Hearts of Iron 4 UK Challenge - The war in Africa, England and Italy

With the Italian declaration of war, the Axis unintentionally opened multiple new fronts: in North, East and West Africa, in the Middle East and, as the Imperial leadership would soon realize, in southern England itself. While the Imperial Army kicked the Italians out of Africa in a lightning-speed campaign, the Royal Navy rapidly established control of the Mediterranean Sea with its surface task forces and its submarines flottillas begun actively hunting enemy convoys across the Atlantic. Japan´s intervention alongside the Axis powers was not sufficient to turn the tides of the naval war but distracted the Royal Navy long enough for the Germans to attempt twice Operation Sealion. With the growing threat coming from the Loyalists in Washington and the risk of losing Singapore at the hands of the Japanese coming from Siam, the Imperial Army was soon stretched thin, having to commit several Armies in different parts of the Federation. And London´s biggest fears materialized when the Portuguese joined the war alongside the Axis powers, re-opening once again the African front.
