I just ordered a Leatherman ARC holster armor pocket clip one with side clips for the bit extender or the ratchet I have the bit extender right now but will order the ratchet for the arc can't wait to try it out and see how well it works hope it hold up for every day carry
Oh, having the same option able to hold either form of bit-driver is a great change. I was actually going to delay my purchase because I wasn't sure if I could get a ratchet driver or not, this completely obviates that issue.

Since i got my arc the thing i miss the most is the gut hook and old claw looking can opener!!! Maybe parts for the near futur... the gut hook i use it to open carefully plastic packaging and tie strips and the claw can opener i used it to get dirt out of my nails 😂.

Just finished the video and am excited to receive mine but I have a question: can we get a horizontal carry variant with holes for a third party clip? I'd prefer to carry it at the back of the belt but want a way to take it off and put it on without removing my belt every time I get in the car.

The Third-Party-Clip version is compatible with a variety of off the shelf metal and plastic clips. There are details and recommended clips on the product page that show when you have "Third party" selected.

Thats a solid work of art. I was debating for days if I was going to get the ratchet or extender mod and now I don't have to worry about it. I do like the bit holders for leatherman specific mod, however a lot of people use the wiha double end bits with the ratchets. Would it be possible to get some on the back? I know you couldn't do another but maybe 5, for everyday use would maybe excite people. I've used both bit if I'm cranking out work I usually do the double side 1/4in bits.
This is sick. Only thing I don’t like is having to buy that specific mini ratchet, or find as different way to carry what I already own. Not a deal breaker though. I’ll be following this and likely order one some time down the line.

Just im into designing nd tinkering on 3dmodels myself and not sure which way I'd like to wear it and i have a resin printer and some tough resins aswell as fdm with some tpu I'd like to try it with to see how they hold up,atleast to try before having it done in stronger materials from shapeways maybe, also spending too much money already on an arc atm right now plus trying to justify the resin I bought haha😂
I sell through Shapeways or ZapWizard.com (Made by Shapeways with a pretty face). I don’t sell my files, they are not designed for FDM at-home 3D printing, just SLS. A resin SLA printer with a nylon like substance maybe could. But I don’t share my files anyways just to the copy cats a step behind.
Question about the Barnacle bit holder. How tightly does it hold the bit? I only ask this because I am constantly flicking the pliers open. I use it as a fidget toy haha. Will the bit fly out, or not? Thank you in advance!
Zap do you happen to know if anyone carries the Leatherman ratchet? The only ones I see are people selling them for an outrageous markup on eBay ($300). I’d be fine with an aftermarket version made by a different company if it’s the same fit in the holster!
Hello there, new viewer here. Have you thought about making a version of the holster (3rd party clip compatible) that instead of the Ratchet/Extender Grip has another 711L/bit holder side? That way it will be slimmer and it will allow me to carry the 711L and 11 additional bits? And that potentially can fix the blade popping out issue?
Will you be making a holster for the Roxon Flex? I would imagine it wouldn't be impossible since, to my knowledge, the Flex doesn't have any outside protruding tools. Although the locking mechanism would be different, you might get even more purchases because of the lower entey price for the Flex.

I have seen a few people switch the blade side for left handed operation, I cannot think of a way the Arc would still fit in the holster with the blade retention. Am I correct and it would it need to be a clean sheet design for left handed holster and blade orientation or is there a way to make this holster work with a swapped blade?
Lots of time in CAD. I use Solid Edge which allows for much more tweaking and sculpting of the solid model without the restrictions of a history based modeling. I also make all the features as modular bodies I can add/remove as needed. All around an accurate CAD model of each tool.

Nope. The material is Nylon 12 and won’t scratch the tool. Now by default the face to the tool is exposed and so it can get scratched from the outside world, I am working on a version with a closed face for those looking for that option.
Yes, the Barnacle bit works with either the ARC or P4 and any of my holsters. The Barnacle has to be mounted on the outside away from your belt. The ARC should fit into your P4 holster already, but the upcoming holster will have a perfect fit and the 711L slot. Note the ARC holster will also fit the FREE P4.

Currently the same as the garage 005: $58. That may change once I have the final cad file and calculate the profit margin, but it won’t change by much if any.
The "Full armor" and "Pocket Clip" are two different variants. The "Pocket clip" version is needed for either the Pocket Clip or Barnacle Bit holder. The Full version is only compatible with the lanyard loop.

God it's such a shame that I need to move my pocket clip to the other side for this to work. I know to some people, it might not be such a big of a deal, but as someone that carries the arc without a pocket knife (many times in my pocket), it's too much of an inconvenience to grab it out of my pocket and flip it to use the blade every time. This seems like it's the perfect holder for the arc, I'm torn..
@@alexjeon5863 if the clip stays then there simply isn’t room for the holster pocket loop, or the holster gets 1/4” bigger (which costs more too). Docking the blade facing your body ends up turning the tool around for most people.
i saw someone mention this before, it looks interesting. I think i am going to stick with the sheath the arc comes with though, i like how it covers the whole tool
I hate my Arc sheath. The tool sits low, making it difficult to grab and pull out. And the flap is way too long. Theres a bunch of empty space above the tool when closed. It seems to have been designed for a bigger tool, or I got a bad one.

@ZapWizard i didnt like the empty holes (esthetically) so on my arc i installed a lanyard loop (originally sold for free p4) the other side still has original pocket clip. It literally can't be much thinner unless you have a thinner tool. I do sell a slim version which removes the side features and just holds the tool and bits.

Getting that snap sound is tricky. Tiny changes make the difference between “thud” and “click”.

If you don’t use the 711L you can put a bit into the same spot.

Not super-tight. It is meant for quick finger access, and slamming the tool probably would dislodge the bit.

You can dock an arc into the P4 holster. The thumb tab pushes one of the front grips a bit, but it does work if you already have that model.

Pretty easy, you can see the ends of the bits and just push out the one you need.

It will fit the Volty Switch also. I haven't physically confirmed it, but worked with a customer who had one on a prototype. Mine is on the way.

Yes, it should as the blade is the same position as the ARC. I just haven't verified it because my P4 is heavily modified.

@@alexjeon5863 sorry no. Blade on the outside. If I had one with the blade inside then the side options end up hitting your belt.
i saw someone mention this before, it looks interesting. I think i am going to stick with the sheath the arc comes with though, i like how it covers the whole tool
I hate my Arc sheath. The tool sits low, making it difficult to grab and pull out. And the flap is way too long. Theres a bunch of empty space above the tool when closed. It seems to have been designed for a bigger tool, or I got a bad one.
I am thinking of making a full guard or at least partial front guard version. You would have the bottom front exposed to push the tool loose.

Have you got a job offer from LTG?? ;)) I've seen similar slide in options before so was also curious what drives your decision to have face open vs full enclosure with some openings to push tool out?
@@uzbeck2006 It shows off the tool. I use my tools, they will get scratched, it is patina just gets better with time. I should patent these.
@ZapWizard i didnt like the empty holes (esthetically) so on my arc i installed a lanyard loop (originally sold for free p4) the other side still has original pocket clip. Now i wonder if my set up will fit your holster. Or hard to tell without physical test. Thanks for your time replying to my crazy thoughts😂
Btw the lanyard loop looks great and works for me as I will use a lanyard to secure most expensive multitool in the world 😂😂

I think the idea is good, but the execution is not. That holster is just too thick, you'll be bumping everywhere.
It literally can't be much thinner unless you have a thinner tool. I do sell a slim version which removes the side features and just holds the tool and bits.
