Great video ! A different type of bullet in that 150gr can tighten the groups up a lot.

I have some other rounds with different bullet weights to test out, so we'll see what it likes

I've never been a fan of the 308 for hunting, Great combat round,I had a rifle just like yours year's ago in 308,I pulled the barrel off and had Hart barrel company build me a 35 Remington barrel 20" they used the micro groove style,It's a beautiful gun,If you are interested in a trade I have a Ruger #1 chambered in 270 or a Ruger 77/44 bolt action 44 mag with a vortex scope I just like the looks of the model 77 Ruger's I'd pull the barrel off and build a 444 marlin out of it

Try the winchester deer season xp to see what happens.

Love the .308 and I can you exactly what the Ruger MK ll is it has to be fore end bedded and channel relieved so a dollar bill slips down it, last trigger job Timney... those 3 things change the MK ll

I definitely want to test it some more to see what it can do. I do love me a Timney trigger though. I've got another rifle that hasn't been shown on the channel yet that has one and it shoots great

@matttyreeoutdoors bedding the forend with pressure changes the harmonics and wakes that fun up. After it's done you shoot and if not shooting like you want you sand every so little the forend bedding to remove material until it starts grouping like you want. I lucked and got mine dead on first time. What it does is changes the harmonics of the barrel and your striving foe a 6 or 12 O'clock bullet release.
Cheap and quick route might not be cheap anymore is getting a SIMS barrel slip on resonator and adjust it that way.

I always lap all my Ruger stainless barrels. Also my Ruger 308's shot much better with the heavier 168 hand load and factory Federal GMM. Totally normal group not surprised.

I have some 165 grain loads I plan on testing with it as well, so we'll see if it might like the heavier stuff

I have the same rifle in 270. Very ammo picky. Had groups as large 4 in. at 100 yrds. Then 2 in. at 200.

I'm definitely gonna test it with some other ammo to hopefully find out what it likes

It would be considered a 22" barrel, you got about an inch or so of threading. I use a 308 most of the time for deer. It's a ruger american predator model and it shoots just about everything accurately! Most rifles defiantly have a prefers bullet weight range, just a matter of figuring it out!

Yeah, I've got a few other rounds in different grain weights to test, so we'll see what it likes

Yeah, it would definitely work for 100 yards. Not anything special, but would do the job well enough
