For those Pete and Bas fans who lost touch with members of the Northern Boys, you might be interested in Norman Pain's Sindhu Sesh. Its very dark, but I think most of you will like it a lot.
The best part about it is they are actual gangsters. Pete used to be a shooter and dealer for the Richardson firm. Bas was a bare knuckle fighter and dealer from the ends and they still active AF. These bars are actual life experiences. Bas became a musical instructor and Pete's grandson raps, which got them into the rap game. One day pete was with his grandkids and they were listening to some drill in the car and he was like we could do this better than these guys and the journey began. Think I read some comments that Bas had done boxing in his day. Bas has been in music his whole life - he plays and taught piano, also played saxophone. Think jazz was his main thing. Again in the interview with Fumez, sounds that he played with a couple of famous groups in the UK in the 60s, and he has worked cruise ships. He ruefully said that he did not expect to wait until he was 74 to make it like this!! Still, he will have had an interesting life in music. Being in the east end of London - there was an interesting history with gangs from the 50s and 60s - they'll likely have some history.
