  • See Silkworm Caterpillars grow from larvae to spinning a Cocoon, and then emerging as a Moth. Also, see what is inside a Cocoon when it is cut open. There is a moulted skin and a Pupa exoskeleton. In the beginning of the video, see the feeding of small silkworms with mulberry leaves. The silkworms start moulting and growing bigger. Later, it spins a cocoon and then becomes a pupa inside. Later the Moth emerges from the cocoon and starts laying eggs (female moth). Because the moth is not fertilised, the eggs will not hatch. Silkworms have the scientific name of Bombyx mori, and is from the moth family of Bombycidae.
