Such an emotional song that gives me goosebumps each time i hear it. Fantastic to hear it being sung with equal passion from the Celtic fans at paradise and any ground they visit. Not one ounce of malice in this song. Just warms the cockles of my heart.
I read cockles as cookies and wished I had cookies in my heart, but it is going to be my wedding song I love this and wish we removed you'll never walk alone for it ☘️💚
Boy I've never heard this song,I reckon cause I'm from the USA Georgia to be exact but what a beautiful song,I felt every word made me feel like I was from Ireland,God what a beauty, what an absolutely beautiful voice MS Donna, when you have a voice like that and can transport people to the words of the song, just perfection love you MS Donna
Superb... I have heard 50+ versions Straight up... no frills.. I like the flute ... Grace Gifford gone but not forgotten... I was at her grave in Glasnevin last week...

You don't have to be a Catholic to be a republican. Educate yourself before saying such shit 🤔 also read the Proclamation. It asks for equal rights for all regardless of religion.. Just saying
They wouldn't be too happy now to see how spineless some Irish men have become, throwing away their freedom, thankfully there is some just pity there wasn't more🇮🇪🇮🇪🇮🇪
As we gather in the chapel here in old Kilmainham Jail I think about these past few weeks, oh will they say we've failed From our schooldays they have told us we must yearn for liberty Yet all I want in this dark place is to have you here with me. CHORUS Oh Grace just hold me in your arms ad let this moment linger They'll take me out at dawn and I will die With all my love I place this wedding ring upon your finger There won't be time to share our love for we must say goodbye. Now I know it's hard for you my love to ever understand The love I bear for these brave men, my love for this dear land But when the Padhraic called me to his side down in the GPO I had to leave my own sick bed, to him I had to go CHORUS Now as dawn is breaking, my heart is breaking too, On this May morn as I walk out my thoughts well be of you And I'll write some words upon the wall so everyone will know I love so much that I could see his blood upon the rose. CHORUS
Thank you so much for providing lyrics so everyone can really know the true meaning of this song. You used the old Irish version of his name which was Padráig Pearse. I hope this isn't rude, I only noticed because I called my son Padráig x
I am far away in Tenerife - but it reminds me of my grand daughter who was at the Man City v Celtic in Manchester on Tuesday (for Grace Zammit and brother Charlie)

Every time I hear this song I think of my sisters. Kilmainham jail was on my door step for years, I'd look at that chapel and think of these lyrics. Every song encapsulates the pain and the struggle we Irish have felt, our history, our passion. You feel every moment of this song, and if you're irish, you can still feel the pain in those lyrics. What those men died for and sacrificed will never be forgotten 🇮🇪💗
look up Grace by Caoimhe Mooney now that's a wee darling singing this song and she's only a baby , she's 11 but she's still a baby in my eyes and her passion had me in tears
I would love to hear you sing Amazing Grace you have such a beautiful voice it's so soft and soothing and I think you could sing Amazing Grace it would sound so amazing
I am part Irish on my fathers side I love the Celtic ladies my dad would listen and watch the videos all the time especially right before he passed away..
