The great Ray Gillen!!! I wish he would've showed off his lower register more often. The best vocal talent of the mid-80's, bar-none! RIP forever, man!
Saw Badlands 20 years ago, and I still remember how impressed I was with their powerful performance. There simply is nothing around today to compare to the "awesomeness" that is Badlands. Simply amazing.
I love Jake's days with Ozzy, and the 'Seventh Star'/'Eternal Idol' era that feautured Eric and Ray was fantastic and VERY underrated I think. They sure had some fine concerts. 5 stars for this rare video, thanks for sharing. Much appretiated!
Ray sounds like Dio on the Ozzy tunes lol. That says something right there. When he did Neon Knights with Sabbath it was like RJD at his peak only with all his hair and platform shoes. Ray rules.
Jake E. Lee. What can I say. He is on of the best guitarist to come out of the LA scene, although he was born on the east coast(Norfolk Va.)not far from my hometown in eastern NC.Great fucking guitarist and really nice dude.Glad he is back with his new band Red Dragon Cartel!
Although he was consider hair guitarist and they run out of fashion as grunge overpowered pretty much everything its is shame that Jake was quiet all these years! I mean he is making music again now that he is 60 there are less years to catch him. He is a gem
Eric Singer was the drummer in Sabbath from 1985-1987. He was also in KISS, and now plays with Alice Cooper. Eric's drums are on both Seventh Star and The Eternal Idol.
I'm glad I heard this. Wicked version of a song that's more relevant than ever. Jake and Ray put a whole new spin on it. I can't stop playin it. What a great, great band they were.
Shame there is no better coverage than this jem of a video for their take on this song. This is such a cool thing as I never even thought about them cover an older Sabbath song despite Lee's time with the Oz. Keep this video alive!
Never knew Eric Singer`s past bands... damn too bad that the 80`s will never be back.. I REALLY, REALLY wish they would :P I mean I was born in`86 but I quess that was a mistake- I was supposed to be born in 70s,so that I could live my teen age in the 80s..Bad luck, I quess :(
I'm amazed by Jake's tone, and he's a good player, so props to him for that. And yeah this is one hell of a cover. I also liked the Faith no More cover, but this is definitely up there.
Paradoxically, it's easier to cover Dio than Ozzy :) somebody with vocal abilities and wide range, like Ray , could do it without problems. Ozzy's voice maybe isn't prominent but still unique. Ray could sing everything !
I saw ray with black sabbath in providence r.i. I was on something I had like twentyth row an i really felt like i was floating it was so loud and powerful1983 84 maybe..loved it trust me
While this is good and all (especially the late and great Ray Gillen), no trashy and flashy 80's guitarists should have ever been allowed to play Tony Iommi's music! It's kind of blasphemous!

WOW...Once a Jake/Ray fan, always a Jake/Ray fan!!
Badlands was such a great band
Indeed pal, one of the biggest and top into Hard Rock golden ages!

Better than Ozzy. R.I.P. Ray Rock In Peace
Ray can cover great Ozzy's and Dio's voice!
Every note from Ray is like pure gold

A great song covered by a great band! Jake is a monster!

HO
LEE
SHIT!!!!
They crushed on this live!! I've heard a LOT of bands cover War Pigs, but Badlands' version is the BEST!!!!
What an amazing band ...
oh wtf this is frickin fantastic!
so much great talent in the metal business that will never get proper recognition
I'm amazed by Jake's tone, and he's a good player, so props to him for that. And yeah this is one hell of a cover. I also liked the Faith no More cover, but this is definitely up there.
i think they should have played some songs from 2The Eternal Idol" originally recorded with Ray and "The Ultimate Sin" or "Bark At The Moon"
genius guitarist, just like the guy who wrote it,JAKE E LEE IS EQUAL TO TONY IOMMI, this is a treat
Paradoxically, it's easier to cover Dio than Ozzy :) somebody with vocal abilities and wide range, like Ray , could do it without problems. Ozzy's voice maybe isn't prominent but still unique. Ray could sing everything !
Their first album came out in 89 technically they are a 80s band.
They shoud have played something from The Eternal Idol originally sung by Gillen...The Shining For Example!
Indeed!
I wish I could have seen them in concert before the untimely death of Ray...:(
I saw ray with black sabbath in providence r.i. I was on something I had like twentyth row an i really felt like i was floating it was so loud and powerful1983 84 maybe..loved it trust me
🔥 🔥🔥
Killer!!!!!!!
YES,Jake Rocks .Kickin major Ass on guitar . Whatever. and he's in is one of my favorite bands .
this is pretty feckin cool. :)
you said it jay.so many great musicians didnt get there due because of the spandex clad 3 chord heros that just happened to have long hair.
@lisduggan64
You're right, i forgot about FNM's version!
i think it was d.a.d. disneyland after dark.i was at this show.
Red dragon cartel supposedly got a new vocalist and are working or have worked on a new album due out soon!
That's kind of shame , a vocalist simply sucks :/ RDC deserves someone with better vocal skills, like Ray , but ... 😢
Yes it is.
I think Eric has been back in Kiss for a couple of years wearing the Peter Criss makeup.
Jake E. Lee FUCKING' Great.
@bluetoe69 wasnt 80s ,90s .
ご機嫌な映像をありがとう😉👍🎶
...Jake @ 2:06 !!!
Dio 's voice is difficult to cover I guess, but ozzy's doesn't take much effort for a professional singer
wwwooooooooooooooooowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww
This is Ray Gillen right?
Yep
Is Eric the drummer or bass? Didn't know he was in BS as well as Ray.
While this is good and all (especially the late and great Ray Gillen), no trashy and flashy 80's guitarists should have ever been allowed to play Tony Iommi's music! It's kind of blasphemous!
Don't be jealous because you can only play nirvana.
