I didn't mean this comment as a fact that they sucked (although, BoF DQ...), but mostly that they stopped for some reason. Suiko 5 is excellent, and although I didn't finish Wild Arms 5, I liked what I played. Let's just pretend that Breath of Fire 6 doesn't exist for everyone's mental health...
Oh wild arms. My favorite RPG series of all time. In fact I love it so much that it hugely inspires the novel series I'm writing. With a smattering of Wild Arms Easter eggs and cameos thrown about.
Erick Landon RPG yes I am. :) I wrote fanfiction for years and now am writing original work that I hope to publish. My current WIP draws inspiration from Avatar the last Airbender, Steven universe, Wild Arms, and anime/JRPGs in general. Basically I take all the things I love, throw them in a bowl and see what I get. :)
Wild Arms didn't really succeed commercially because it's players are segmented, like me.. The Lovers of the series actually are a lot, but they just enjoy it personally, not bragging out about it.. Wild Arms story is absolutely the main attraction for me, especially the 2nd.. I can talk about filgaia all day that time, and my friends just bragging about FF everyday.. It's like Wild Arms is a game for those who wanted a depth story in different way of RPG..
Wild Arms 2 is one of the best video games ive ever played in my entire life and i have beaten every JRPG on PS1, PS2, and PS4 cuz i only play JRPG genre games
Thank you. Your video moved me. Wild Arms will always remain my favourite RPG series. How much I LOVED Michiko Naruke composition. The Barren Field theme from the 2nd Wild Arms is my ringtone since I bought a cell phone in 2004 and it was a midi version for those who remember this format 😊. I see that you used this theme in your video. You're a man of good taste. THANK YOU Mister, very much. There's so much more to say...
i loved wild arms 4 and 5. their battle system and aesthetic is something very unique and enjoyable. theres still so much room in the market for games like those, especially with the wild west theme. im surprised no other notable jrpg has taken that theme ever since.
Matty K the battle system wasn't bad. It just didn't add too much either. But you could tell they wanted movement in the fighting neither the even more unnecessary movement of 3 that was uncontrollable
D. San it didn't have to bring too much. Whatever it brought made it unique enough. Every battle was like a mini tactical battle, and I loved the involvement of manual movement, because it made the games that much more interactive. Plus, it made sense. Just standing in front of the enemy waiting for your turn to act made final fantasy's characters up till FFX look stupid. Not to mention, it was hella boring. Movement adds such a large amount of possibilities, and wild arms 4/5 nailed that by bringing tactics into the regular battles.
I played 4 and quit near the end b/c I decided grinding levels over and over to spend at the black market wasn't worth it. I don't think I fought the final boss, but I got to the final dungeon, saw what kind of grinding I'd have to do to 100% the game, and moved on to the other game I had gotten around the same time. My biggest problem with 4 though was that tools got absolutely wrecked in that game. They used to be a huge part of what made the series fun in terms of exploration and map interaction. I could live with the hex battles, but no tools ruined it for me. I loved the tools in 2 and 3. 4 just...got rid of that, for no reason. And after seeing 4, I never played 5.
Nyonics I don't know how tools were used in 1-3 but four definitely had objects you needed to carry around, which were called tools. And in 5 those were replaced by different kinds of special bullets in your ARM which you carried around on the field all the time.
Yeah, 4 had "tools." They were garbage compared to the earlier games. IIRC in WA4 you could potentially find one of three objects in any given dungeon that you'd have to use within that same room to solve a bland puzzle. In the earlier games, each character gets 3 unique tools that can be used an infinite number of times to interact with the environment at any time. A plain example: one character in WA2 gets the kick boots, bombs, and the earthquake. The first lets you kick things--you can kick blocks to solve switch puzzles, kick a computer to make it work (was even in a magazine ad for the game), etc. The bombs are pretty self-explanatory--blow stuff up, including breakable walls and barriers, or used to activate certain kinds of switches. The earthquake destroys all breakable objects in whatever room you use it in. Another character in the same game had the grappling hook, rad blades, and jump shoes--which let you grapple across pits, speed across floor tiles that normally damage you upon contact (e.g. lava), and high jump, respectively. Somebody had a radar tool that would locate chests and other secrets for you, somebody had a bell that would instantly summon an encounter, somebody had a familiar that could hover a certain radius away from them to activate switches or open unreachable chests, etc. And there were cool tools like this in the first 3 WA games that were used WELL to enrich map interaction and puzzle-solving. Compared to them, WA4's "tools" were a cruel joke. It's okay though--you didn't know what you were missing out on so nobody can blame you for not knowing what you didn't know.
If I remember correctly,, some of the Wild ARMS fans believe Senki Zesshou Symphogear is a spiritual successor in some form. Them whistles in Hibiki's song from later seasons.
It became the anime Senki Zesshou Symphogear (I'm quarter kidding. Symphogear is written by Akefumi Kaneko, the writer and creator of WA, and has callbacks and uses the same mythological references too)
Far as I'm aware, Lunar ended with Eternal Blue; there's not really any way to expand the story, due to how it ended. Yeah, there was that DS game, but that was a prequel for Silver Star Story, iirc
Really loved the Original Wild Arms, I felt like I was playing an old school shonen anime with mysterious demonic bosses and heroes with guns, Robots and magic. I liked how the 3 heroes all feel like main characters instead of one spiky haired protagonist and his posse amd it really felt like the stakes were high from the beginning instead of the MC doing something small and then finding out a conspiracy later on whicj is what most RPGs did at the time. Wild Arms 2 was ok too but I guess it focused more on having a power ranger theme, I didnt like it as much as the first one.
Thanks for making this video as a die-hard Wild Arms fan, we need more awareness to bring back the series in Full. I know we're just getting a mobile game but heck I'll take a mobile game just to get something going and maybe if it gets some great support from its fan base it may lead to more console releases
Wild arms 2 is my favorite in my opinion, the history and the combat system was cool, first time playing a rpg where mana doesn't matter and i could use a lot of spells on the enemys. :)
Matty K the story and gameplay was pretty good. While the story might follow the hero route all the way through, there was nothing typical about it. I enjoyed every minute of it and the crazy puzzles it had.
Wild Arms 2 was the first JRPG I played. I honestly never even saw the reviews; my roommates in college has a PS1, and it looked interesting, so I picked it up. Two decades later, I still remember it.
I'd not say XF had balancing issues, quite the contrary the balancing was great and required lots of outside of the box thinking, while not relying on the player having metaknowlwde about what classes would be most relevant for the upcomming encounter since the way the class system worked enabled you to practically become max level version of whatever primary class you pick. The difficulty was treated more like a puzzle game and the only stats you increased with leveling were HP and MP everything else was equipment and your class, sort of like FF V or bravely default.
Nikodem R Right! XF was a very fun game because it made you use your brain to overcome seemingly impossible battles, and when you pieced together the puzzle it felt incredibly rewarding.
I remember playing the first wild arms as a kid, first rpg ever and I fell in love. So glad you made a video on this. Wild Arms series is totally slept on by a lot of gamers.
They didn't have the rights to use the name and the Mitochondria story from the Original book , The author of the book apparently didn't like the direction the 2nd game took , so Square-enix wanted to give Aya another game but had to change the name and 3rd Birthday was born.
I *loved* Wild Arms 1 and 2. Heck, Wild Arms 2 is one of my favorite RPGs of all time. I tried playing 3 but it bored me to tears... And I've never even tried the rest of the series. I have fond memories of it, but that's where it's going to stay - in memories.
I have 3, 4 and XF. I could never get into 3, I liked 4 and beat it. I liked XF, but about an hour into the game, there was this ridiculous mission where you have to run around the town that I couldn't beat.
I've been playing this since i was 8. Made it a mission to play all, and 100% all of them, meaning as many items as possible, max stats max level, all side quests, and for 5 re-continued till first battle maxed level
The fate of Wild Arms and its drifters is but a rumor in the desert winds... And a shame, because it had some great ideas and took a completely different approach to classical RPG themes (the Wild West for Filgaia's sake!). Sure, it has magic, super lost technology, and primordial forces summoned at the cost of the lives of people, but damn! The Filgaia multiverse (hinted in Wild Arms 2 and clearly stated in XF) is a cool thing indeed. Love its lore.
Thanks for this reminder of this wonderful series. While I personally would prefer Wild Arms 6 over going straight to a mobile game after so long, I'll definitely be going back to the older games and would like to eventually help try to get the word out on these games more. These really are great games, and I'd love to see the series again on PS4 with a proper Wild Arms 6, if Sony ever sees fit to finally get back in touch with Media Vision again.
Sad to know that wild arms 2 was never released in Europe. It has one of the nicest BG music in RPG PS1 era. Even though developers weren't able to animate some of the major events in the game. A cheap FMV would do it at the time but they chose to do it with stills.
Erick: "Wild Arms 2 was released in North America in 2000 and sadly was never released in Europe" Me, a European that played Wild Arms 2 all the time as a kid: "Wait what?"
Wild Arms 2 is my second favorite videogame ever made (next to FF7 ofcoarse) gane magazines destroyed it for SUCH PETTY REASONS! I would rather have a badly translated game than have no game at all geez
I love wild arms 4 and what the hell happend i wanna see a new one where ill see raquel, jude, arnaud, julie im not sure if raquel is still alive but i was a fan of her character °^°
@@ErickLandonRPG I played the Sequel first and it was a good game on it's own, but I had no idea wtf it had to do with Legend of Legaia after playing the first game.
I never really drew myself to Wild Arms like many did. I recently prior to playing Wild Arms 1 had played FF7 and when I played WA I was very unhappy with the in-battle character models and did not like the animation style of the battles in the first game. I very quickly, and unfairly, turned the game off before I ever gave it a chance. Wild Arms 2 looks and sounds like a winner and I have never played it either nor had I tried any of the associative titles in this series. Looking back, I clearly missed out and regret it. I am making it a requirement to go back to this series and get right what I did not years ago. Great video, very informative, but sad we are now chewing a mobile game as the most recent title in the series :-(
It would be outstanding if they ever released a compilation of Wild Arms, Wild Arms 2, Wild Arms 3, Wild Arms:Alter Code F, Wild Arms 4 and Wild Arms 5 at least. This could even be done a few months to a year or so before an official console sequel comes out.
I actually very much enjoyed the first 3 games of Wild Arms, I need to buy another copy of the first one as I used to own it, lent it to a friend, and he pretty much destroyed the disk. I was so angry with him, I own the second one which I'm not letting anyone borrow it, as I bought it back in 1999 when it first came out here and loved it, and I still have that copy and it still works 21 years later. Unlike some of my friends I treat my video games and video consoles with proper respect. The third one I round up renting it one day thinking it wasn't going to be as good as the first two but decided to give it a go, and I was very much enjoying it. The fourth one I played a demo of it and hated it, I did not like the battle setup... and I had no idea that they had done a 5th one until like 6 years ago. Maybe one day I'll track down a copy and try it, not guaranteeing that I will but... maybe.
Ahhh... Wild Arms, this is the first time where I tought the opening was way better than the entire game. Don't get me wrong, the game was good, albeit a little on the rough side. But that song and cutscene, ooooh... It still gives me goosebumps nearly 20 years after!
What the hell happened to GOLDEN SUN? I know it is not the perfect solution, but maybe to get Wild Arms for mobile ... wouldn´t be that bad. It looks like a crossover, yes, but perhaps with some success they make a port of the first one, even the second. Square Enix has made that kind of move with Valkyrie Profile Lenneth for Android, and though I rather have it for my PS4, for example, playing it on my phone (it´s a good port, at least ot works for me) is just a blast. Best solution? Not really, but how the market stands nowadays, the most probable one. Also, cool video as always, Eric.
Actually I agree with that, I am not a fan either for mobile games. Though, what I was really meaning (sorry for mi bad english as it´s not my native language), is that there are a few of mobile experiences worth a shot, but most of them are in fact ports from console games (as the example of VP L I mentioned) or even indies mainly from PC. In the end? Besides the few exceptions, the vast majority of mobile games are just... eww
Erick Landon RPG golden sun and golden sun lost age were amazing, but dark Dawn was a very weak follow-up, although one that I played all the way through
I wanna See wild arms rise again!! Specially from The fourth series! Yulie, jude and im still left hanged about the fact that kresnik might still be alive
it will probably be a mobile game with stamina system. the characters of your team will be the varius characters of all the previous games obtainable from a rng gacha loot box. this is what "million memories" suggest me.
I've always heard about how good Wild Arms was growing up, but I stayed away unfortunately and played other JRPG, maybe I should give it try. Cool video tho.
ArKdia I played 3 and 5. 4 i skipped cause X seed makes really bad games. I feel it was like suikoden. After the second game they tried to spice it up and it was just lackluster all around. Even though I used a game shark on the 3rd one I still hated it.
ArKdia if you have a ps4 you can digitaly get wildarms 3. Ifyour intrusted? And i thing you can get ps1 digital copy of wildarms and wildarms 2 on ps3 id have to check though.
Hi Erick I'm from Brazil , thank you to bring the best jrpg series for me , Wild Arms is so unique ! Music, Tools System , Puzzles , Characters... I love this game so much .. specially the first one ! i'm so sad when i knew the next game will be for phone.... it seems like a generic game which you can play with all chartacters in wild arms like Final Fantasy mobile game.
Wild arms 1: A nostalgic master piece Wild arms 2: Sorry didn't play you. Wild arms 3: Play it a little, pretty good. ( I have a copy) Wild Arms Alter Code F: Such a cool title, i never got a copy, sadly. Play it a little, remake of an awesome game. Wild arms 4: Predecessor of my favorite Wild arms gameplay, thank you for your gameplay, didn't play you tho xD Wild arms 5 : Amazing game, freaking love it, good gameplay, fun team ups attacks and fantastic music. ( I have a copy). Wild Arms XF: Play a little, it was fun. RIP that this was the end of the franchise. I want a remaster collection of all of them. Such an amazing franchise, that was forgotten to time.
I love Wild Arms 2 and Wild Arm 3 i get lost. No one ever talks about the series but it has over five games so must been popular at a time I figured the series just died off for being unplayable without a walkthrough
Minako Hiashi I love that series, but it was the primary reason I started going to GameFAQs. Aah, the fun times before then when the only way to get through some puzzles was to ask a friend or hit switches and use tools at random between bouts of hitting my head on the wall.
BonaparteBardithion I love Wild Arms 2. Like it one of my favorite jrpgs of all time. It's kind of a first jrpg ever played but when I was younger I only had disc 1 I only just found a used copy about 4 years ago I played through it and loved it. I think extremely highly of Wild Arms 2 but in reality it's probably like a B+ game I also got Wild Arms 3 somewhere around 4 years ago and it might be good but I have retry this game around three times and I always get lost somewhere extremely early. With Wild Arms 3 im lost to the point where I don't even know where I'm trying to go so a walkthrough wouldn't really help me. I like 2 high enough that I really want to like 3 I have kept playing the game for years trying to make progress and I actually did make some progress but then immediately got lost again. I think the problem is that the world is to big and locations do not exist until you talk to the right person
Minako Hiashi That's the problem I had with 3 as well. I put it down for a bit and when I came back I couldn't remember which area I was supposed to search in. I notice a lot of games in the last decade or so will have a diary of some sort to remind players where they're supposed to go next.
Shaman Xeed I knew there were five games but I didn't know the series was at all popular considering that if anyone ever talks about the games it's only the first one. That's only cuz it might be the first jrpg on the PlayStation 1 or close to being first
Wild Arms is one of the greatest RPG series and I am so sad that it was not as well received and well known as other RPGs because now, looking back. I love it. I wish it was still around because it has some things now are missing. Good design, complex characters, complex stories that don't rely on constantly screwing with your mind. Games 1-3 are all good, great games. Perhaps 1 and 2 are a little technologically behind since they are on such old systems, but they have solid great design. Wild Arms 3 and Code F don't show their age at all. I think they still look great even now. Beyond that, they are very well designed. There's flexibility in your team and everyone learns their special skills in different ways or just has their own innate skills, it's great 4's Hex system was strange and perhaps a poor choice since it was such a drastic change, but it wasn't bad, not really. I.... I honestly don't like 5 much because I feel like it took a really drastic change from the Western setting and the characters seemed a bit tropeier than I remember. Idiot hero, mysterious waif, stone-cold badass, cute robot girl all the typical anime traits are there. Plus it's a bit more techno than the old games since a lot of emphasis is placed on the golems and technology as a whole, with some cities even looking like they are from a Sci-Fi setting, which most Wild Arms games save for the final dungeon
I try, and fail to get more than 20 minutes into Wild Arms 3 it seems like such a bummer of a sequel, but after seeing your opinion I'm going to try one more time to get a little further & see if anything developes ✌️
XSEED could've saved this franchise as they're known for releasing games from franchises that aren't so hot here in the States but they at least have an audience.
Yeah, I agree. This mobile phone game will maybe work as a feedback device. It will be something like "Final Fantasy Mobius". My question is: Should we support it? Will it tell the makers that there is a demand for a new game? will it tell them to create an new mobile series of wild arms? What is the best procedure here? Maybe it is indeed a desperate move to get feedback. Maybe they have created a whole story board for a new installment, just waiting for the right moment.
Personally, my all time favs were Wild Arms 2 and Alter Code: F. I checked to see if there were any new games for the series a few years ago and learned the sad news too. I'm amazed that they didn't do well. Though it contained the same formula as most JRPGs, it told the story in its own unique and interesting way in a theme very few games touch on. I'm not a huge fan of mobile games, but I'll look out for this one.
I own a copy of Wild Arms 3 for the PS2, and my take one the whole thing is that critics just hat the franchise because it's not as "ambitious" as it's competitors. The stories are self contained, the characters and boss fighters are complex, and Filgaia itself is complex. It didn't really feel the need to raise the stakes like Final Fantasy and Pokemon, a move that would bite both franchises in the ass later on.
Lack of commercial success? I can see that. I really enjoy the soundtracks though. I listen to them to this day! I also remember spending a lot of time solving the millennium puzzles... great way to acquire items/ skills outside of grinding.
I feel sad now cause I never knew about the Wild Arms 1 remake in North America. I really liked Wild Arms 1. It was a great RPG and I liked the old school 2D look of the game outside the battles. My only complaint is they didn't make the whole game look 2D. You could do some amazing 2D sprite work on the PS1. If I had known about the PS2 remake I would have bought it in a flat second. I can still play Wild Arms 1 on my PS Vita though.
Wild arms 1 and 2 was a love of my life. What warrants success exactly. Did no wild arms ever make profit at all O.O. I mean if you cover cost and make profits its successful right.
I LOVE the Wild Arms Twilight Venom anime. The opening theme was EPIC! Would love to see a game based on the anime. I own an incomplete DVD box set. My mom got it for me at a thrift shop. I'm missing volume 3.
Just come here from PlayStation RUclips channel...Sony just released Wild Arms trailers on PlayStation Japan channel! Check it out! But the thing is , it’s only on PS Japan channel. Not on PlayStation English Channel..looks like it’s exclusive to japan.
I still love this series. I have the downloads of the first and second Wild Arms games, and the discs of 3,4,5 and XF. Honestly though, I still am kinda confused as to how XF is supposed to be a remake of the first. It does say that on the back of the case. It makes no sense. They are not even close to the same.
Shane Ferguson XF isn't a remake of the first. Its an entirely separate game in its own right. I have no idea where you got your game case, but someone totally messed up that description. You can check wikipedia for conformation.
I think one of the reasons XF failed is because it had to compete against Janne D'arc, which had similar gameplay, and based off an iconic historical figure.
Ahh Wild Arms the game I got insulted for recommending it when it first came out! Like you said Wild Arms original came out about a little bit before Final Fantasy VII, and I argued that it was just as good if not better than FF7. Oh the backlash I received to the point where I actually got in real fights over it just goes to show Square fans have always been assholes lol. I think the main problem with most of these older JRPGs is just that they are old and back in those days there were very few fans of RPGs period. I can almost guarantee that if all these games were just now being released with graphics say on par with Tales of Vesperia the modern cell shade look. They should all be best sellers, I say "should" because in reality people enjoy garbage fires like the latest FF games so they would probably hate/ignore anything that isn't a Square Enix game like usual lol.
Martino Magic When people compare every JRPG under the sun to Final Fantasy VII all you are doing is validating that it's the gold standard for the genre. Yeah Square Enix fans have always been asses. You can see my rant on Proto Mario's video about the Secret of Mana remake about how Square Enix does listen to the fans it's just every time they do it they want the opposite. An example would be people complaining about the chibi models used for Final Fantasy VII then complaining about the models in Final Fantasy VIII were too tall and lanky and guess what people complained about with Final Fantasy IX? I had tons of people call me a liar about Square Enix fans contradicting themselves even though plenty of old archived internet fourms from the 90s regarding JRPGS still exist. I have had people call me a liar when bringing up that Final Fantasy VIII was hated when it was first released. Zelda fans may take 10 years to appreciate a once hated game but at least they don't take 15+ years like with Square Enix games.
This is the reason why I rarely speak ill about Square Enix, but since I've already called FF7 overrated, trashed FF13 and X-2 so many times and pretentiously used the franchise as an example of how it took a very different direction in a very negative way, might as well one day make a What the Hell Happened to Final Fantasy.
Michael Lewis I only compared it to FF VII in this case because it came out at the same time within a couple weeks if I remember correctly. I agree with you on a ton of what you are saying. The only thing I don't agree with is listening to your fans as a game maker within reason. I think someone with a vision should design their game how they want it because that is the art they want to create. The only thing I could see listening to fans for is quality of life type things. But how you want the game to look, sound, feel, and play out should be the work of the people who love it. I think the biggest problems with the newer FF games and Square in general is the fact they try to make games for people instead of the games they want to make. They lost a lot of the people who actually love making the games and now they just make them for money instead of someone has a vision they want to show people. Detective X Shaman Even though I kind of think the story in Wild Arms is way more complete compared to FFVII. There is a reason they have made a bunch of side stories and extra games filling in all the holes FFVII left. But most people wouldn't even give Wild Arms a chance at the time because of the low budget graphics compared to FFVII. I really think that is the only reason people give such high praise to Square is the Triple A budget.
Man I loved Final Fantasy 7 and played it when it first came out. But I loved Wild Arms as well and played it when it first came out. And never once did I think to compare the two games. I just enjoyed both for what they were and in fact them coming out around the same time and me finishing both games is what solidified my love of JRPGs. Around the time these came out I was just joining the military and away at my first base. These games helped me deal with the overwhelming homesickness I experienced.
Even though I talked some crap about it I still loved FF7 also and pretty much everything Square Soft came out with before they became Square Enix. I just got into bad mood cause recently everything I see is like Octopath Traveler is the best game ever made!!!!! It might be a good game, but I know damn well its not the best game ever and doesn't deserve the hype its getting. I just feel so many good companies have died in the shadow of a company that wasn't all that much better is why I rant lol. The PS1 age of JRPGs was the best time in my life, there was very few if any on PS1 that I played and didn't love them.
The curse of the 5. Suikoden, Breath of Fire, Wild Arms. If your series can get past part 5, it can go anywhere. But that 5 can kill series...
The Chrono Pat 5 is the third best game. It was really good. Visually and storywise.
Do Alter Code F and Crossfire not count?
i hope they remake suikoden 3 with current gen cell shading graphics, Breath of fire 4 would be nice as well.
Suikoden IV and Tactics were the low points of the series imo - V was refreshing
Wild Arms, my first game I played on PSX.
I miss Rudy, Filgaia, Lombardia & everything :'(
holy shit, same here. My first actual video game, actually.
Same here :) I love that first Wild Arms. It was my introduction to RPG.
When everyone was playing FFVII, the first game I got for my PS1 was Wild Arms, have never regretted my decision.
I miss the music
kind of a weird game to be your first ps1 game.
I finally got to experience this series thanks to the PlayStation Classic.
So far it’s a great game!
Another one of my beloved favorite rpg series the stories battles and soundtracks of all wild arms games are epic as hell screw the market
Oh wild arms. My favorite RPG series of all time. In fact I love it so much that it hugely inspires the novel series I'm writing. With a smattering of Wild Arms Easter eggs and cameos thrown about.
So you're a writer too! HIGH FIVE :D
I'd love to read it when it comes out!
Working on it now. Hoping to have book 1 done and ready to find a publisher by the end of this year into early next year.
I love this.
Just as I'm finishing the final boss of the original Wild Arms. Amazing game. Easily on my top 10 ps1 rpgs.
Thank you.
What the hell happen to breath of fire?
jones brave It ended at 4 and you can not convince me that a 5th and 6th game exists.
...there's a 6th game?
(And don't worry, BoF is on the list ;) )
Erick Landon RPG There was,Breath of Fire 6 was mobile only. They shut the service down so we can say it no longer exists.
Dragon quarter happened. God that game sucked
HAH!!! Breath of Fire VI happened. THat's the game that killed the series to me.
Wild Arms didn't really succeed commercially because it's players are segmented, like me..
The Lovers of the series actually are a lot, but they just enjoy it personally, not bragging out about it..

Damn now I want to play Wild Arms again. I'm sad for the new generations that will never experience these games.
i loved wild arms 4 and 5. their battle system and aesthetic is something very unique and enjoyable. theres still so much room in the market for games like those, especially with the wild west theme. im surprised no other notable jrpg has taken that theme ever since.
It's okay though--you didn't know what you were missing out on so nobody can blame you for not knowing what you didn't know.
what the hell happened to shadow hearts
I would kill for a new Shadow Hearts
Myself the same. After I finished Covenant... Man, a sequel with Kurando; or a prequel with Yuri´s father... Dreaming is free, at least
Agrenost some gambling company owns it.
Why they don’t give us at least Shadow Hearts HD collection T.T
My most favourite RPG franchise, never to have another entry...
Shadow Hearts will be done as well, don't worry, guys.
If I remember correctly,, some of the Wild ARMS fans believe Senki Zesshou Symphogear is a spiritual successor in some form. Them whistles in Hibiki's song from later seasons.
Wild Arms is dead, it's sitting in a dive bar next to Monster Rancher.
What the hell happen to legend of dragoon n legend of legaia ?
Gamers Gonline omg...I thought I was the only 1 who knew about those games...
Legend of Legaia duddddeee
legend of legaia had a trash sequel
yoooooooo legend of legaia
i loved that game; had great battle gameplay
@@grimsvaultstreaming3956 y bro but the gameplay is not bad
It became the anime Senki Zesshou Symphogear
(I'm quarter kidding. Symphogear is written by Akefumi Kaneko, the writer and creator of WA, and has callbacks and uses the same mythological references too)
Found your channel about a week ago. Love your content. Been watching a lot of your Videos .You just got a subscriber 👍
Thank you!!!
What the hell happened to Lunar?
Don't worry, I'll make that one too!
Far as I'm aware, Lunar ended with Eternal Blue; there's not really any way to expand the story, due to how it ended. Yeah, there was that DS game, but that was a prequel for Silver Star Story, iirc
61089loki Eh, I still think it's possible. Maybe difficult, but a little challenge might do Game Arts some good, in my opinion.
They did HD remake of Grandia and Grandia 2
Still one of my favorite opening song. Those whistles
beautiful whistles.
You're welcome, thanks for commenting!
I Need the Remake the Wild Arms 2
:"v
Sebastian Martinez hell yeah!!! I would so love that. If I had the money I would do it myself!
Sebastian Martinez 2 is probably the least talked about game in the series. I never played it. so I wonder why
By Level 5 :)
Hey Erick Landon RPG, did you know Wild Arms got released on the Playstation Classic Mini console as part of the 20 games lineup?
Yeah, it's a very cool series.
What the HELL Happened to Parasite Eve?
It's on the list ;)
The third birthday nailed that coffin down lol
Hell yeah, that game deserves a video on its own in this channel xD
Third Birthday happened. The end.
They didn't have the rights to use the name and the Mitochondria story from the Original book , The author of the book apparently didn't like the direction the 2nd game took , so Square-enix wanted to give Aya another game but had to change the name and 3rd Birthday was born.
Really well done video! I was not expecting that. I love Wild Arms and old RPG's. Keep the good content coming friend. :)
Thank you.
New Wild Arms plz! Imo one of the best RPGs and games out there. Wild Arms 1 is awesome and 3 is also really good!
Dude, I love your videos! It's great to have a brother out there loving the hell out of JRPG's like yourself. Saludos desde Chile!
Gracias!!!
Sony doesnt want to bother with this franchise anymore. They have dropped most of their old franchises.
Yup sadly
Thanks again for the video Erick, great job, and a great ending song there :)
Thank you. I'm glad you liked it.
I have 3, 4 and XF. I could never get into 3, I liked 4 and beat it. I liked XF, but about an hour into the game, there was this ridiculous mission where you have to run around the town that I couldn't beat.
almightycinder XF Requires you to use your brain, kek.
WildArms 2 was one of my favorite games when I was younger, and was the first game I ever actually finished.
I also didn't know anything past 3 came out, kinda excited to go back and have a look at them now.
What the hell happened to...Phantasy Star, Shadow Hearts or Legend of Legaia.
All those are on the list, don't worry ;)
yeah, phantasy star....
Legaia only had two games so that's barely a franchise and Shadow Hearts had 4 games including Koudelka which is the prequel to the series.
Spacefrisian legaia killed itself with a shitty sequel that changed everything about the game.
Skys of arcadia? No love...
Wild Arms, Suikoden, Growlancer, Langrisser. How we miss you.
Sad to know that wild arms 2 was never released in Europe. It has one of the nicest BG music in RPG PS1 era. Even though developers weren't able to animate some of the major events in the game. A cheap FMV would do it at the time but they chose to do it with stills.
Erick: "Wild Arms 2 was released in North America in 2000 and sadly was never released in Europe"
Me, a European that played Wild Arms 2 all the time as a kid: "Wait what?"
Wild Arms 2 is my second favorite videogame ever made (next to FF7 ofcoarse) gane magazines destroyed it for SUCH PETTY REASONS! I would rather have a badly translated game than have no game at all geez
I love wild arms 4 and what the hell happend i wanna see a new one where ill see raquel, jude, arnaud, julie im not sure if raquel is still alive but i was a fan of her character °^°
gumiya,s theory She died in the ending story credits. Arny states to it in his own way. Has a daughter.
Why did I found her in wildarms 5 °^°
kaito,s theory several past characters appeared in wild arms 5 as cameo appearances. They weren't canon.
Matty K awwwwwww i thought she,s still alive
kaito,s theory nope she dead lol
What happened to legend of legaia?
An atrocious sequel, haha. But okay, I'll consider making a video about it.
Agreed that sequel just sullied my favorite rpg
Prokion bankrupt
Wait, the same people who made Wild ARMs also made Chaos Rings? That's crazy to me. I was obsessed with Chaos Rings as a teenager
Noice,more games to play... xD
Serious, seems pretty good that one from Psp.. maybe i try it.
Thanks Erick !Again!
Herr Rindlisbacher mobile games are notoriously bad to begin with.
In the end? Besides the few exceptions, the vast majority of mobile games are just... eww
Golden Sun was among the candidates for today, but Wild ARMs just piqued my interest above all. But don't worry, GS WILL be done very soon...
Erick Landon RPG golden sun and golden sun lost age were amazing, but dark Dawn was a very weak follow-up, although one that I played all the way through
Dark dawn didn't made it to be a top game. So yea
If we ever do get another Wild Arms I hope it's design after Wild Arms 3. That cel look holds up so well even now.
I wanna See wild arms rise again!! Specially from The fourth series! Yulie, jude and im still left hanged about the fact that kresnik might still be alive
one of the best series. what a memory :(
it will probably be a mobile game with stamina system. the characters of your team will be the varius characters of all the previous games obtainable from a rng gacha loot box. this is what "million memories" suggest me.
2:37
when i heard this, i truly cursed those websites and magazines
people whose only interested in skimpy-outfitted heroine shouldn't review anything
I loved the wild arms one. Love the music in the beginning
I've always heard about how good Wild Arms was growing up, but I stayed away unfortunately and played other JRPG, maybe I should give it try. Cool video tho.
ArKdia You gonna love it trust me especially the story and soundtrack
Thanks.
Cool, will check it out
what the hell happened to emuparadise ?
Hi Erick
I'm from Brazil , thank you to bring the best jrpg series for me , Wild Arms is so unique ! Music, Tools System , Puzzles , Characters...
I love this game so much .. specially the first one ! i'm so sad when i knew the next game will be for phone.... it seems like a generic game which you can play with all chartacters in wild arms like Final Fantasy mobile game.
I loved Wild Arms specially the first 3 because its not only about battle, you have to use your brain too.
Wild arms 1: A nostalgic master piece
Wild arms 2: Sorry didn't play you.
Wild arms 3: Play it a little, pretty good. ( I have a copy)
Wild Arms Alter Code F: Such a cool title, i never got a copy, sadly. Play it a little, remake of an awesome game.
Wild arms 4: Predecessor of my favorite Wild arms gameplay, thank you for your gameplay, didn't play you tho xD
Wild arms 5 : Amazing game, freaking love it, good gameplay, fun team ups attacks and fantastic music.
Minako Hiashi
I love that series, but it was the primary reason I started going to GameFAQs. Aah, the fun times before then when the only way to get through some puzzles was to ask a friend or hit switches and use tools at random between bouts of hitting my head on the wall.
BonaparteBardithion
I love Wild Arms 2. Like it one of my favorite jrpgs of all time. It's kind of a first jrpg ever played but when I was younger I only had disc 1 I only just found a used copy about 4 years ago I played through it and loved it. I think extremely highly of Wild Arms 2 but in reality it's probably like a B+ game
I also got Wild Arms 3 somewhere around 4 years ago and it might be good but I have retry this game around three times and I always get lost somewhere extremely early.
Minako Hiashi
That's the problem I had with 3 as well. I put it down for a bit and when I came back I couldn't remember which area I was supposed to search in. I notice a lot of games in the last decade or so will have a diary of some sort to remind players where they're supposed to go next.
Shaman Xeed
I knew there were five games but I didn't know the series was at all popular considering that if anyone ever talks about the games it's only the first one. That's only cuz it might be the first jrpg on the PlayStation 1 or close to being first
I managed to grab an original copy of Alter Code F, had to import it even because I couldn't find it anywhere
Thank you for what you said about WA2 i appreciate your appreciation for Wild Arms 2
While shadow hearts 2 is my favorite game of all time, wild arms 3 still has one of my favorite stories. It sit at 3rd place of my favorite games.
Lightdragoon88 shadow hearts 2... i see you are a man of culture then. Same here I love sh1 and 2 but sh3 not so much as 1 and 2.
I only played wild arms 2 and I really loved and enjoyed that game so much
You should play the first one.
There's flexibility in your team and everyone learns their special skills in different ways or just has their own innate skills, it's great
4's Hex system was strange and perhaps a poor choice since it was such a drastic change, but it wasn't bad, not really.
Sony Computer Entertainment JP was shut down. That's why it vanished
Almost gave dislike for the "not that joke again"
Good video tho
You mean you liked my previous jokes and were upset because I didn't make it again? :O
Erick Landon RPG :O
I always liked wild arms. I wish it will come back :(.
I just hope they don't end up like the Shining series who made its return...only by overly-sexualizing its characters.
Erick Landon RPG phantasy star, shining force, Landstalker, all those pearls gone with the wind...
I loved the first Wild Arms. I never played the others. I need to get them
Same as me, I loved the first one but have never had time to play the others.
That intro still gets whistled in this house to this very day .
TOTALLY agree with Wild Arms 2, it was very much unfairly treated by the press. It was one of my favourite PSX RPGs.
Lack of commercial success? I can see that. I really enjoy the soundtracks though. I listen to them to this day! I also remember spending a lot of time solving the millennium puzzles... great way to acquire items/ skills outside of grinding.
I remember trying to buy Wild Arms 4 and 5 in Gamestop...
Those dang prices never drop.
Also, we got news on the phone game now!
Yeah, I know, and, well... I have no comment =/
I played 3,4 and 5. And I love them. A friend of a friend borrowed my copy of Wild Arms 5. I never saw it again 😭
I LOVE the Wild Arms Twilight Venom anime. The opening theme was EPIC! Would love to see a game based on the anime.
I own an incomplete DVD box set.
My mom got it for me at a thrift shop. I'm missing volume 3.
Nice. I've never watched it, but I'm looking forward to doing it one day.
Love Wild Arms and love how they try to inovate in the mechanics through the years
It’s a shame people didn’t like the hex based battles. I loved the hell out of it.
Me too.
I enjoyed Wild Arms 4 and 5 and bought XF back in the day.
so wild arms got the breath of fire treatment.
I just get the new soundtracks now. I don't have the time properly play them anyway.
Legend of Legaia dang this game was so epic. Wish to play it again on the ps4 etc.
Just searched for the mobile game on the play store and it wasn't there 🤷🏼♂️
So what should we do?
don't read critics
i played wild arms 4 in 2010 and rly want to play it again :'(
What the hell happened to saga frontier, front mission, grandia, legend of legaia, alundra, and brave fencer musashi
Weird perspective, considering both games were initially overlooked and kind of unknown.
@@ErickLandonRPG True, but it still didn't exactly help having any similar competition.
