- Former White House press secretary Sean Spicer says the upcoming US presidential debate will end up being Donald Trump “versus the moderators and Joe Biden”.
“The reality is, is that’s what I think we can get used to expecting on the debate stage when Jake Tapper doesn’t like what Donald Trump is saying - he’s just going to mute his mic,” he told Sky News Australia host Caleb Bond.
“I think this is what we can expect more of.”

Debate tradition usually respects speakers by not interrupting each other, which Trump clearly cannot do.
The Mike decision enforces some of that respect while debating, so yes, it is still a debate if measures are in place to hear responses to questions clearly.
