'An Aussie Audiophile', who has a RUclips channel, played a song on his stereo for everyone to hear. I liked it so decided to stream the Qobuz version. The voice sounded a bit off. My system has a phase inversion button so I decided to try it. Her voice sounded more natural after inverting the phase.
I've had this system for about ten years now and that one time is the only time I could hear an improvement (and still do whenever I play the same song), and the only reason I tried is because I found it odd that someone would post that song as an audiophile song when the voice was clearly off. So yeah, I'm with Paul; don't worry about it.

I would as Paul says, not worry about it. If however you were to change pins, do it on the chassis female to whichever component has been wired incorrectly. The proper XLR wiring standard is :
    1. Ground
    2. Hot (+)
    3. Cold (-)

I've got a Laserdisc copy of Close Encounters which was accidentally phase-reversed, so in Dolby Surround mode all the front dialogue comes from the rear speakers. These were withdrawn and reissued to retail stores but highlights the importance of phase.

An example: the Marantz PM 11 S2 has inverted phase. I think Accuphase and Burmester also do that. Different standards; European and American. On my Yamaha AS-2200, on the back, there is a switch between "hot and cold", very practical.

why not make a set of xlr cables with the pins reversed for this special case pin 2 on one end connects to pin 3 on the other end. you will need two cables.

Actually this 'problem' is easy to fix. Pin2 of the female plug connects to Pin3 on the male plug. You basically flip the phase at the connectors removing any issues at either of the 2 devices. Make sure to just put a sticker on the plug which pin is hot(+) and all is OK.
