They could put a licence on it that's fair and pretty permissible, like a Creative Commons, Share-and-Share-Alike-Non-Commercial. or CC with Attribution.
Sparrows would be on the slightly crazy side to not want to make these on a large scale. You both have done a great job, and saved them on one of the largest costing parts of any manufacturing companies costs: R&D. Not only that, because of the viewership of both your audiences, there is a ready market for these. Again, great job, both of you.
Two dedicated experts pool their insights and get a manufacturer to produce a highly refined tool at attractive cost....now how cool is that! Thanks guys!
If Sparrows accepts it and will build it, great. I hope however that either way the blueprints are made available for a small donation to a charity or an organization like TOOOL. Like if Sparrows commits to building them they'll also sell you the plans for 15 dollars, 5 for them, 5 for TOOOL, and 2.50 each for Bill and LPL (because I feel they should get paid something). If Sparrows doesn't accept it then LPL and Bill could set up something where if you give 5 dollars to TOOOL you get the plans, if if you're a member of TOOOL...
Bomb defusing competition? Lol. I think Bill would be a ringer on that. I think the next collaboration video should be “Building the ultimate challenge lock”
I admire the idea that you both gave away this invention, zero greed. Really impressive attitude from you both. I would however take steps to ensure that any manufacturer keeps their word on your vision. Get legal paperwork done an secure your vision.
Superb series, great design evolution and a final product to be proud of! Hoping Sparrows doesn't pass on this golden opportunity. Congratulations Bill & Harry...you deserve the recognition, and a few celebratory drinks! 🍷🍷

I've been picking stuff for years with paperclips and whatever I could find to get the job done. Finally bought a pick set and am looking forward to learning to pick better locks that have stumped me in the past.

Guys, I have to say that the work you two have put into getting this pick put together and made is exceptional. I am so happy that it turns out that Sparrows took you up on your design, as I am akin to a labrador in the respect of my loyalty to a brand, which in my case is Sparrows. All of my picks and some of my other equipment is all Sparrows. So I personally would like to say thank you both for your amazing work, thanks guys. Also a huge thank you for been greedy and giving your design, for free as long as the manufacturer makes and sells at an affordable price which for us people who would like to purchase one can afford to do so. The pair of you are superstars, THANK YOU!!!
If Sparrows turns this down, see if PACLOCK will pick it up. They support locksport, and they might like the challenge in selling their own pick with maybe a new line of disc detainer locks.
Seems like a perfect thing for AvE to learn his fancy new mill with. I don't see any portion of this that couldn't be done there. You guys did an amazing job, I can't wait to see where you go with it.
I really really appreciate this what LPL and you did and offer this as a sort of open-source shows what good guys both of you are. I follow both of your channels for a while now and really like it. Thank you, thank you for the videos and hopefully an awesome and affordable product. Many kudos to both of you
Thanks to both of you for giving the prototype to the locksport world and not retain a financial interest that would increase the costs to the end user
A marathon contest between the both of you guy's! The Chinese version looks cobbled together from spare parts. The "BozLaw" disc lock pick looks professional in all aspects of it's design.
2 Thumbs up Guys! As a Locksmith - I love watching your video's. You're better at lockpicking then I am (although I only pick locks when I need too). You've inspired me to look into lockpicking as a hobby as well as part of my current job. Thanks again and I would LOVE to buy one of these picks (when available.) -- Dave
Great project and result - really happy you guys got together to make this for the community. Just getting into lock picking and almost bought that cheap pick you showed but will wait for yours to come out! Thank you
These lock picks are a wonderful piece of work. I have really enjoyed this entire series and what a brilliant finish with the stainless steel version! Great work!
Haven't tried picking disc detainers purely because of the poor tools (At the price point) and modifications needed to get them to be useful. This is going to open up a new level of the hobby for me if it gets into production! Great stuff guys
Absolutely brilliant job guys ;-) I'm just an hobbyist as you say and I really don't want to be forking out £100's of pounds for a tool just to pick a lock for fun, but I would be willing to part with between £20 - £40 for this tool because I can see how the development has gone plus the thought from both you guys to bring it were it is now, very much appreciated for what you have produced for us all ;-)
Having Sparrows make this would be absolutely phenomenal. I've been looking forward to something like this for quite a while and have a lot of respect for Sparrows products. Amazing work and dedication to both you Bill and LPL.
Hats off...!! Loved this series, you both have done a fantastic job on creating an awesome pick... hopefully we don't have to wait to long before it goes into mas production... 👏👏👏
These all look great and I can’t wait to buy one and try it out without having to explain to my wife why I spent $250 or more on a lockpicking hobby tool. I am sure the more expensive ones are actually worth every penny if you need it for decoding, etc. I don’t know much about manufacturing but it seems like the parts could be made by not-for-profit vocational/trade schools in small production runs and sold to a distributor to raise money for the school.
Hi Bill and Harry, Great tool, great design, great camaraderie, it permeates the videos! What's not to like ...? Hope some Manufacturer decides to run with it - well overdue. Regards, Brian.
End product looks fantastic. To determine who gets which prototype you should have a 4 lock pick off but using picks you make from bobby pins or whatever. Good job fellas
The pick is fantastic for so many reasons well done to the both of you, a great series thanks for the time you guys put into it. I really hope that sparrows start making it..., I’d definitely buy one.😎👍 Have a great weekend.👍
Amazing job guys! If you ever wanna get rid of any of those prototypes i'd probably pay a great deal to have a collaboration piece from you two phenomenal lock pickers. Hopefully Sparrows can find a way to mass manufacture them for a good price. Take care guys and keep up the great work!
All of these parts can be made using what is called a CNC Swiss screw machine which can start with a 20 ft rod and produce a tray full of parts automatically. The big problem is the volume of products and the programming required to produce each part here.
Just awesome guys, just awesome! No 2 guys better to put this design together. Good on Sparrows for considering this project. Of all the companies out there, I assumed Sparrows would be the one to take this on. Sparrows, if you are watching, put me down for one!
Well done fellas, this has been very interesting watching your process to get this pick up and functional. Hope sparrows decides to take it on at the right price point, cheers matey's

Really a nice piece of work. Ok, Bill, being a mechanical engineer, I could understand this coming of age with all the mechanical know-how and everything but having a lawyer pitching in and seemingly, knowing how to use a lathe and the difference in between copper and bronze, that is rather surprising, in a good way. I am looking forward in buying your product one day.
Thanks to both of you, this was again a very enjoyable watch. The suggestion below by divyansh elementum of you two visiting some locksports manufacturer would seem like a nice idea, if the travel logistics can reasonably be arranged.
Very cool outcome! Great job. Liquid teamwork. If Sparrows doesn’t want to do it, release a 3D cad drawing on one of the open source hardware sites and you will see Chinese made ones on eBay and Amazon before you know it. Nice work fellas!! From what I can tell seems to be very user friendly and effective pick, looks great as well! I would defiantly buy one, if sparrows chooses to start producing them.
This disc detainer pick is truly a work of art--well done! I can't wait to purchase one when they finally make it to market. +1 Vote for Sparrows producing it. Similar to some of the previous comments, the two of you should build a custom challenge lock, possibly with a puzzle component to it. I've watched a metric a$$ ton of videos from both of you and the common theme between you guys tends to be locks that you wouldn't use to secure your trash can or stuff that's been modified and sent to you as a challenge that would be unobtanium to most of us out here. How about something you would actually use instead of the parade of useless locks. PLEASE! I have a couple of other ideas too, if you need them... Love the current/ excellent, BB & LPL, videos. Great Job and collaboration on this pick. I’d be down for getting one should it become available at reasonable price. Also I’m happy to report that I’ve slowly chipped away at my own naughty bucket thanks to regular practice and perseverance. That and getting additional lock picks also helped.
I'm sold.... I would love one of those. I've only helped in the invention of one tool, and ran into the same issue as you guys.. I couldn't afford to mass produce, and i am not a salesman... So I found the guy that I wanted to build it, and agreed to just one free off the press...
Really nice collaboration with excellent result (I checked Bill's glass recycle bin and it was Full of EMPTY whiskey bottles) PS: Let Sparrows I will buy one
THIS is why the lock sport community loves SPARROWS!! I myself have been saying I hope Sparrows picks this up, but so have a few others. And that’s the only company I’ve seen anyone in this series mention.
That looks like a great pick. If things don't work out with sparrows, I am a mechanical designer and have contacts with local shops that I would be happy to get quotes from. Of course I am not interested in financial gain or running a business either.
Loved the collaboration. Since you asked a reasonable sequel would be to modify the tool an make it to 1. tension on the bottom and 2. make a half moon tension/pick part (for abloy generation 1). Keep up the good drin.... I mean work. Cheers
That's stunning, love being able to swap parts out and seeing the development process as well. Would love to see Sparrows making it!

I just got my sparrows disc detainer pick and can’t wait to start using it. Thanks guys.
You guys are nerds... and I love it. This was a fantastic collaborative project guys!!!
This is me placing my order in to buy one. Brilliant tool. brilliant video.hope to more.👍
Really nice collaboration with excellent result (I checked Bill's glass recycle bin and it was Full of EMPTY whiskey bottles)
PS: Let Sparrows I will buy one
You guys never stop surprising me with your content albeit I wanna buy the third or fourth version if at all possible either way great video guys!!
Of course I am not interested in financial gain or running a business either.
it's amasing! I REALY want to see you 2 pick some locks together, with your new made pick!
Loved the collaboration. Since you asked a reasonable sequel would be to modify the tool an make it to 1. tension on the bottom and 2. make a half moon tension/pick part (for abloy generation 1).
Keep up the good drin.... I mean work.
Cheers
