukwon. IM BLESSED BY THIS COLLAB @ GOD THANKU
They put so many hood vines dances in here!! :) The main girl with the yellow pants really stood out from everybody else. Not only is her dancing amazing but her facial expressions make it even better.
She is Rie Hata, the choreographer.

+christmas9lights Dab from korean xD what a joke xD
+christmas9lights Hahahahaha what a joke. Did he also started the nae nae ?? 😂😂😂😂
Really great performance!! Really happy for him for winning, but just wondering where the "crazy" concept in this was? Maybe I am not interpreting the dance correctly but it didn't seem "crazy" except for the one shoe part?
their interpretation of crazy in this routine was "Crazy about dance" not just crazy as a mental disorder
is kind of funny people use the crazy word to show how much they love things, crazy about pizza, crazy about loving you, crazy about cars, but when comes to art they can only see crazy = mentally challenged people. Crazy can be good and applied to anything. Ukwon just used it in a positive way. If you think about it 2PM song Go Crazy is kind of a positive way of geting crazy too, just loosen up and having fun.
MW EK Thanks for explaining! The dance makes a lot more sense now
i was biting my fist the entire time not to scream i fucking see why he won GOD DAMN THAT WAS DOPE
I NEED TO COLLECT MYSELF RIGHT NOW...
I'm happy and stress-free because I only enjoyed this video as an entertainment and didn't view this a negative way.

yes. my fave won again. let's go!!!!
Is this the second time he won??
He always wins against the crew he is competing with, but this is his first time winning the finals.
2021 (almost 2022) and I still watch this performance all the time.
These girls are KILLING it! Had to remind myself to watch Ukwon tbh.
I like how Rie Hata's dance didn't overshadow U-kwon. It was very balanced!
y'all the girl with yellow pants slayed it but anyways, it's ukwon we're talking about here. Congrats that he wonnn
Okay. I am officially a fan of Ukwon now.
This was a great performance and I am really happy that he won, he totally deserves it. But did they need to have dreads? No. Did she need to have Bantu Knots? No. Did they need to have box braids in their hair? No.
exactly they didn't need that. appropriating isn't cool
Amazing. Unbelievable. Nothing can stop them.
Fully loving the fact they didnt censor the lyrics out hahaha loving, awesome performance!!
