    Garry Marshall is damn excellent in this scene. I think he would have been great in a Martin Scorsese movie (Casino being an obvious example.)

    I love that Albert Brooks is making his pitch in a bathrobe and slippers.

      In the film the Security Guard says, "You can't come in the Casino dressed like that". Albert Brooks (David) replies, "I saw the Electric Horseman, an animal road through here with lights on it". 😂🤣😂
      FYI, the ELECTRIC HORSEMAN was a popular movie in the late 70's with Robert Redford and Jane Fonda. You have to have seen it to get that joke....obviously.

    You learn more about the reason Vegas exists in this 4min clip than you would in a 4year history course. Brilliant dialogue & Garry Marshall is beyond perfect. PS..the Desert Inn was torn down about a dozen years after this movie..Vega$. The more thing$ change....

    "We're finished talking." I have had to use that line a few times. Delivered with an unblinking composure, it tends to work out rather well ... as long as it's the last thing that I say.

    Thos movie made me realise why i hated all the crappy sitcoms with canned laughter that werent dunny at all.....if you like this film try Defending your Life.. another Albert Brooks classic.
