One thing that Bison do that's fascinating for me to watch is when they feed on grasses after the snow has fallen a foot or more deep is them using their heads to sweep it back and forth side to side with the forehead as a plow when its too slow to plow with a front hoof

I notice the bison have a bit of a roundhouse kick like cows do with their back legs. Can they kick straight back like a horse? It makes sense since they are bovines, just wondering how safe it is to stand directly behind one.
The behbehs were adorbs waiting at the trough! At least with Dunbar's fit, everyone else might get a mouthful in a timely manner lol!
Have you ever considered or thought about cloning your best breeders? I've been watching the Mendota Ranch channel & have learned a great deal about it. Jason ( of MR) seems like a no BS kinda guy about it.
We used to have a mister in the horse stable that misted peppermint water, flies hate peppermint. Another preventative I'd like to try one day is Joel Salatin's method of letting the chickens loose in the pasture to feed on maggots lain in the poo of the cattle. Minimizes hatching.
Your herd is so cute. It must be terribly hard to send them to sale.
