Easiest to think in these terms. K-Pop is an industry . It covers most genres and includes soloists and groups and is a term used mostly in the west to indicate that the artist is from Korea and has music that is popular. In Korea they don't really use the term K-Pop cause they call them Idols (or Idol groups). It is not common for Idol groups to write their own music or be so involved in their art. BTS has broken thru the barriers that come with being called "KPop Idols" and have become "Global Idols" instead. That said they are extremely proud towards their country of birth so being referred to as KPop stars does not bother them.. The reason so many ARMY get upset is that it is usually used in a derogatory manner when people just dismiss BTS as some little "KPop boyband."
Really enjoying your reactions... great to see you and your son connecting over music.
Sending greetings from Australia

Helpful hint for when you do RMs songs Joke and Do You (and BTS Debut song No More Dream) - the official MV on BTS channel does not have eng subs - here are the links with subs
Do You (Official MV with eng subs) ruclips.net/video/rN0_2jyOgzg/видео.html
Joke (Official MV eith eng subs) ruclips.net/video/OxMrBNBWksM/видео.html
Also - BTS No More Dream (2013 Debut song MV with eng subs) ruclips.net/video/btIzXwxDWOY/видео.html
ALSO - best quality live performances audio/video with eng subs, we like to use the youtube channel EnjoyBTSMore, she has put accurate lyrics to their most iconic performances.
Any other old BTS content (Interviews, backstage, etc) that doesn't have subtitles you can search the youtube channel BangtanSubs.
And..... Dial6137 has the most correct lyric videos.
Also BTS youtube channel is called BANGTANTV 💜

Hello! Hope you guys had fun watching…😊 When ARMYs say that BTS is not kpop we meant they have evolved…. Because they are so involved in their craft their genre and music ‘grows’ with them? If you get my drift? As a person who listen to kpop , very few groups in the kpop industry evolve because they don’t usually write their own songs…. Most of them are like britpop in the 80s & 90s(I am thinking Stock, Aiken and Waterman era); most groups last 5-7 yrs… very few grew and evolve to their 10th yr and beyond… I love music in general and have a wide range of genres that I listen to and BTS have done most of them as a group…. To me that is impressive… My daughter and I went to Suga aka August’D aka Min Yoongi’s concert in Singapore recently… got my mind 🤯 and my daughter worried 😂… have fun discovering them I only started listening to them seriously in 2017 although my students introduced me to them in 2014 (I find them too angsty then) but I will be following them through till the end… I’m too old to stan other groups anyways… Borahae (i purple you) 💜
That makes a lot of sense. We were getting confused 😂 but we totally get it now 🙏🏼😊
You asked ‘How come we never heard of them before’. I’m from The Netherlands and I have yet to meet another Army or someone who heard of them. Here they are not mainstream. I think that’s because they don’t play by the rules of the music industry. Their songs almost have no radioplay, because of payola. And the music industry works against them every way possible (BB/ Grammys). But luckily Army is strong. So BTS- and members-songs are always successful all over the world. Thanks for this reaction. 💜💜💜
It's horrible that they are treated this way when they are clearly so talented and wonderful human beings. But they can stand strong as they are and not be manipulated by the mainstream industry. I have felt the wrath of western music industry personally and wouldn't wish that upon these young men 😊🙏🏼
Hier nog een Nederlandse Army 💜...maar ook ik heb ze pas vorig jaar ontdekt. Tot daarvoor nog nooit van ze gehoord, nu helemaal ingezogen in hun verhaal en muziek. Heel bijzonder!
I think you underestimate the amount of people listening BTS's music in The Netherlands 😄 I also though that very few people know about them until the moment I found out my colleague I met is an ARMY. After that I've started asking people about their music tastes and have found quite some other ARMYs. And there are people who do not claim them as ARMYs but as soon as there are news about BTS they come to me and ask whether I'm aware what's happening (e.g. it was with their military enlistment) 🤣🤣🤣
To give you an idea in 2018 during BTS world tour they came to the Netherlands and sold out Ziggo Dome, so this is the least amount of ARMYs in NL. They were supposed to come perform in Rotterdam in 2020 but unfortunately it was cancelled..
Another NL Army here! And yes we are many (cried when didn’t get tickets for LY tour in AMS) but I feel most of the time like Whalien 52….with no other Army in sight
Listening to BTS in the radio is limited to the English speaking songs and My Universe, when there is so much good and meaningful music from them. I hope this will change in the future and that we also get included in the next concert tours 🤞🏻
@Xplozone Reacts, I like to make a few suggestions you could have cut the Taylor’s guide to BTS like a part one, part two, even part three or you could mute the music that they use because it’s BTS’s music that’s in the guide that’s why it’s being copyrighted! but this is a fan made guide you shouldn’t have any problems I’ve watched hundreds of other RUclips reactors that react to this guide 🤷🏻♀️💜 Thanks for trying
This is the first reactor I've seen that had to cut anything, so I'm wondering if it's on their side (VPN issue or something) since they've said they've had publishing trouble with almost all of their reactions.
Thank you so much I really wish I'd thought of that. We will learn! Haha! I really truly appreciate your comment 😊🙏🏼
The VPN issue actually may be a possibility. We'll look into that... thank you for bringing that up 😊🙏🏼
@XplozoneReacts If you didn't have to completely delete all your footage during editing, you could try what @laurahilliker5336 suggested and upload in two or three segments and see if it works. I'll watch it again since we'd have different comments and reactions from you guys. If you try it, I suggest adding "re-upload part 1" or something like that in the title, so people don't think it's the same one. 🙂
Me too
They are beyond k pop as far as their capabilities and musicality. Their originality and the fact they make their own music and have input in almost everything they do. Plus they pretty much built their record label into the power house it is now
Army will often state BTS is not K-pop
My feeling is that BTS started from and lives within the K-pop industry but they are completely different from what is considered K-pop music… partly because they work in so many genres and partly because they have successfully reached out to the world and the world has reached back. Together they form a culture into themselves; one of mutual love and respect. I don’t think there is another group in the world that has created a long playlist of music dedicated directly to and about their fans… including magic shop, 2-3, mikrokosmos, pied piper, bulletproof the eternal, moon, still with you, letter (dear army), take two, forever young, sea and more
I agree with you even BTS themselves call themselves kpop. However you are right they don't necessarily make kpop style music which i think others don't like to call them kpop.
Yes. VRS May refer to themselves as K Pop but only in the general sense K =Korean. pop+ popular music. Which is true. They are Korean and create popular music. But as you noted, they are beyond that. They write songs with meaning in various genres and not just fun, catchy poppy tunes.
I think that Bts, unknowingly break free from Kpop industry in some point.

Completly different opinions but both have their worth.

I just want to say that armies love long videos. What we don’t love is skipping videos to shorten the content. You completely skipped J Hope, barely watched Jungkook , and so on. This really takes the enjoyment out of it at least for me. I’ve watch this documentary more than a hundred times and never get tired of it, so please don’t skip over the contents related to BTS. I really like you two and it’s wonderful to see a father and son doing something they enjoy. So let’s watch full videos. Thank you.
P.S. If you cut the video due to copyright reasons I think one of the way to avoid is to get permission from the creator. I’ve seen other reactors do that and with no problems.
We'll try getting permission instead. I uploaded the videos but it's my son's channel. I don't really have a full understanding of RUclips so I've just tried to stick to RUclips's rules. It wouldn't publish unless I trimmed segments that RUclips flagged up. I'll know better for next time 🙏🏼
@@XplozoneReactsArmy disfruta ver todo el video de Taylor nunca nos aburrimos si se trata de BTS!!!
@@XplozoneReacts Completely understandable. I would just like to suggest that it may of been the music playing that was copyrighted so it wanted it cut. The alternatives Ik of are quieting the music, muting it for the time required. But I don't know much about it so there may be videos on the best options.
As you've said, they have been the biggest band for a few years, but you're only just finding out about them.
This is the result of them being suppressed by a western music industry that can't figure out how to exploit them, and has an aversion to artists of different languages and races.
ARMY are protective because we want more people to benefit from the positive and meaningful content.
But being categorized as just a pop boy band turn off most people that think BTS just do superficial pop songs.
BTS is a safe space that a lot of people don't know they need.
This is a wonderful comment. Thank you. I agree the western music industry (I've worked in it for 25+ years) will exploit anyone they can. I'm very happy to see BTS living their dreams and hopefully will continue to get world exposure without any prejudice or hate. They're brilliant! 😊🙏🏼

Hello Dad & Lad. This guide by Taylor is amazing. We are so happy to watch it with you again cause it is a reminder of hardworking and achieving dreams.
Hey there thank you so much we really appreciate it. We loved this video and will watch it again and again 😊🙏🏼
Thank you for sharing your BTS journey with us..... Not sure if you know.... Korean people count age differently to others...
Korean Age vs International Age - difference is 1-2 years depending on if their birthday has been.... In most videos, including this one, they are giving Korean ages so you will need to adjust.
In Korea when you are born you are considered 1 year old. Then on 01 Jan every year you add another year to your age, no matter what your birthdate is. ....
Year of birth - International age at Debut on 13June13 (Year and age became trainee)
Jin 1992 - 20 yo (2011 - 18yo)
Suga 1993- 20 yo (2011 - 17yo)
JHope 1994 - 19 yo (2011 - 17yo)
RM 1994 - 18 yo (2010 - 15yo)
Jimin 1995 - 17 yo (2012 - 16yo)
V 1995 - 17 yo (2011 - 15yo)
JK 1997 - 15 yo (2011 - 13yo)
(So JK was only 13 when he joined Big Hit and 15 when he debuted. )
Rule of thumb - if it's before their birthday - subtract 2 years to get international age. if it's after their birthday - subtract 1 year to get their international age.
EG: TaeHyung (V) born 30 Dec 1995 ...... current International Age 27 (Korean Age 29). ... 2 years difference
So Tae born 30 Dec 95 is 1 year old, then on 01 Jan 96 he is 1 more year older (so they would say he is 2 years old, when we would say he is 2 days old.)
So he was considered 29 in Korea since 01 January, we would say he is 27 turning 28 in Dec.
It's a different way of looking at age, from new years day - Tae is living his 29th year (since conception) - instead of - he turned 27 (since birth)....
The Korean Government is recently bringing international age as the standard in Korea, but all older videos will be referencing Korean age.
💜
Wow that's incredible. Thank you so much for the information 🙏🏼😊
The Korean age changed recently, now they count their age like the rest of the world :)
It's already being applied the international age as of June 28
It doesn’t matter anymore now. They changed it to international so it stops causing confusion and it’s just easier for everyone.
Though Korean age is still going to be used in a few areas, eg schools and military service. It is an easy shorthand for hierarchy and politeness reasons, so hasn’t gone entirely yet but for most things international age now applies.
Thanks for watching!! I was sad we didn't get to see the full unedited reaction, but that's okay
Thank you so much. I wish we could have bypassed copywrite without losing any of the video. But we still absolutely loved watching it and sharing what we could 😊🙏🏼
I have watched over 50 channels react to this and not one of them shortened it nor were they copyrighted. So not sure why you believe you would be on this. Taylor would not report it. And this is not a mv or the likes. So not sure why you think it would be an issue with yt.
@@alialex8825 I have seen some channels have copyright problems with it, specially for the parts that have songs in them, and I think the claim comes directly from hybe, not from Taylor😔
The copyright issue it's a really weird thing, I also don't understand why some channels have so much problems with that and others don't hahah it's just weird :(
@@alialex8825it is odd, but they are Welsh and possibly in Wales (or at least the UK) so maybe it's a regional thing? I do hope maybe they can sort it out and reupload the uncut version at some point.
23:50 Two are on military service at the moment - Jin, the eldest and J-Hope, the third eldest. Suga and RM will probably be going fairly soon. We are hoping they will all be back in 2025.🤞
They started as k-pop (being a hip hop group), but they outgrow the industry and they can be considered in their own category
I recommend these videos, from the boracity magazine channel, I think they have important information and that you might find interesting too:
1. an introduction to bts discography (from chapter one)
2. bts are rock stars | a video essay
3. Why don't most armies like kpop?
4. Why doesn't the boy band "hiatus" apply to BTS?
5. "the next bts:" why they fail every time.
6. why the music industry is terrified of bts
7. bts paved the way, why is it so hard to accept?
8. bts vs Spotify
Thank you 😊
@@XplozoneReacts the first video "introduction to BTS discography" is really important, BTS handles their discography in a completely different way than conventional, and it could give you an idea of the genres the group handles and can give you ideas of which songs you want to react. The second video called "BTS are Rockstars" is an explanatory video of what BTS have in common with rock bands.
Thank you for taking the time to watch the guide and for sharing your journey with us. It is nice to see the transition from thinking you won't enjoy their music to surprise over their range and talent to realising that they are amazing, humble people. This video only just touches on the struggles they faced, and it is good not to dwell in the past but just a couple of things to mention. KPop companies are not like our British record labels, they are entertainment companies not just music. The big 3 referred to in the video are JYP Entertainment, SM Entertainment, and YG Entertainment. Slots and airtime on music shows, interviews, radio play etc is all paid for. Big Hit Entertainment was a very small company, close to bankruptcy, so they couldn't pay. Slots and time on shows was rare and their performances often cut or not aired. BTS appreciate ARMY so much because fans found the through Soundcloud and RUclips and shared with their friends. Growth of ARMY was outside of normal KPop channels so the industry tried their best to keep them down, stop them succeeding. Fans of other groups made sure to spread unfounded rumours, they would turn off their fandoms light sticks when BTS did perform on shows so BTS would see what they refer to as a black wave, intimidating to see how little support they had back then. So when ARMY grew and the numbers of lights increased they could feel that support. Their song Mikrocosmos reflects this well, lone stars shining their best becoming it's own galaxy of lights. Whalien 52 also talks about a lone, unheard voice slowly recognised and spread through ARMY. The song We Are Bulletproof: The Eternal is a song for ARMY. I recommend seeing their earlier MVs first so you recognise the references in that video but the song is beautiful, main sentiment is "We are not 7 with you". They truly appreciate their fans and ARMY have supported and protected BTS in return. If a parent hopes their child has good role models in their lives, BTS members are the best role models they can have. They are polite, hard working, encouraging, supportive,. They promote self love, self esteem, looking after each other, acceptance of people for who they are, self improvement etc, etc. I am pleased that they are role models to my 2 children, and they brought us closer together as we share this bond of ARMY and common interest. Really looking forward to seeing more of their journey. Let us now how you want to go forward. ARMY can help guide you but in the way you want, earliest to newest, random favourites, the fictional story line BU, genre. You name it, we can guide. Borahae 💜
Some other huge updated accomplishments BTS achieved as a group & Soloist:
BTS are now 5x Grammy nominated
BTS have a total of 6 #1 Albums
J-Hope is the first Korean act to headline a major American music festival at Lollapalooza, selling the most tickets in its history. As well as selling out $1 Million dollars worth of merchandise.
Jimin became the first Korean Soloist to go #1 on the billboard Hot 100 with his single "Like Crazy" from his album Face.
Suga/Agust D became the first rapper in history to sell 1 Million copies of an album on its first day with his album D-Day. As well as becoming the first Asian act to top the Rap Albums chart
RM became the first Korean Soloist to land two albums billboard 200
Jin also sold over 7Million copies of his single The Astronaut
Jungkook also became the first Asian act to perform at the World Cup
V also broke multiple Guinness world records. As he broke the record for the fastest person to react 1M Instagram followers in just 43 minutes. Than another 10M I'm just 4 hours. And again broke the record of becoming the fastest person to react to 60 Million Instagram followers in the world.
Hi guys, love watching your reactions. You asked "Why haven't we heard of them before?" Well, you're in the UK like me and unfortunately UK radio won't play their songs. They didn't even give their 3 English songs much airplay. Jimin's recent solo song "Like Crazy" actually got to number 3 in the Top 40 and stayed there for three weeks and I didn't hear it on the radio at all apart from on Capital's chart show on the three Sundays it was in the charts. I even wrote to Capital Radio over a year ago to complain and ask why they wouldn't play BTS's songs and the reply I got was "we'll pass on your comments" to the person who prepares their playlist. Jungkook sang the World Cup theme tune and performed it live during the Opening Ceremony and BigHit and the BBC advertised the "World Cup Opening Ceremony at 3pm" but the BBC didn't show it, they just discussed Quatar's politics. BTS do have a huge following in the UK though. Their first visit to London in 2018 sold out the O2 for 2 nights and in 2019 they sold out Wembley Stadium for 2 nights (in 90 minutes!) when on the last night they were surprised by Army by singing to them (which you saw in the guide). Jin and J-Hope are currently serving and it looks like RM might be next. I hope you guys keep on the BTS journey - there's lots of content, not just songs and MVs but fun stuff too 💜💜💜
I really fully believe after reading another comment that the western music industry aren't able to exploit them as they do with everyone else.. which is infuriating that they won't play them on the radio here.
It's insane that the BBC did that and I'm repulsed by the way the just palmed you off. They need to understand that we would love to hear them on the radio here 🙏🏼
@@XplozoneReacts Yeah the western music industry does everything it can to not play BTS, downplay them, exploit them, cover them up, etc. from YT, to streaming platforms (Spotify), to BB charts, etc...
Apparently around the time they were releasing their English song and were getting a little radio play they had chances to get higher and played more but BTS refused to play by their rules (pretty much cheat and everything) and wanted to be authentic to themselves and have authentic success. For example, views to filtered out WAY more than most because YT loses money from them, because BTS don't monetize their videos and BTS have a high traffic, so they lose tons of money, so they filter tons of views (which also effect charts like BB). Or BTS don't do payola, so they just don't get played really. Or BB will change rules left and right to that will exclude BTS and the members or push the down the charts, for example: Like Crazy by Jimin went #1 on BB100 for 1 week, but it should have been eligible based on how many sales they got unlike the other song to be #1 a second week. However, they suddenly changed the rules to cut sales (oh and a ton of sales somehow went missing...p.s. ARMY have evidence) which made him fall down the BB100 chart the second week....
4:10 As of 2023, theyve won over 970+ awards both as a group and solely who continue to win awards as well as global chart titles by breaking records and making history etc.
6:40 Not only that but they became the first male kpop group in history to perform Permission To Dance at the UN Assembly.
8:06 Yes, BTS started as teenage talent but well-known by the locals in their hometowns but many tend to get confused when seeing this specific scene which is from their episode 8 finale of mini-series #BTSAmericanHustleLife that was filmed in los Angeles (2014), a year after their official debut. It was part of one of their missions of learning how to ‘self-promote’ by standing on the sidewalk trying to randomly invite people to their mini concert as well as learned from a few western artists under the supervision of coolio and warren g throughout the episodes before they performed at the end of the show with their debut songs “no more dream” and “we are bulletproof pt2” along with an ending encore to show what they’ve learned during the final episode.
15:20 He recently had lives to fold his laundry, work out, go to sleep, watch other members' content, introduce us to one of his friends (from another group)... just regular things for JK.
I got to watch his most recent workout one…with over *12 MILLION* other people. I wouldn’t have believed the number had I not seen it in real time.

BTS is a 7 member group who is now in their 10th year with a 350+ track discography largely written and produced by the members themselves conjoined by their inhouse producers. The leader 'RM' has 210+ credits making him the youngest most credited artist in Korea and the rest of the members are not far behind. BTS is known for being extremely profound at articulating what they introspect and composing it into the sound they with their artistic knowledge believe will deliver the emotion of their lyricsm. They began with their roots in hiphop but have experimented their way into currently having above 10+ genres in their discography with the main being hiphop, pop, r&b and electronic, but majority of the time its a fusion of these genres, or their subgenres. Like latin pop, old school hiphop with boom bap, rap rock, dance pop, ballads, emo hiphop, jazz etc. Since they articulate so well, their music is very human oriented adressing extreme mental health issues (all they way from comforting, motivating, to eery delivery with raw mvs that youtube asks for viewers discretion), sociopolitical commentary etc. Their discography shows the growth from school boys to the tribulations of youth, to addressing temptation, to reaching maturity, to loving onself, to finding the core essence of the mind (i work in the field of psychology and i have yet to find an artist that is as profound as bts in accurately potraying psychological themes) to fighting the pandemic to now doing solo albums as each of the bts members complete their mandatory military. They will come back as a group in 2025!

Btw, Biden grew up with quite a severe stammer, but deals with it so well most people don’t realise that. I'm glad you brought up the fact that BTS is massive, and yet you don't hear/see them every where? Why is that? well, the summary is that they are being sabotaged by the music industry because they didn't get popular and they are not succeeding through the industry standards. They became big on their own and through the fans support. They want to maintain their musical integrity and didn't want to shake hands with the corrupt industry execs so they are kept down as much as possible. The latest scandal is that one of the members (JK) announced his single will release on July 14th. Fans started to pre-order the single, and the very next day, Billboard decided to change the charting rules to sales from artists webpages will NOT be counted on the charts. Can you believe that? So if Celine Dion's fans purchased her songs/albums directly from her website or her authenticated pages, they won't be counted? That's ridiculous! I had to vote for Biden because the alternative was unthinkable, but please don't tell me you thought the Orange One spoke sense? I mean, he knows words, the best words, allll the words, but arranging them in logical ways is a challenge.
I am sooooo thankful they met Biden and never the previous occupant. But then, the previous occupant wouldn't have invited them or discouraged hate and violence against Asians. He, in fact, fanned those flames.
There has to be some serious cognitive dissonance in play to be a republican US-ARMY. We might not all be democrats, but MAGAs are very rare, thank goodness.
The alternative was scary! We're not American citizens so unfortunately we don't know the full story, but I'm glad you see your choice in a positive sense. That shows you in great light 😊

However if the advert involves bts welllllllll. Yes I will watch the whole thing :)
It's happened in the new video we've done too 🤣
I don't know if this will help with your upload, but others get it thru copyright by muting the volume on some of the music sections💜
Oh we'll have to try that. Thank you 🙏🏼😊
@@XplozoneReacts I don't think you have to worry about copyright issues with fan made documentaries....I've probably watched this 50 times and reactors have played it straight through, as is.
@@KimmyGibson we had a copywrite issue when it went through checks. With a list of clips to be trimmed out. Unfortunately we had to but we still loved every moment of it. It's a fantastic video 😊
@@XplozoneReacts I'm glad you liked it....sorry you had problems though. I wonder why some people have problems and others don't....doesn't seem fair. You and your son might be interested to know that RM learned to speak English without hardly a trace of Korean accent by watching the American sitcom 'Friends'. Borahae! ARMY grandma
As several already mentioned, I’m sad so much of the original video was edited out. I genuinely believe the creator (Taylor) wants her wonderful video to be as widely shared as possible. Most reactors I know have not encountered YT issues when uploading the full version and a few more cautious reactors have also been able to do the same by dividing their full reaction (in entirety) into 2-3 parts. Perhaps that will work for you?
Just want to add that if you can resolve your problems to find a way to show the ENTIRE reaction (in parts or whole) later, I’m sure we’ll all gladly watch it/them again with you and your son. Good luck!
Thank you so much. We'll definitely watch it again and again and film the whole thing again. Hopefully in 2 parts or 3 parts to see if that helps 🙂🙂🙂
I agree! If they can try to split this reaction into three videos, it might not get copyrighted? Couldn’t hurt to try💜
Finally! Thank you for the reaction! Appreciate it
You guys turned the caption right? 😂
😂 we sure did
Boracity just last week did a video on BTS discography, as there are many that focus on the members or group in general. I think it's worth watching (maybe for a reaction is a bit long, but neither she nor Taylor would ever copyright you).
ARMY is much more than "listening to BTS", or liking them (voting, supporting, streaming, all comes as part of it), but you could say you are in the right path knowing about them. ;)
Thank you so much. We sure will take a look 🙂🙏🏼
Bts is kingkpop ...we proud😭 ... army forever 💜 bts forever
Thankyou again for the reaction 💜
We really appreciate you being on this journey with us. We will continue 😊🙏🏼
We love our 7 dorky crackhead humble kings. There is a saying in ARMY you don't find BTS....... BTS finds you when you need them the most. 💜💜💜💜
Army's are very patient, would've loved to watch the entire video unedited or even in 2 unedited parts 💜💜💜
Unfortunately RUclips made us cut out sections which also made us sad 😢
Thank you for your reaction and I hope you will continue the journey 💜💜
Thank you so much. We sure will 🙂🙂
Gracias por seguir queriendo conocer a la maravillosa banda que es BTS, artistas tan completos!!!💜
Me encanta ver como se llevan tan bien padre e hijo gracias por reaccionar a los bts
Thanks for sharing your reaction!
Thanks for reacting to this. Please consider reacting to Jung Kook’s new single, “Seven” when it is release on 7/14/23. He was recently awarded the SEC “International Male Artist of the Year Award” and the “International Song of the Year” for “Left and Right” with Charlie Puth.
I'm surprised he didn't decide to drop his new song on the 7th...😅 his song 7 would have dropped on 7/7/23 😅💜
I like your reaction. Thank you for reacting to them
Our pleasure!
I’m an ARMY since 2016 and i love long videos. You guys are awesome! Please upload the unedited video. 💜😊
Unfortunately I had a new phone which I saved the videos to the old one and lost it 😩 but we can react again if everyone would like us to 🙏
BTS vs K-POP: a video essay is a good one to explain why army’s don’t like it when you reduce BTS to just another K-pop group. Some ppl have already explained it in the comments but the videos dives deeper and will help you understand K-pop better as well as what sets BTS apart from it. Their conclusion is that yes BTS IS a K-pop group, but having that statement come from someone who does understand kpop and BTS history means something completely different than someone who doesn’t saying it.
We'll certainly take a look! ☺️🙏🏼
Thank you so much for your sincere and respectful reactions to BTS💜, I'll be waiting for the next video🫰
Thank you so much 🙂🙏🏼
3:56 Yes you could learn much from this guide and here is some additional information: it is still currently known somewhat most updated guide since #sugarandspice, #xceleste and #IdaS guides from several years ago, there’s still some missing info you can obtain through those other guides in your free-time. Even though most ARMY sees them as seven rappers, vocalists, dancers, composers and producers - some continue to hold onto certain info when it comes to the roles. *BTS is a multi-rounded group b/c each member has several different roles, talent and skill set.*
4 RAPPERS
RM - main, leader
SUGA - main
JHOPE - lead rapper
JUNGKOOK - sub rapper (he started out rapping early years)
4 VOCALISTS
JUNGKOOK - main
JIMIN - lead
V - vocalist
JIN - vocalist
JHOPE - sub vocalist (contributes vocally in some songs)
4 DANCERS
JHOPE - main
JIMIN - main
JUNGKOOK - lead
V - lead
I hope you watched the parts you chopped out because even cut some of the member intro's (Suga, Jungkook and Jimin's) and their roles were cut out. I haven't seen anyone else have an issue of copyright with this particular video, so that's weird. Anyway, hope you learned more about them and have an appreciation for their individual talents now.
We watched the whole video. RUclips listed a lot of segments to cut before we could publish. We have issues with almost every video we upload. It's my son's channel so I won't risk the strikes when I upload. Hopefully the issue will stop one day
I’m sure you are getting many comments about cutting up the video for copyright…probably because all of us has seen 100 reactions to this without that issue….hoping there is some army that knows the way around for future reference, I’m afraid I’m not quite sure …..but regardless love you guys, my daughter and I are army together as well….love that you are doing this together. look forward to your journey💜💜💜💜
Correct Laura is right there are a lot of reactors that deal with this and some are successful u shud check them out.. I’ll tell u about my experience of this 1 day anyways gd Job guys BTS r awesome and have been since Gloss
For me it's fine you guys cut parts or not as long as you watched the whole video😌💜
Thanks for sharing your thoughts with us 💜🇺🇸🙏
Thank you for watching 🙂🙏🏼
Thank you for your reaction. I really enjoyed it. 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜🫰🏻
Thank you so much 😊😊
Well spotted yes those are all live clips either from concerts or award shows.
Obrigada por assistir ao vídeo ❤
If you are able to upload the whole unedited video, i'll watch it again💜
They don't support the Biden's Admin but BTS took a stand against Asian Hate.
I think as you dive into BTS more....you will know the context of why some say that BTS is not Kpop.
Enjoy the BTS journey.
I’m a 54 year old American ARMY and I don’t like most politicians honestly, or either of our two main political partys, so I’m not trying to be political when I share this. When I heard BTS was coming to the White House my first and ongoing thought was, “I hope Biden doesn’t say anything embarrassing in front of NamJoon.” These chaotic seven humble young men are too intimidating, I don’t know what I’d talk with them about (if I was bright enough to learn all of their beautiful language)! 💜
I’m so grateful for OG ARMY who supported them from day one, which is why I was able to find them much later. 💜
Vaya no esta completo... espero q lo hayan visto en verdad... hay partes geniales q no salieron😢
We saw it all but RUclips made us cut. This made us sad 😢
I think what people mean when they say they're not K Pop is just that they're so much more than that.
You guys watched the whole video right? I'm not sure why you had trouble with this one, cuz I've watched so many reactors do this one with no problem. I hope your copyright issues can get ironed out. I miss being able to see it with you.😊
Thanks for watching! I really like Taylors guide so much!💜
Yes indeed we did. We have issues with all of our videos but we usually find a way. Unfortunately we have received another copywrite strike for BTS butter which won't upload. But we will not give up on BTS 😊
For you 💜💜💜because BTS 💜💜
Gracias por la reacción 👏👏💜💜💜
Taylor, boracity magazine and xceleste always give the correct info
Thank you so much 🙂🙏🏼
Gracias por reaccionar a bts los chicos son muy lindo como persona actualmente están en proceso de que entren al militar pero nosotras Army los esperaremos 2025 esperonsigas reaccionando en grupo y solos
Whatever you called them. They are BTS.
22:20 To make a long story short, music industries push whoever gets them the most money and other agendas.
I always say that how BTS came up was mostly on fans' drives, our drive to share their music to people, radio stations, channels, journalists, etc etc etc. And yeah, we've both been burned many times by these media people in power, but we still pushed on. So together with BTS' drive and ARMYs' drive, we both came up (Suga said something very similar in a more poetic manner lol). BTS doesn't deal much with payola so they don't get playlisting much, radio spins, articles, etc etc. But they have a very dedicated fanbase that is now so big and worldwide that they don't have to play by the music industry's unfair games. I remember in the early days we saw how they were being ignored, looked down on, and insulted due to their clothes, skin color, looks, style, race, speech, music, lyrics, everything, just because they were vulnerable at the bottom of the rung so they were easy to pick on. At that moment, we as fans wanted them to rise up so high so that they would have some power, enough to not be looked down on like that again. I'm proud of how far they've come.
Anyway, I said long story short, but I started reminiscing and rambling. Sorry! Going now hahahaha
💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
you two are lovely.
💜
Bts speak at the Un for 3 times beacuse the are collabing whid Unicef, the even did there song Permission To Dance inside and outside off the Un building
Please bts- outro:tear lyrics+live (rep-line)
Just asking....did you watch the whole guide or what was cut out of your screening, was it skipped out completely? Forewarning - ARMY may have a bias (favourite) but missing one is like you skipped out and missed their bias....lol.
Yeah lol we said at the beginning what we expected RUclips to do. RUclips did exactly that. I had to cut bits out or it wouldn't be published. We struggle with this a lot. But a lot of suggestions from comments we read may have a way around it. So we'll hopefully not have to suffer RUclips's wrath again lol
Thanks guys I hope they see live songs like Black Swan and So what and fake love and Danamite and butter and a lot more ❤
I'm waiting for you.
Thank you 🙂🙏🏼
FYI, xenophobia is the fear of foreigners.
Rice Squad, Ida S, & Xceleste also have some more great BTS intro vids as well as an ARMY intro
Plse, look at the office and achievement of getting there. Presidents come and go. And “K-pop” was defined by the big three company’s. Which BTS were the first outside company to win awards in. Previous to them NO ONE outside those 3 ever won anything. The companys since have been trying to destroy BTS. They are pissed that a group outside their “circle” has surplanted them. Now Hybe (BTS company) is bigger than the three companies combined. Lots of history there. Now that BTS has made it bigger than any star in Korea SUDDENLY BTS is now representing all of kpop. The company’s have since been trying to copy them, replace them with the “next BTS” even when BTS still exists! In Korea they retire groups faster than you change underwear. The next big thing! South Korea doesn’t understand artists and legendary groups like the rest of the world does. They never had any.💜 So yes, BTS is in K-pop, but they are NOT kpop.
Reacting to Taylor's video used to be fine but I find out lately with the new reactors, they got hit by a lot of copyright. It is sad that I could not see your reaction on a lot of parts but I still appreciate you chop off some parts of the video so you can be posted on YT for us to watch.
The way to be able to post it all is to either mute the copyrighted part or cover it with other sound.
For some live performance that are copyrighted, you can cover the video with big letters/words or blur it so we still can see your reaction and some part of the video so we know that you reacted to which part.
If BTS is so big, why you never heard of them?
Because they don't follow the rule of the music industry and media.
When they debut, their company BigHit doesn't have a lot of money to the point of nearly bankrupt. So BTS never given a chance by media and music industry. They got big slowly because of ARMY. When they start to get big, the big 3 Kpop industry try to kill them and put them down.
As in US, BTS still doesn't want to follow the music industry rules to pay payola so they got cheated a lot such as always nominated in grammy and never given a chance to win and grammy only use ARMY to gain views and rating, Billboard always change the rules to try not give a spot for BTS to win, same as, spotify, and youtube. You might not know that youtube actively cut the number of views in BTS MV a lot. This is due to BTS doesn't give them profits as other artists or company that pay them.
Every time BTS win no 1 on billboard, billboard always change the rule to try to chop the highes number that BTS have in the certain category, etc.
It might confuse you when you heard BTS is not Kpop and in the video said BTS is Kpop.
BTS is Kpop but goes beyond Kpop. Saying that, BTS doesn't really fit all the rules of Kpop.
Kpop is not a genre. Kpop is an industry.
Kpop generally the idol usually just sing and dance and don't have a say to what song the company want them to sing. The song was written and produce by other people and only given to them (but after BTS' success, some company now give their idol a bit of freedom in their involvement on their song or have a say in it) .
Kpop industry usually about appearance so a lot of idols that are not pretty/handsome enough are pressured to have beauty surgery by the industry.
Before BTS, Kpop lyrics usually shallow, no deep lyrics until BTS' success some of them try to copy and follow.
Kpop songs from a Kpop group usually have a tendency of similar? in a way that I could not explain.
These are not in BTS. BigHit give them full freedom to create their own art and songs. Even their debut song was to challenge their generation about their dream and mindset against the culture. In their other song in 2013 when most of them still teenagers, they also challenge the Korean education system.
And as I said before, BTS was pushed down by Kpop industry.
Since sometimes saying BTS is Kpop has the tendency of downgrade them due to the how people think of Kpop, some ARMY doesn't want to categorize them as Kpop in the hope for other people to give them a chance to see how talented they are and how their musics and arts are vary, deep and relatable and that their music can bring a positive impact to more people.
Thank you for reacting to BTS and welcome to the BTS' world.
Borahae 💜
8:39 Just to explain a bit why some people say BTS isn't kpop. BTS started off as kpop and for all intents and purposes, they are kpop. However, I would say they are kpop and beyond. They gone so above and beyond out of any traditional sense of genre that even though it's easiest to categorize them as kpop, they are more than that now as well. One other thing is that a few years back, some salty kpop fans from other fandoms came together and made an unofficial kpop coalition and told us ARMYs that they were expelling us and BTS from the world of kpop hahahah. So a lot of ARMYs just rolled with it and "ok then, yeah we're not kpop anymore. it's bts-pop. buh-bye". hahahaha
Good one guys 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
Thank you! We've really enjoyed this band. They're different to what we usually watch/listen to. But they really stuck in our heads. Of course I'm gonna metal them up with my own versions 😁🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
I am going to start watching this video but the original Taylor guide es 46 minutes and yours is only 26. Did you skip parts of it? Usually reactions are longer than the original. Do you have some kind of restriction? 😞. I hope you watched all of it and can only share half of it with us.
Finished watching. Too bad you could no react to all of it with us. There were barely 10 seconds for J-Hope. Thanks for reacting anyway.
Sorry I had not read your introduction where you explained the reasons for the short version.
Hey that's ok. RUclips gave a list of segments we had to unfortunately cut before we could publish. We were so sad about it, but I have to follow the rules as it's my son's channel. We truly love the band. This video was fantastic 🙏🏼
@@XplozoneReacts I understand, rules are rules and you have to abide by them. I had not seen it happen before with the Taylor guide. It seems they are being more and more strict
I'm sorry in advance, but I think you guys edited this video too much...because you didn't show a lot of important videos, there were too many cuts...I know you saw the full version, but we also want to see your reactions when you watch the full video, because there are many reactors that display it really full video no cut
Borahae💜
That's ok. It's my son's channel and we always have copywrite issues so when I upload I have to follow the copyright rules so my son doesn't get strikes and lose his channel. We absolutely loved watching this video 🙏🏼
@XplozoneReacts Is your son's channel flagged as 'under 18' or something that might be implementing weird YT rules for his content? I'm sorry, I don't know the age of your son or if YT even has any rules about under 18 content-creators. But I was wondering if that could be it (besides VPN restrictions).
You didn’t even include the introduction for j-hope. It was just suddenly him for 12 seconds running around around scared of a bug and on to the intro for Jin. J-hope is currently serving in the military, so it’s a shame you left absolutely everything substantive about him out of this video. I heard your explanation for the edits, but…I hope you’ll try again or something. Because all seven matter equally.
Also, BTS isn’t just the biggest boyband in the world. They are the biggest band - full stop, no qualifiers. In 2020 and 2021 they were the top artist - full stop, no qualifiers - in the world, according to IFPI. They. Axe history as the first artist to rank #1 for two years in a row, in the history of the IFPI’s rankings. Their solo music doesn’t count for the band’s numbers or they would have done it again in 2022, most likely. As it was, as a band they were ranked #2 behind only Taylor Swift.
We saw it all but RUclips trimmed segments or we couldn't publish the video. It's my son's channel so I follow the rules to avoid risks so he doesn't get any strikes. We hoped everyone would understand.
The band are absolutely fantastic! We love them!
@@XplozoneReacts I know the why, and it's not that I don't understand exactly, but it just would have been better to leave IN the introduction and remove the 12 seconds of him running around scared of a bug, in my opinion...since I believe the introductions of everyone else were left in. I second the suggestion someone else made, to have posted the video in multiple parts. Once you watch the xCeleste hardships video, you'll understand better why leaving hobi out pretty much entirely was a sad choice.
I noticed you skipped over several parts during RM’s section that was disappointing. I didn’t want to watch afterwards. I hope you actually watched the whole video. Thank you for taking the time to share.
No we didn't skip, we watched the whole thing but unfortunately RUclips made us cut out a lot of sections.
Thank you for watching 🙏🏼
I was thinking the same, totally skipped JHope.👎🏻
chrome extension will take care of the ads.
Oh we'll try that. Thank you 😊
How can I watch the full version of this reaction
The link is in the description 😊🙏🏼
next time try pause, rewind and forward moments where bts performance is going, it could prevent from blocking it.
That's a good idea 🙂🙏🏼
Thank you for reacting I was so excited when i saw your video reacting about this video but when the video skip i stop watching it. You missed a lot about the members.I watch this how many times but I always enjoyed watching them when someone reacted on this video.
RUclips made us do it or we couldn't upload. We watched the whole video

We certainly will. Thank you 😊😊😊
It's a long video if you skip it you can't understand and know them well ..
We watched it all but RUclips had a lost of segments to cut out or it would publish. This also made us sad
@@XplozoneReacts I've watched every new reactor for how many times everytime they've come to the guide of Taylor just experience why the intro of Rm was not shown and jump to last portion of him sorry to say that... anyways have a great day borahae💜
10:09 🤔There definitely was a whole small section right before this scene?
10:50 RM’s 148 IQ for the longest time until retesting with midexams or KSATs and what I thought was his new recorded IQ at 190 turned out to only be his english composition test score, which I’ll have to go back to rewatch #ProblematicMan to see what his new IQ is (if mentioned). Also, he learned english during his teen years watching “Friends” and later taught the rest of them along with JHOPE who shared in teaching them english as well. *All the members can speak decent amount of english to hold full conversations.*
11:34 *Really, you cut all of their name intros out why? That was important information.*
@hobihatesnakeu8173 of course they did [sighs] I really dislike when that happens ... If they had questions or whatever, how we suppose to answer them if they just going to cut up the reaction?
It was cut post edit due to the rules. Otherwise we weren't able to publish our video. RUclips has done that to is many times, also completely blocked some of our videos completely. It's my son's channel so I won't risk more copywrite strikes, or he'll lose all of his hard work. As you can see, we're not pros with editing. Just a father and son that enjoy watching these videos together.
