As hard as it may sound you can plan for the recession. If you are working, find extra work and get an Invest--advisor. Protect your deposits by having enough cash in short term fixed income. Then cut your expenses. Minimal insurance, cut utilities.
I think the current market might give opportunities to maximize profit within a short term, but in order to execute such strategy , you must be a skilled practitioner

It’s absolute robbery! If the government or lender REQUIRES insurance and QUALIFIED the buyer at one price, they can’t TAKE YOUR HIME, because they charge more than you can afford. Buyers should not be forced to pay more than 5% per year more. They are STEALING OUR HOMES. Put the SOBs out of business!
Yeah it has …in the past 2 years mine has gone from 900 a year to 2100.00 a year and yes I had a rotted sill plate and they gave me 30 days to fix it or they were going to dump me and there all the same legalized mafia …and I’ve shopped around they all suck!!

I live in AZ and the company I was insured with notified me 3 weeks before renewal that they were not renewing due to living in a Fire Area.
My agent scrambled to find me new insurance based on my current policy that I have.
The new carrier has a policy for me but the yearly premium was 265% more than I was paying. $487 a year to $1217 a year.
I have the emails to back up this statement.
After raising my deductible from 1000 to 5000 and cutting a BUNCH of stuff out of my soon to be new policy it still went up $371 year over year. PLAIN AND SIMPLE BULLSHIGGITY.
The exact same thing is happening with health insurance. Cut coverage, omit co-pays until a higher deductible is met! 5k minimum per person!
This is being done intentionally. Without insurance, many can't meet their mortgage obligations. Not good.

I’m “in the biz”. If you don’t have insurance on your home, the lender won’t kick you out. They simply force place insurance.
If you then, fail to pay the payment, they may foreclose, depending on the location of the asset
If you can’t get insurance, the mortgage company will force you to buy their super high rate home insurance on pay that on top of your mortgage I believe is how it works.
There are a lot of things a homeowner can do to lower their premiums. I paid a couple hundred dollars to get a home inspection to highlight what could be improved to get a better rate from my insurer. By fixing corroded stop valves, mitigating my aluminum wiring with Alumiconn connectors and new breakers, and installing hurricane fabric (yes, I'm in Florida), I was able to lower my insurance from over $7,000 to just $2,800. My upgrade cost was thus paid for in the first year of insurance savings.

Those unexpected(!) life insurance and disability payouts are impoverishing the insurance companies - big time.
So, all short term insurance rates from car, through house, flood, RV, to boat, have been exploding to make up those miracle-poke losses; everywhere(!) in the US, regardless of REAL, local, associated losses.

Dude, I wish I could just accept responsibility if my house burnt down but its so expencive I don't even have that luxury of taking responsibility if I go through the normal channels because I HAVE to take a mortgage, meanjng the mortgage lender wants some assurances that they will be able to make back that money including taking the money you spent on the loan plus the house, and insurance money in case the house burns down.
Bro let me just build my house myself and accept responsibility for it.
Id still rather take my chances and potentially lose everything, considering the cost/benifit ratio of having insurance, vs actually having to use it are slim to none.

Those people who do disaster cleaning are huge ripoff artists… I rebuilt an assisted living room after a minor fire, charged the company $7500 to do it. The director asked me if my bill was correct. I said yes, why? She told me that the initial clean up, which they didn’t even pay for the dumpster was over $15,000. So ridiculous, simply a rip off.

Yes your OVERLY correct. I bought rental in the south & the insurance is $18,000 a year!!! I felt bad for a ptsd vet & he set the apartment on fire four days ago! On purpose!! They will probably cancel me next year. I seriously just want to sell & become a hobo😆 my youngest son thinks I'm foolish if I get rid of the property. I am burnt out. I thought the south would be better than California but they arrested him & let him go a few hours later. It all goes back to my last comment. I'll be reaching out soon. The insurance companies have been pulling out of California & Florida for the last two years. Traveler's & Farmers & a few other's. They are basically charging whatever they want. I foolishly did a 1031 exchange ( which they are going to try & take away with new tax law in October or November) I put $740,000 down & have a HUGE note. $600,000. Between the note & property taxes & insurance just those 3 bills are $95,000 a year. I do most of the work myself & I'm basically in business just to make the bank interest & pay the government & insurance company. It's a beautiful property & if it were a different time I might hold on but we are in upside down world & all I can think about is going back to California & trying to figure out how to serve God. My relatives who had a barn (dairy farm) burn down a year ago have still not gotten a payment. They have resorted to hiring an attorney. My home insurance continues to go up every year.

At last renewal my insurance increased 300.00 for the year. This renewal is up in August. This month, my escrow does an assessment to calculate the future increase. My escrow has jumped 500.00. My payment has jumped 70.00 a month just for the insurance from the start of my purchase. This doesn't include my car insurance.

Many of the insurance companies sell Life Insurance as part of their book. Massive spike in excess deaths since 2022 have caused devastating actuarial nightmares for their profitability. They’re raised rates on home owners and car insurance. Group life policies are blowing up all across the country

Even if you were able to pay cash for a home and you couldn't get it insured, it wouldn't be worth the risk. A tornado, flood, or hurricane would mean financial disaster.
