    Thank you for this beautiful experience Buffy….love your techniques with watercolour. Your tutorials are like a beautiful immersive experience, with the beautiful guitar pieces blending perfectly like aural paint….and no need for speech! Perfect, thank you so much❤

    Love all the textures…hard and soft edges and wonderful selection of colors in this painting. Stunning!😊

    Oh My!! You captured the Joshua Tree branch beautifully, the structure and the texture are spot on. I live in the high desert of northern Los Angeles County where we have forests of these trees. I really cannot love this enough -- well done!!

    Hi Buffy, I loved watching you build up the layers and texture of the Joshua tree and transverse drift of colour across the background was genius. In terms of adding shimmer to paintings the jury is out for me. I’m always open to new ideas but I suspect it’s my technique and even subject matter has lets its down. If anyone can conquer this medium successfully, it’s you! I will look forward to watching more tutorials. Kind regards

      Hi Marion! Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts and insights! The jury is out for me too! I love how FUN it is to paint with, becomes like performance art watching the shimmering colors move across the paper! I will continue the exploration of these colors trying to find that "just right" amount 😉 - thank you for watching!

    Another question. In your first pour you had the paper taped off with an what looked like a couple of inches of margin at the bottom. Why?

    • @watercolorpour
      @watercolorpour  Год назад +1

      I like to create "color trails" a strip of paper that has the colors used swatched out, I have a whole drawer of these, I will often write the names of the colors used and what project it was. Then I can reference those colors for future paintings.

    Made my heart sing! BTW, what's the name of the board with the screws
    you were working on? I've never seen anything like it. Does it bother you that one edge did not have a white border?

      I had started this on another foam board (you can see it on the pour portion of the video) When I transferred it to use the otto stetcher boards I had to cut the white border off on one side to get it to fit, at the very end of the video you can see where I ended up cutting all the white borders off. 😉 - so yes I needed it to all match 😉

    Buffy I'm new to your channel after seeing U in the Daniel Smith videos. Do U use the Otto stretcher often? Just curious if it's worth the $. Love the way U paint. U have an amazing career in front of U young lady!

      Hi Kathee, thank you! I just got the stretchers in March, and will use them mostly with larger paintings (larger than 12 x 16) ( for smaller paintings I use scotch tape to tape to my Robax Board. I love them both. I have used the otto stretcher both with pre-wet paper to stretch and not have any warps and also placed dry paper in it, still warps but dries perfectly flat. They are both expensive but by the looks of them they should last me my lifetime. I will add to auto replies which have more info on the two options.
