Man ..TZ coming in hard with the life lessons.... Let's enjoy it while we're here my friend....Keep up the great work .. And definitely deserve the 1000 subs and more...👍💀
This is such a relatable episode. We all cherish memories from our childhood. Being an adult sucks and we always have that nostalgic trip to our younger days. The ending is so touching and beautiful. It's okay to look back and cherish good memories but there's a difference between having nostalgia and being stuck in the past. We can make good memories even as adults and and look back on them years from now. Another excellent analysis, Anthony. Such a bittersweet episode.
Heeey wassup Charles, hope you've been well man. I agree, there's a difference between general nostalgia and simply being stuck in the past. It can be an issue if we do that at the expense of the present. Thanks as always for the watch and comment. Have a good one & take care!
LOL.. I love the line: " It's not everyday that someone comes to your front door claiming to be the adult version of your child from the future.." I laughed so hard when I heard you say that in your New York accent.
Your killing it man! Don't stop! Before your channel, I hadn't watched The Twilight Zone in a long time but you've made me start revisiting them. I had forgotten all about this episode.
Hey that's awesome to hear Nye. BTW, I was inspired by you to start work on a B Movie....and it is a rough one, lol. Thanks for watching & have a good week!
All work and no play make Jack a dull boy. The themes and messages of this episode are ones I hold dear to my own heart. It’s hard to transition from our innocent childhoods to the grittiness of adulthood yet we must try to remember those simpler times in the midst of these hard ones. Great analysis, Ant!
Great way to put it Jon. The transition from childhood to the grittiness of adulthood...but one things we must always keep...Star Wars. 😁 Thank you for the watch & comment bro. Much appreciated, have a good one.
I often wonder if going back, the possibility of time travel occupied Rod Serling's thoughts on some occasions. He had 5 time travel vignettes on The Twilight Zone that come to mind. This one, a trip to Willoughby, one where a pioneer traveling through the desert with a wagon train short on water, finds himself in a modern day diner where he receives future information about his small child son. Another where a man travels back to the night of Abraham Lincoln's assassination and he vainly attempts to foil the act. The other is where during a trip to a small town the traveler encounters an imperialist at a dinner table and after setting the pompous man straight he's questioned by a young woman he's become enamored of only to know she, as a school teacher will be killed in an upcoming fire. Suffice it to say all the stories had a touch of melancholy, yearning and sadness. As you pointed out the lesson is to make your current time in life as happily memorable and comforting as is possible.
Hey Mario, yeah I think Serling managed to cover so much in these types of tales. As you said, there's a sense of melancholy, yearning and sadness. I felt it too in 'The Time Element' the pilot I recently covered, but he also touch on the importance of making your current time in life as happy as possible. Thanks for the comment, be well & have a good one!
I love your editing style! You're doing wonderful work and you do this episode justice :) This one always makes me cry, when he's talking to his dad on the carousel and during rod's narration. I've seen it over 5 times and I still cry every time!
Heeey thanks Pootis, yeah I think with each one, I learn new tricks and tighten things up along the way. No doubt, Walking Distance is a tear jerker. Thank you as always for watching. Take care & have a good week!
Excellent review and commentary, sir! Walking Distance is for sure one of the top tier TZ episodes for so many of the reasons you described. I'll admit that as I get older and things start to change rapidly, this episode really tugs at the heartstrings in all the right ways. I love it so much, especially the relationship between Martin and his parents, which is so unusual in a show this old for them to be enlightened enough to accept the possibility of time travel and have this meaningful talk. As well, my career takes a lot out of me so I also find this one very relatable and always try to remember, as important as work is, you need to live life and this episode reminds me of that. Keep up the great work!
Oh this one definitely hits me harder at different ages for sure. But it is especially relevant and relatable right now. Thank you for checking in as always Cinecrisis. Be well man & have a good one.
A Stop at Willoughby is in my top 5 favorite episodes for the same reason... I actually find Walking Distance to be the more sad episode between the two of them, but I'm apparently in the minority.
Dude, keep it up! I love these videos, there's not nearly enough Twilight Zone content on RUclips. I'd love to see your take on some of the less well known episodes.
Thank you so much Liz! The lesser known ones are fun because they are typically ones I am less familiar with too. I appreciate the watch & comment, have a good week! : )
I grew up with TZ, I learned a lot about human behavior and social and mental issues and ended up working with abused kids and then a pilot. This one is my favorite since Im kind of old fashioned and would love to have this moment as an adult. I shed tears every time I watch this episode.
Another great video Anthony! I remember this and young Ronny.. this was a really nostalgic type episode. Makes me teary eyed every time. Cherish it all, cause it goes fast. Have a great evening.
This is one episode I definitely remember, I've always been a sucker for time travel. I liked the simplicity of this story. Like you mentioned, they don't go on about the space time continuum or anything like that. It's simply a message of appreciating the present and looking forward to the future. It's so easy to dwell on the past whether good or bad which is why I've always made it a point to appreciate and welcome change because change is constant. Great, great review of this wonderful episode!

You knocked it out the park Anthony 💯💯 I remember watching this one. I like how he made himself as a kid have that accident, and how immediately as an adult he suffered. We all wished at one time or another to go back in time in our youth, but liked how the father reasoned with him to let his younger self enjoy his time. Great analysis on such a moving episode my friend 🙌

Hey DMG, thanks you for watching. So far all of these have ben fun to discuss and go into a bit. I'm glad there are still a lot left. Thanks for the watch & comment. Stay safe & be well!
Yeah, a top episode for me for sure. For all those who have longed for that vibrant and wonderful quality felt in youth -- when the world was simpler and hope evergreen. Everything seemed possible then, and for most of us the darker aspects of reality were still blessedly at bay. Who wouldn't long to go back? Maybe that's heaven. Gig Young was a fine actor and elevated a great story idea to its worthy execution. Beautifully bittersweet. On a whimsical note, this episode always makes me want to try a chocolate soda -- with three scoops.
Hey Hop, hope that you have been well. 'Beautifully bittersweet' is the best possible way to describe this classic Twilight Zone entry. Thanks as always for the watch, always a pleasure to hear from you. Take care!
I haven’t seen Walking Distance in a long time. I remember the gist but not details, like Richie/Opie being in it 😃 Heck of a story though. Great recap and wrap up at the end too. Nice work per use, Anthony!
I was late to the Twilight Zone party, as I've mentioned. Hadn't seen a single episode until I started watching the series in full. So I actually started from the beginning. The first episode was my first episode. And as good as the first few were, this was the first episode that really stuck with me; where I knew the series was truly something special. And that very well could be, like so many of us, I'm just a person stuck in a near permanent state of nostalgia. As always an insightful review with top notch editing and clip choices.
Same here man, same here. I am the same way...in permanent nostalgia zone. You know when I was writing the script I resisted the urge to poke fun at myself, LOL, my whole channel is mostly older movies or tv that is super nostalgic to me. But even in general, the biggest & newest movies, especially sequels, are usually dipping into nostalgia too. Even the latest most slick superhero movies are based on characters that are decades old. But that's a whole other interesting, though related convo. Thanks as always for checking in and commenting. Be well!
Awesome review Anthony. Serling had a way of exploring the themes of nostalgia and time travel multiple times and yet each episode is fresh and engaging.

Moral of the story: Adulthood holds its own adventures and rewards just as our childhood did, so long as we remember to go and look for them ✅️ The scene with his Dad giving Martin his sage advice is heartbreaking 💔
As always you make me want to watch lots of TTZ. This episode sounds great. I love anything with time travel and messing with future outcomes. Fantastic video as always Anthony!
Great episode! I always wish that I can travel back through time. But I guess that's the message. Something could go wrong if you aren't careful when trying to explore the past.
i like how theres a shot of a sign that says "homewood, 1 1/2 miles" and then martin says "that's homewood isn't it?" and the guy is like "yeah about 1 1/2 miles"
Such a beautifully done episode with an excellent central performance from Gig Young. It’s relatable to any adult as we get older and sometimes want to relive our youth. For me: definitely don’t want to go back as there were really dark days

@@FeverDreamlandTheater I` enjoying checking them out either way - having not seen the series it`s interesting to find which episodes to look out for! :)
In my top five, Mr. Dreamland. I love the ultra close-up shot of Gig Young when he's at the soda shop. Frank Overton is superb as the father. He was later in Fail Safe, Dark at the Top of the Stairs and To Kill a Mockingbird. A poignant, retrospective episode.
Hello, I'm new here on your channel. So excited to be here on your channel. So excited for your future uploads. Cheering your success and let’s stay connected!🤗💖
Hey man. It's been a while since you've done a TZ episode I've seen and it's a doozy. Personally the most attractive aspect of the concept of this episode is not reliving childhood but the opportunity to meet my younger self and give me some life advice and perhaps an almanac. Lol. I've seen a story very much like this but don't remember from where. Perhaps it was the 80's TZ but I'm not sure. It was deffo in colour though. I'll have to read the other comments maybe someone else has said the same🤞. I enjoyed this video very much Anthony👍🏼👊🏼.
Vas! Yeah man, this is such a fun concept to play with. Meeting yourself as a kid is such a crazy idea. The episode does not seem to focus on the main character creating a paradox. This one feels like it is more about the emotional journey. I think the fact that he causes injury to himself is important though, maybe it is meant to be a metaphor? In any case, thanks for commenting man. Be well! 👍🏼👊🏼
Hey good to meet a fellow TZ fan, Proud Mommy Sara! Hilda is awesome. : ) Her channel is so much fun, I just checked out your spot as well and really like all the variety and you made me hungry with that Batman pizza. Have a good weekend and thanks for the support. : ) Be well!
I gather many people besides me have noticed that a lot of leading male characters in the TZ are age 36 as Martin Sloane is. I know many people have this as one of their favourite episodes, I put about 20-30 ahead of it. We're all different, I mean there are many genres of tv and film
Hey Patrick! Thank you for checking in & good to hear from you! You are right, I forgot about that one! 'Game of Death' was his last film role.... "released nearly six years after the film's star, Bruce Lee, died during production in 1973."
Hey Mozam, they are available on streaming services, Paramount Plus or Amazon for example...or you can always check into the DVD or Blu-ray box sets too. Be well!

I will have to check out this episode. Sounds like the waterworks will be on by the end. Fantastic video FTD!
Hey thanks Bis! Yeah this a very sentimental one, Serling at his best.
Everything in this works so well, like you said, such a poignant, retrospective episode.
Be well! 👍🏼👊🏼
i love this channel, i love your accent and your sense of humor
Hey thank you! Happy to hear that & happy to have you here. Enjoy! 👍
New here from Hilda DC. Great review. I love twilight zone. You have a great channel. Keep up the great work.
Wow I haven't seen this one since I was a kid! A really good one with a good lesson. Good review.
Hey Rob! Good to hear from you. The life lesson in this one was really strong. Thank you for the watch & comment. 👍
This is my favorite episode for sure. I got choked up the last time I saw it.
Excellent video! Twilight zone is my all time favorite show.
Hey Co-ople of Nerds, great to hear from you - thanks for the watch and kind words. Be well & have a good week!
Great review. Happy Twilight Zone Day!
Thanks Henry! You too!
Thank you for sharing your thoughts and feelings on another great Twilight Zone episode review. 😉👍💯
Thank you for watching riverguy!
I might just steal the ice cream soda rating system.
Ha ha, go for it! Dude, I could go for an ice cream soda right now as a matter of fact. Thanks for watching man. Be well!
I gather many people besides me have noticed that a lot of leading male characters in the TZ are age 36 as Martin Sloane is. I know many people have this as one of their favourite episodes, I put about 20-30 ahead of it. We're all different, I mean there are many genres of tv and film
Love this, I think what I loved the most about TZ was the morality reminders some of the episodes have... Like in this one. I'll be watching! 💖
Hey Lern, yes the life lesson was especially prominent in this one. Thanks for the comment & for watching! Be well & take care.
Gig Young was in Bruce Lee's "Game of Death". I don't really remember "Walking Distance" too well but it looks like a great watch.
Hey Patrick! Thank you for checking in & good to hear from you! You are right, I forgot about that one! 'Game of Death' was his last film role.... "released nearly six years after the film's star, Bruce Lee, died during production in 1973."
Bob Wall died today, also starred in Game of Death. He played Carl Miller.
Where could I find all these episodes?
Hey Mozam, they are available on streaming services, Paramount Plus or Amazon for example...or you can always check into the DVD or Blu-ray box sets too. Be well!
Thumbs up awesome job guys. 👍
Hey much appreciated! Thank you! Have a good day!
Absolute Classic #7 for me
There are 3 tv shows that I can watch over and over again and never get bored. This show I Love Lucy and Columbo. Add in the Prisoner for good luck
Heeey fellow Columbo fan! I have the boxset, been meaning to revisit it for a while now.
Very good my friend 😊
Thank you very much!

No doubt man, if you get a chance, it is well worth a watch. Thanks for checking in Gin! Take care man.
Such a poignant episode that can ring true for many of us, longing for nostalgia, wanting to escape that grueling of everyday life of today
Agreed totally. I think this is another one we can all relate to at some level. The daily grind is not easy. Much thanks for checking these Nakeisha and dropping your thoughts as well! 😁

Hey Daniel, I hear you. I've enjoyed those marathons for so many years too, not everyone one is a TZ fan, but at least you still have the classic to enjoy. Be well & have a good one!
Only black and white show I can binge watch!
