have seen a lot of videos where they change the bulb on these models and you are clearly the best, you can clearly see what you are doing .You film exactly and clearly in the lamp house, really well. thanks fo this video is very helpful👍
I had a similar low beam pattern with my street legal LED´s. Turned out it's very important in which position they are, slightly turned too much to the left or right created a messy beam pattern. Under ideal circumstances, the 2 LED chips on the "bulb" have to point left and right perfectly horizontal.
Excellent and clear tutorial! I would also add to re-aim the headlights after bulb replacement as the beam pattern in the video looks like a "hot mess". It only takes a few turns of a screwdriver, a flat wall, and some measuring tape. I'm sure only minor adjustments are needed, but rarely when you change the bulb is it perfectly aligned like the old bulb. Lastly, how has the long term results been since you installed these LED bulbs? Did you also replace the high beams as well.
This was done to a friends bmw, he still rocking the bulbs with no issues. We are planing to change the daytime bulbs and fogs sometime soon to led aswell, the high beams are much easier to do since the opening is right on top of the headlight housing.
@@thebravoconnection946 I wanted to replace the bulb nearest to the driver side indicator? Is that dipped beam? Is the connection from top of engine, or from the wheel fender? Kindly let me know soon thanks!
@@thebravoconnection946 did you actually do this? I am attempting it but the extended portion of the LED aft of the light doesn't fit due to a mounting bracket inside the headlight housing. I'm wondering how you got past that if you did.
Assuming these are street legal and going to pass the test with them? I've heard there are a lot you won't. So before I waste my money, would like to know what's safe to buy. Thanks.
I read on the f30 forums that LED lights in the halogen bulb housing shines like high beams. I don’t want to blind other cars on the road. Does that happen with these bulbs?
That is true on some early gen bulbs and some other low cost entry level bulbs but with good quality bulbs that isn't the case anymore, these bulbs have a built in glare shield that gives it a nice cut off so you don't blind people behind them. My customer on this car is one of my close friends and has been very happy with these bulbs.
I did some good reading on this subject, just to sum it up the reflector housing is not designed for this type of light wave lenght. You will end up blinding people unfortunately.
My 2015 F31 3 series, I swapped the high and low beam halogens for LEDs. The light is great and they have an amazingly clean cutoff. No one ever flashes their brights at me.
If the headlight is designed good, it can have 1000w lightbulb without blinding anyone. Or you han have the shities headlihgt with 20w halogen lightbulb and still blind the crap out of people. So power of the lights and blinding people IS NOT CORELATED
Most led bulbs can be turned or twisted to a different position to line it up straight since the actual bulbs and the sleeve where the top notch is can actually be seperated, if the bulb is not able to be in a straight position try parking facing a wall or garage with the lights on and see of the beam is leveled.
Is there any detriment to using LED with converters? Will they get too hot? (Compared to halogen I doubt it) Do they pull too much power? Most importantly, are they so bright that theyre blinding to oncoming drivers? I current use Philips Crystalvision halogens which are a big improvement but I still want something brighter. Great video!
Friend a query. How can you install for the high beams? it is impossible to install as it has a base that prevents it from being installed. attentive, greetings from Chile. any solution
If you pause the video at 19 sec you can see the access cover is on top next to the light bulbs, it is much easier to remove. Just twist the cover off you can access the bulb on each side, hope that helps.

Great video👍🏽 I just have two questions 1) Can you change the day time running light to LED as well? 2) Does that build that you change make the high beam brighter as well?
For the day time running bulbs you can change to led , I believe it was a t10 type bulb but you need one that is canbus ready so it won't show any error codes and should be a slim type, the big round ones might not fit. For the high beams the access door is on the top of the housing and you will need another set of led lights, I think it was another set of h7. Im actually going to be swaping all those to led soon aswell as the fogs. So ill do a video on that later.
Try reversing the connection on the led bulbs, if they don't turn on flip the connector from the led bulb to your bulb harness connector and it should work.
@@andrewdiaz4670 possible causes could be a bad relay, headlight switch or fuse, assuming you installed leds and they where working before then check make sure the connection is good on the cable and didn't come loose and the fans are turning on on the bulbs, but you already checked the fuses . These Bmws have 2 or 3 fuse locations the fuse box behind the glove box , another under the hood all the way top left on passenger side under plastic cover and and there might be another on the trunk center back under the cover. What I would do is try reinstalling the original h7 halogen bulb and see if they work, in that case the led bulbs are defective but since they work with you unlocking the car I suspect a bad switch. Just need to go down the list and check everything.

The bulbs that came off your vehicle are they also h7 halogen type? And are the led bulbs you bought also h7? If they are, they should fit, one thing I forgot to mention on the video is on most led bulbs if for any reason you have trouble installing you have the option of twisting off the led bulbs mounting plate and it comes off and install that first to the headlight, then after just slide the led bulb in and twist it to lock it in place. Take a look at your led bulbs on the mounting plate you should be able to twist it off and the led and fan assembly will slide off.
