- Danny "The BBQ Guy" from American River Ace Hardware reviews the just released Traeger Ironwood XL. Just last year we got the Timberline XL and now Traeger has released the all new Ironwood XL and this thing is long! The new Ironwood shares some of the same features as the Timberline including controller, PALS rail system for example but several notable things are missing. While the Traeger induction cooktop is not included, it can be added to this new grill. Check out how.

Just bought one of these 2 days ago and am eagerly awaiting delivery! First pellet grill!
Just bought one from you guys a last week. Absolutely love it!
That's awesome! We certainly appreciate your business!
Great video for smoker not yet released! Wish I didn't already have two Traegers or I'd grab this one!
The release date is a funny thing... I have heard a couple different dates
Great video!
Thank you very much
Finally a most affordable higher end Trager!
Exactly and we are pretty excited about it
Thank you for showing this new grill. Do you mind helping me with two questions? 1) is there a probe cord port on the side for the meet thermometers, or do the cords need to be run under the hatch and get pinched? 2) does the bottom shelf have any way to shed water off to the ground, or will it become full of water when it rains?
The self does have a couple holes so it should drain off water, as far as the meat probes, it doesn't have a dedicated spot but the gasket should keep it from getting damaged
@@AmericanRiverAceHardwareBBQ Thanks!
Thanks for the video ... will the pizza "oven" also work for the XL and is it based on the modifire system? Thanks Mike
Sorry I wanted to ask if the Pizza function will work also for Timberline XL
The menu does have the Pizza option when they finally release it
It doesn’t say on the website that you can add on the induction cooktop? Is that something they just haven’t released on their site? Where can I find this? Thank you!
We've been told for a while it will be available and the pricing estimate keeps changing last I heard there's about 800
Is the drip pan really stainless? The one I saw didn’t look like it.
The new Ironwood drip pan is not stainless.. I thought it was initially
Any idea on the cost of adding the induction burner and Meater probes? Or when they're available?
Meater probes made for that unit come as a 2pk around $280 The induction cooktop will be available as an add-on and right now it's just a guess but somewhere around $800
@@AmericanRiverAceHardwareBBQ $800 for a side burner???? 😂
Where do you see the induction cooktop will be available for purchase separate and supported on the ironwood xl? I can’t find it anywhere on the Traeger website.
When he says "XL" he actually means "Timberline".
This was an Ironwood XL video... Lol if there is a joke I missed it..
When describing the features of this ironwood xl he mentions the features of the timberline version to give comparisons between the two. But when talking about the timberline he calls it the xl not timberline. Comment was ment to point out that when the guy in video says xl what he actually ment to say was timberline when making comparisons.
Such a let down that it doesn’t have stainless steel grates. Think they’ll sell replacements?
It's their plan to have you step up to the Timberline XL haha... I'm sure you can call Traeger and order the grates for the Timberline XL they fit the same
@@AmericanRiverAceHardwareBBQ dude really? Are you sure the new timberline grates are compatible?
I think that is ridiculous that it does not come with those pellet bins when your paying that much for it.
Didn’t the timberline XL just come out?
Last year, yes. This is their 2023 XL release along with the Flatrock Gas Griddle. 3 burners and better griddle than Blackstone, comes with hinged lid and better wind resistance than Blackstone. And looks a lot like the traeger xl lineup with the same accessory frame on the front. Two folding tables as well.
@@caseywilson5812 oh ok, it’s definitely cheaper than the timberline XL.
The new line up
Are they going to release a Pro xl?
Not this year. 2023 is this Ironwood XL and their new Trager Gas 3 u shaped burner Griddle called flatrock. Matches this in color 2 shelves and accessoryrail, comes with a hinged lid.
It's not said yet... But I have no doubt it is going to come soon
Did this dude just wake up from a hangover & decide to introduce a traeger?
Tatonka!
Tatonka Sir!
I can’t believe how much they want for this thing! You can buy American for that price! No stainless grates or drip tray? The heat diffuser is chintzy as hell! 🤦. I’d be embarrassed to show this unit off.
Our customers are very happy with them, we appreciate your opinion
@@AmericanRiverAceHardwareBBQ I’m guessing they haven’t compared it to a well built pellet grill.
I’m not defending the Traeger, but what American options are available for under $2k? I haven’t seen any.
@@Tigmt1913 blazin grill works. Much nicer unit for less money. American made.
