I had a question Spacedock, if say you were to ever do videos on the mechs used in the Gundam franchise, would you categorize them as space craft or would they be part of the "planetside" playlist? (there are some mechs made to work in space, some specialize purely for use on earth and some that have no problem operating in both)

It was always a little incongruous to me to stick these fancy fighter ships into a story about bounty hunters, but then I learned the backstory behind the show's production. Apparently in the early days the money for the show was going to come from bandai, and the instruction was design some cool spaceships and aside from that you can do whatever. Then Bandai pulled out but the ships had been designed already.

And might i recommend that if your going for anime ships you should look into the gundam franchise, specifically the series tied to the Universal Century time line (like the show that started it all). i think you'll like the gundam ships of the Universal Century because outside of the use of mecha in combat they all follow Hard Sci-fi design. Spacedock Hope it starts out with the Kushan Mothership, and how each successive upgrade shows a common design meant for factory assembly.
And how the biggest ships completely push the limits of fitting into the mobile construction yard.

The nose cone looks far too small to house a powerful radar ( not to mention Spike could detect bogies BEHIND him ) so I'm assuming the Swordfish maintains an encrypted data link to the Bebop with it's powerful sensor suite, or it hacks into the local planetary surveillance network through some kind of military-grade software or Radical Edward's handiwork ( which is probably better, anyway ).

It's a lot like Firefly, but with a proper story arc. It's also legendary for its music (John Williams has a shrine dedicated to Yoko Kanno) and its perfect voice dubbing.
You absolutely should watch it if you like SciFi.

This was a fun piece. But it left out an aspect of the Swordfish II that adds tremendously to the cool factor. When "push becomes shove", It's flown like driving a sport bike.

I think you could have done a better job showing the features as you were talking about them, especially the reversing/breaking feature that is somewhat unique to Cowboy Bebop. Having that scoop at the back that redirects the forward thrust is an ingenious way to solve the problem of reverse thrust in space.

eh.. it's pretty much concluded - which is why I am okay with it being over. That is much better than needlessly dragging things out as mainstream Sci-fi franchises are currently doing, just in hopes of making some more money. just look at the abysmal Disney Wars trilogy....

minute 1:40 we see the two grey lamps light (view from the cockpit) but we know and a little seconds after notice that there is only one because of the battle... so it is a little "forget" in the continuity.
