It took me days to edit this video because so many important Korean words begin with the consonant ‘ㅇ‘, which means there were so many words to deal with.
You already know one expression at least!
    안녕하세요!!!
    There you go!
Lots of question words and family member titles also begin with this 8th consonant of the Korean alphabet.
Why don’t you check how many of the ‘ㅇ’ words from the video you know?
While watching the video, please try to repeat after me.
The words I’m introducing through this video are from the TOPIK word list.
Please don’t forget to click ‘Like’ and share this video with those who like the Korean language.
    Thank you!!!

    Why 여권 probnounce 여꿘?

      Good question! 😄
여권 is a compound word, which is a combination of 여 and 권.
여 here means 'to travel' and 권 means 'a document'.
Since it's a compound word and 여 in this word functions as an adjective modifying the following letter 권, there is supposed to be 사이시옷 (inner ㅅ) which disappears in the modern Korean language.
Since 사이시옷 (inner ㅅ) used to function as the meaning of 'possessive' like 'of' in English, and it still needs to function although it is not visible, we need to pronounce 권 -> [꿘].
It's not easy to identify if there used to be 사이시옷 or not in every single word, so whenever there is a word coming up with a stronger sound although it's not written that way, you may want to take notes that it's pronounced this way and that way, and memorize it by pronouncing it properly.
It's not easy to explain this subtle yet detailed rule in the Korean language.
Honestly, even Korean native speakers do not know these rules.
They just pronounce the words the way they have heard without knowing why they are pronounced that way.
As you get to know more Korean words and hear proper pronunciation (Please do not practice listening skills by listening to AI voices!!!) and repeat them yourself, you will gradually understand the rules without really learning them.
      Hope that helps!
