The only thing these two sports have in common is that it involves hitting your opponent. He couldn't stay on his feet for multiple rounds if it was an mma fight. It didn't look good that he couldn't finish a non-boxer, and in fact got hit more than he generally did by boxers.

You are having misconceptions. Khabib neutralized Conor's striking by his ground game. No Conor is a better striker than Khabib. He won 3rd round when there was no ground game . You can't always use boxing silks in MMA cause the rules are different.

For Conor to go over and box the best of the best and win just about every round was impressive . I was surprised how accurate his shots were, Floyd's game plan was to let him get gassed in later rounds then barrage him with strikes and finish.

I'm still so confused why McGregor fatigued so fast. He must not have trained enough for this. I can promise you MMA will drain you WAY faster then just boxing. In MMA your wrestling, throwing punches, wrestling and throwing punches. You can see about the 5th and 6th round he was done, it might have been way different if he didn't gas out. Mayweather seemed like he was just half-assing it for the payday. McGregor surprised me though. If he wasn't sucking wind the whole time he probably could have made a go of it.
McGregor won majority of the rounds but floyd waited until about the 5th to pick up pace and start getting really aggressive and burn the last bit of McGregors stamina out and eventually finish him. Surprisingly mcgregor was out boxing floyd but just did not have the stamina.

Two controversial fighters made for an intense and gritty bout! McGregor seemed to forget he was in a boxing ring, bringing a style more suited to the cage. Despite my usual dislike for Floyd, I must give credit where it's due-he showcased exceptional skill and delivered a great performance. It was definitely entertaining to watch!
