Bas made a reference to being “green like Goblin” … followed by Pete transforming that into “Me, she’s gobbling me and she can’t get enough of this joplin”. The word “joplin” is UK slang for a man’s “naughty bits”, so Pete was openly referencing oral sex. Bas beautifully followed that up with “Janice, I don’t know what the plan is, smoked so much that I’m stuck in the planets” … which references Janice Joplin but is ALSO a sideways reference to the Schoolhouse Rock song “Interplanet Janet”.

2 things. 1: Yeah, that beat by Lauryn Hill is dope, but it was a beat several years before Lauryn Hill, when an Irish singer, Enya, made the song Boadicea (I have no idea how to pronounce that), on the album "The Celts" in 1987 and was then sampled by Lauryn Hill (very nicely done, btw) with the Fugees in 1995. 2: Pete and Bas are awesome. You can hear at 7:32 when Pete drops a bar so fucking funny that Fumez the Engineer laughs out loud and didn't notice that he had a hot mic, but it was so good that he left it in the track.

Not sure if anyone else mentioned this, but the Janice Joplin reference is deeper than it seems at first glance.
Bas made a reference to being “green like Goblin” … followed by Pete transforming that into “Me, she’s gobbling me and she can’t get enough of this joplin”.
The word “joplin” is UK slang for a man’s “naughty bits”, so Pete was openly referencing oral sex.
Bas beautifully followed that up with “Janice, I don’t know what the plan is, smoked so much that I’m stuck in the planets” … which references Janice Joplin but is ALSO a sideways reference to the Schoolhouse Rock song “Interplanet Janet”.

I've been on them since 2020 when I first heard them on there track "do one" as a Bboy I couldnt deny what my ears had heard in depth bars trampling 95% of every rapper in the US. For the last three years quietly Pete and bas and only a handful of rappers hold my attention at this age. I loved and respect your energy during the reaction. My favs are "back to the old estate" and "Sindhu sesh" no disrespect to " Mr world wide" or "golf" cause in all honesty I've not heard shit but gold on all there releases.

1: Yeah, that beat by Lauryn Hill is dope, but it was a beat several years before Lauryn Hill, when an Irish singer, Enya, made the song Boadicea (I have no idea how to pronounce that), on the album "The Celts" in 1987 and was then sampled by Lauryn Hill (very nicely done, btw) with the Fugees in 1995.
2: Pete and Bas are awesome. You can hear at 7:32 when Pete drops a bar so fucking funny that Fumez the Engineer laughs out loud and didn't notice that he had a hot mic, but it was so good that he left it in the track.
