I really enjoyed the video. I appreciate the way you see and compose. Excellent photos from a 50mm lens. You show what's possible with just that lens. Watching on my iPhone, I can't tell how grainy the cinestil is, especially at 3200. Images looked great! Thank you.
Thank you very much for making time for us during your stay in Chile. Awesome images and pretty nice music, hands down. Looking forward to your X-Pro2 video, too (I have a Fuji X-T1 for my digital stuff)
I got so stoked when you said these were the musicians from your videos! That's one of the things I love about you videos, the music is so cool! This is so rad 😂
There's no telling how old the Film is when it's processed once more. I ordered a roll of cinestill It was short dated when i got it. ( it expires this year). That's why they make the disclaimer nothings guaranteed. This is excellent work .
Dude the results are outstanding! I really like the way the video was shot and the band is awesome. Such a great combo of music and photography. Fantastic stuff - really enjoyed every second of your video.
Really good video. I loved the shots and the ways and different angles you took to shoot them. Band photography isn't the easiest part of photography, so to see you get better results than I have in the past is great.
Man honestly I found myself in your channel for almost 2 weeks straight and I have to be honest man ur wokrs are inspiring! Its a piece of art that I can look to and learn. Thanks to ir uploads
Great video Eduardo, I've not tried any of the art films like this one but will do so in the future. as usual your photos and commentary are very inspiring. fantastic music by the way.
I like the last one too..o.n the film photography Project they said that when you develop it that you should wash off the black on the backside of the negative and this would get rid of some of the color imbalance and blueish tents..I've never done it so I just don't know...I have shot daylight balanced CineStill and sent it in to a professional lab and they turned out really good...I scanned the negatives but didn't have to do too much to them.
these look great! cinestill 800t does really incredible things in those low/mixed light situations, and is probably my #1 recommendation for them. On the other hand, I have also used it as a daylight snapshot film and it does that pretty well too, but you have to know how to balance the colors in post. you can certainly get good colors off of a flatbed, but you will almost always have to do some corrections like you did here.

Looks really clean even at 3200 ASA... what the heck!
Great video. When you use a light meter with the M3 do you take a reading of the general area which you will photograph and then shoot all your shots based on that one reading or do you meter before every shot?
Thank you for this video, I have a cinestill roll i'm saving so I can shoot at night and Im also going to send it out to get it developed and scanned. The photos came out great!
Thanks for another episode. I kind of liked the look you showed here, but then again you said you had to tweak the scanned negatives in post to get them closer to what you like. Curious, you said the scans of the film were not to your liking and had to tweak them a bit. But, how do they look like printed? There's obviously some difference in scanning digital negatives, especially if the scanner isn't necessarily set up correctly to scan this particular type of filme, versus printing them straight from the film. Did they appear as you hoped when printed? Did you have them printed to compare? And, if you did, the results when printed were still not to you liking?
I have the same problem with cinestill, in that I never seem to get shots that look as good as they could (should?) do. I am off to London this weekend with some rolls, but I fear for the worst already! Let's hope you find the magic to unlock the secrets of this film!
Yeah. I shot 4 rolls of it in Prague a month ago. Had them professionally scanned and I just wasn't happy with the results. Might have to do more research and try again.
I've shot 10s of thousands of frames of concerts with digital and film. The amount of good images you made with the M3 and one roll is truly impressive. But I agree that the color and range with Cinestill (seen here) is not impressive. Since going back to film, I've been really unhappy with my own results in low and poor light. Digital is just way more forgiving and maleable for this work. Film is hard to beat when shot in good light. But manual focus, advance, no light meter and a prime for a club concert!?!? That's just nuts! Great video and compositions. And great band and music! Hope to see some pro scans eventually. I plan to do pro vs home scans for a roll of my own soon. Seeing your shots pro scanned vs your home scan might make for an interesting video!
Thank you Douglas! Really appreciate your input. I want to make a pro vs flatbed scan test with some Vision3 film soon. It would be awesome to see your results, too. All the best and thanks for watching and commenting!
Hi Ed i know your away on tour hope your having fun when you get back would you be able to do a tut or explain how you developed pushed C41 i understand how to push and pull B&W but C41 just confuses me
I sent this for a lab. I still haven't pushed C-41. It's the same as D-76 but I haven't done it. I'll try to make it happen soon and show the results! :D
Do you have any advice for shooting events like these where all the attention is focused on a small-scale performance? I guess there's some cross-training from your experience as a wedding photographer, but I always find it awkward to be walking right around the performance where I feel like a major distraction. It's the complete opposite of the streets where I don't mind if people notice me.
hi ed, my name is frank and i am from the netherlands, beekman is a very dutch name, maby one of the guys is from the netherlands, btw, very good video and photo's
Oh man I really enjoyed this episode... as I always enjoy your videos. To be honest, I don't like color film that much. 98% of my film stuff I'm shooting on b&w film (HP5+, Tri-X or APX). These special and awesome film look (im combination with the superb grain) I only get with b&w. Another point: I don't have the expertise of C-41 development (also no equipment, too expensive...). So I would give my color films to the lab and thats what I don't want to. But it's just a personal preference ;) So don't get me wrong :) I just can't see the benefit for me. What I really like about your episode: The compositions! You've got a fantastic eye man. The photo with the piano - amazing! All of the photos are brilliant! You always want to find negative space and you are looking for lines... With a perfect sense of light - even with the M3, without light meter. That's awesome! Okay, very much text, sorry for that. But I wanted to point out the artistic aspect a little bit more. So please, please keep shooting! Have a nice week my friend ;)
Very nice to see you are shooting the cinestill Film I have done also. Did you get your film developed in a regular say industrial laboratory or had you a professional hand made development of your cinestill? Would love to hear about your experience with the cinestill. And last question, did you ever tried the cinestill50?
It was developed in a small film-only dedicated lab in Santiago. I haven't tried others. I have only tried this roll. It's basically Kodak Vision3 respooled and with the remjet removed.
Woo! :D More Leica M3! Was just talking to you about this yesterday, nice to see another video to help my decision :) Another question in the case you see this, have you ever shot with a Leica CL? If so, thoughts?
Yeah I agree the film has lots of positive potential if used in the correct situation: low light, nightime citiscape scene, indoor concerts, dusk, dawn, artificial lights. The colors will get less punchy if pushed. I just wish they offered it in 120 medium format.
Maybe try it outside at night where there lots of street lights. Vegas or Times Square would be a great place for that film. I've seen people shoot it in Hong Kong and the results are amazing.
Oh man.. Jazz and photography is my favourite combo!
Beautiful everything. So much art in this video man.
thank you, man!
this is my favorite video, beautiful colors, great lighting on that piano, and amazing music. THANK YOU
My favorite image from the roll is the drummer with the bass player in the background nice and soft 3:50. This image tells the whole story.
I really enjoyed the video. I appreciate the way you see and compose. Excellent photos from a 50mm lens. You show what's possible with just that lens. Watching on my iPhone, I can't tell how grainy the cinestil is, especially at 3200. Images looked great! Thank you.
I'm impressed at how well it holds up at 3200, especially since it's a base 800 c41 film! It's gritty so not for everything but it looks great here.
What a great combination of live jazz and film photography🔥🔥
Live jazz + analog film = perfect match !!
So much talent and artistic expression, this is life. Cheers to every musician and to Ed man for tastefully documenting with such ease
Love how you layer you photographs. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you very much for making time for us during your stay in Chile. Awesome images and pretty nice music, hands down. Looking forward to your X-Pro2 video, too (I have a Fuji X-T1 for my digital stuff)
Try to scan the film with a dslr + macro lens + light table combo. You'll be amazed at the quality you can get with that setup.
Fall in love with your videos. Awsome photography.
Dude the results are outstanding! I really like the way the video was shot and the band is awesome. Such a great combo of music and photography. Fantastic stuff - really enjoyed every second of your video.
every shot you taken is so beautiful and amazing. Inspired from you. thank you
It looks like it handled the push to 3200 quite well! Great shots of a great band too, thanks for the video!
Probably my favorite video of yours so far! The music, the photographs, the atmosphere! Keep it up!
I really like the way of you shooting and composing the scene. Very good work!
looks good tho the result.. im awaiting my cinestill800 to finish.. so excited
Love this Video! Music and some really great shots!
Some of my favorite shots here...great mood! Cheers.
Thank you so much to post these wonderful and very informal videos, you totally changed my shooting style!!! Brilliant video and photos!!
Thanks to ir uploads
nice! have you thought of uploading each video's shots on an album on flickr?
Great video Eduardo, I've not tried any of the art films like this one but will do so in the future. as usual your photos and commentary are very inspiring. fantastic music by the way.
Some of your best shots
i agree, these are definitely better than usual. good job OP! great video too, the music works great together
Great shots! Love it!
Excellent stuff. Love the music and raw feel of the pictures.
great shots, great music, great camera -- keep it up!
You got so much great shots!
Thought the photos were Great. Will look forward to the next episode being an Fuji user and just purchased the Pro-2. ;)
Nice job man, great shots and yes the portrait at the end is just so beautiful!
I really enjoy all of your videos, and the music is absolutely amazing!
Hey man..images looked really good..rich colors...just shot a roll of that film..waiting for negs and scans..
Jazz and film, good old times...bravo!
Such a nice video & such lovely light. Really enjoyed it : )
YEAAAAAH !! A x-pro 2 "shooting digital" episode ! I cant wait !
I like the last one too..o.n the film photography Project they said that when you develop it that you should wash off the black on the backside of the negative and this would get rid of some of the color imbalance and blueish tents..I've never done it so I just don't know...I have shot daylight balanced CineStill and sent it in to a professional lab and they turned out really good...I scanned the negatives but didn't have to do too much to them.

beautiful color!
Great shots ! I Was suprised as to how well it came out since it was pushed to 3200, didn't look like much grain which was surprising !
Great video. When you use a light meter with the M3 do you take a reading of the general area which you will photograph and then shoot all your shots based on that one reading or do you meter before every shot?
Loved this one :-) So much going on!! Love the shots too :-)
I've never seen color film shot at 3200, these look way better than I expected!
Good work Eduardo, please do another video but in London's streetscapes at night.
Muchas gracias, Eduardo!!! Un saludo
Thank you for this video, I have a cinestill roll i'm saving so I can shoot at night and Im also going to send it out to get it developed and scanned. The photos came out great!
Quedó bastante bien en general.
I can't believe how amazingly talented those musicians are. I would love to see them live
Amazing shots too, of course
Thanks for another episode.

Quedaron excelentes las tomas y la banda, un siete.
¿Dónde puedo ver cuándo tocan, etc? La página no me funciona.
Saludos!

Eduardoo en que laboratorio lo digitalizaste? jpf? estan muy bellas.
nice work as usual...
off topic: where can I purchase one or many of their music on LP (Vinyl records)
I'm particularly fond of their style
I don't think they have any LPs, but they are on Spotify, for sure!
your picture are so perfect
Muy buenas tomas. En definitiva la toma final de la chica se ve MATONA!! saludos amigo!
Muchas gracias, Angel! :D
The music and subject of this video was really good man. 👍👍
Oh and these CineStill scans looked awesome. None of the oddness in the past.
amazing work!!!))
greetings from berlin)
hi ed, my name is frank and i am from the netherlands, beekman is a very dutch name, maby one of the guys is from the netherlands, btw, very good video and photo's

quality episode, great images. p.s. such accomplished musicians. where can i see them perform live?
they play in many places, go to beekmanmusic.com/ and under the "gigs" tab, they post all the future dates. :)
And I hope you could do an episode on how yoi document those film already developed. :)
2:40 a vintage leica shooting a vintage steinway, doesnt get better than this!
Que bonita cámara Ed
thanks for squeezing this one in Eduardo!
What is the song in this?
OMG, You are the Tenemos Explosivos guy.
Buen vidéo ! 🙌🏻🙌🏻
I get hella Saul Leiter vibes I love ur vids man :)
Was just talking to you about this yesterday, nice to see another video to help my decision :)
Another question in the case you see this, have you ever shot with a Leica CL? If so, thoughts?
I've never used a CL. sorry! :(
Not a problem, was only curious! :) Great video by the way!
Only 24 exposures? Last time I shot a roll of CineStill it was 36 exposures + 2 or 3 on the leader.
I also use cinestill film before. I like conestill 800 more than 50. It is because cinestill 800 provide wide range of setting for my camera.
I had the same issue with Cinestill. But mate, this film shines out at night city lights, you should try it outdoors..You get these magic halos..

I'm curious about the lighting of the concert. seems to not fit the tungsten film... was it lit with fluorescent lights ?
I noticed that too, the strobing on the video would suggest led or fluoro lights.
wow this is nice, as always but better because of the live music thing :P
Saludos desde Uruguay Eduardo!
Thumbs up for Fernando.
How did that random light leak appear in only some of the pics?
estas en chile?:oooo haz un meet up:'(
1:03 👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼
I like the XPAN + Cinestill video more than this one because the field of view of XPAN and the blue moody colors of Cinestill creates magic.
I also get great results in "daylight with tungsten lights in the frame" with this film.
That shot with woman and the bokeh looked great.
Hola Eduardo, tengo una M3 y me surgen unas dudas te puedo escribir? si es así donde. Saludos
Pushed 3 stops?

Come back to thai again bro!
